Beautiful music. Don't understand why there are 34 dislikes. Guess some people can't appreciate this masterpiece. I believe this piece would last throughout the generations.
I first heard this while listening to the great (sadly late) John Peel's "Night Ride" rock music show on BBC Radio 1. He said he listened to it every night before he went to bed and who would blame him? Ironic to think that it was a rock music presenter who first turned me on to baroque music! The version he played was by the Jean-Francois Paillard Chamber Orchestra - and you can find that one on YouTube too.
I find it amusing that people get so angry at people calling this a wedding song when, in actual fact, there is evidence that suggests Pachelbel composed this for Bach's wedding in 1694, so it actually IS a wedding song.
Great music, very Satanic in nature: soft, soothing and thought-provoking. It's the Lord Satan's way. Worship Lucifer, your saviour. Christianity/atheism/any other bollocks is not going to do anything for you. Join the circle of light. Pachelbel, just like us, was a satanist.

30 people missed the like button. This song is beautiful and goes down in history as one of the greatest pieces of music ever composed. I like all kinds of music, so dont call me a fanboy, I love metal, rap, everything really. But this, this speaks volumes. This is an art form.
Very beautiful version. I think I have arrived in Heaven. Thank you for posting this, you made my day :) ....and for the rest of you on here, quit fighting! Music is to build community and help overcome insurmountable obstacles, not drive us apart and it's not supposed to make us angry. Just enjoy it for what it is, don't judge and don't interpret, just let the healing music bring some hope and light to your heart. Try it, it works...trust me!!!
That's ucking beautiful, pure good feelings, keep faith in humanity even if all the people around you are assholes. PEACE MOTHERUCKERS AND ENJOY MUSIC
I may be just another teen who doesn't know squat about music but I think this is beautiful. I mean no disrespect to anyone but I consider anything relating to music, if it is complete, a song. It shouldn't really matter what it is called as long as people are enjoying it and listening to it. I love all kinds of music, one of my favorite songs is actually Ode to Joy. As long at the listener is finding pleasure then what it is reffered to shouldn't matter. Then again, I'm just another teen.
@Lilmszen You're wise for saying that. Most teens (or individuals your age) would be raving Justin Bieber, etc, etc, (what non-sense do kids listen to these days)? Anyways, I'm glad you have respect for classical music. You might want to check out Trans-siberian orchestra. Their take on classical music (e.g. Beethoven, Mozart, etc) is awesome. Thanks for sharing that. Made my day reading your comment. :)
@Lilmszen You, "just another teen" should be proud of yourself for recognizing the beauty of this song, and the other classics that you like. You were very profound in your observance that as long as the listener gets pleasure from the song, that's all that matters. Kudos to you, and may you always be so open-minded!
this takes me back to a happy time in my life. i'd get home from school and my sister would be playing this on her violin. lifes never been so bad but i just spent 5 minutes in a much better place
@wae9kang Trust me I'm a kid as well, and me and majority of my friends appreciate this music. The problem with kids today is not that they don't appreciate it it's that they're stuck on listening to the music of today.Their ears are not trained to listen to the various notes and sound of Classical Music. If you grow up listening to rap your going to listen to rap in the future but if you open your ears to classical you'll learn to appreciate every aspect of it and that's what kids are missing
I think this composition is beautiful for a wedding but it's also lovely just to enjoy it as it is. I wouldn't mind it being a tiny bit slower though, I don't like it when it feels "rushed" if you know what I mean?
I'd my favorite piece of music by far. I listen to it everyday. This is a piece I think would be played in heaven. It will be played in live orchestra at my wedding. I will pay any price.
@laurensb1b You'd call it a piece, a piece of music or even a work.
A song is a type of music, which isn't this :)
@luminara1unduli But there's really no problem with referring to it as 'song,' everyone understands what you mean and it's easier than writing 'piece of music' all the time!
About the wedding thing, it isn't a wedding song, but it's a beautiful piece of music so why not have it at a wedding. I'm sure Pachelbel would be overjoyed everyone loved his music so much!
The song is without a doubt heavenly... what i didn't know about this was that it was well off played mostly as a wedding song... it was a real laugh when I remember attending a funeral while listening to this song in my mp3!
luminara lol.. Happiest day of someones life i'm sure they're aloud to choose whatever song they want and get away with calling it their wedding song. And does it matter what people call it.. I personally will call it a Tune if i have to.
@remenisionz I believe calling it a "wedding song" (also, calling it a "tune" is also unacceptable, it's not Yakety Sax for Heaven's sake) is an insult to the composer, who put a lot of effort into creating this lovely piece...and the poor man wrote it with the intention of it being chamber music, not some cheap melody any ol' Joe can play at his wedding. It's respecting the creator and his vision.
I also can't understand why it's so hard to just call it a Canon. It's even in the title.
@luminara1unduli I think Pachelbel (who would otherwise be forgotten were it not for this Canon [which was originally paired with a 'forgotten' Gigue]) would be grateful and would feel honored to know his Canon is probably one of the most recognizable, used, and beloved Baroque works extant, regardless of what it is called, and how or by whom it is used.
@luminara1unduli I personally can call it whatever i like lol, unless your going to stop me from using freedom of speech. yeah it's a lovely piece i know that i never said it was diabolical. And i think that if he was alive he'd be happy that thousands/millions of people play this song at their wedding's because he would be glad his music is getting out there. Just for you i'm thinking of calling it a Sick Beat.
@remenisionz ¶ Why don't us (free to think free) do a MASS Performance of a particular favorite "SONG" once this "DIM LIGHT" has EXTINGUISHED and likely reduced to PARTICULATES PRECIPITATING on this 12,800 km diameter ASHTRAY that we RESIDE on.
TONS of other STARDUST fall here everyday (plenty of WATER too, so we could be a Divine URINAL too).
DIRT + WATER + LIGHT(heat) >>> LIFE.
Don't Like? Blame the CREATOR when you leave!
[s]He has a COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT already WARMED UP!
@luminara1unduli ¿A lot of effort? ¿Into an 3-voice imitative canon? He could have used the sheet to wipe his ass... And he didn't put so much effort in the bass, as any cello player would tell you xD
And for God's sake, this have a gigue... Why never, nobody, plays the poor, poor gigue? It's also truly good!
@luminara1unduli song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song song. wtf is a song.
@luminara1unduli I am very unfamiliar with Baroque or any classical music, but what is the proper name for a piece of music like this, if I cannot call it a song.
this is one of the most beautiful compositions I`ve ever heard, infact the best to be honest. its very peaceful and emotional at the same time SO i totally understand why u are appalled at the general categorization of wedding song. But ive always pictured the wife to be walking down the isle to Canon in D. (guess even guys can be hopeless romantics deep down.
@luminara1unduli What's wrong with J Pachelbel having invented rock&pop? GF Handel introduced the IDM, L Bocherini & GPh Telemann are the originators of country, & JS Bach is the founder of breakcore (and perhaps of the ambient chillout & lounge music: his canons). Oh, JS Bach also wrote the Dorian toccata & fugue which aren't Dorian (& he most likely didn't write them), the Aria on G string which isn't for G string, & - most listened to ever - cadenzas for Lady Gaga's Bad Romance
@luminara1unduli Please get over the label. The fact is , that the knowledge that there are new listeners to the classics, and that a well known piece draws them to it is hope!
@luminara1unduli ¶ I SECOND THE MOTION THAT HE CAN CALL IT A SONG (sans lyrics, mindLESS EWE) This PEACE is also popular for funerals, let me know when YORE DEAD (et alia) & AYE think a bunch of us (BANANAS) will SURELY play to HASTEN FORGETING about IGNORANT NESCIENT BOVINE PHILISTINES like PRETENTIOUS SANCTIMONIOUS BEHOLDERS of "Beauty for ALL that you PROFESS to be (GONE!!) Where YULE be GOING, the DEITY "won't be amused"
I leave your FATE to the GRAND DESIGNER - S. Hawking
Marriner with the Academy of St. Martin's in the Field are just magic, and it really shows in this piece. Their version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons is just outstanding too, just about my favorite.
This is an amazing piece of music. I've loved it in all its versions for ages and have it in my mobile phone as a ring tone. :-) Thank you for uploading.
I forgot about rhyme... Now You need only dress let's go without it to church and get bless! Sorry if it isn't correct grammar but english is not my leading language.
i had this song on dad's car on a soundtrack cd, only 2 songs i repeated from it, this one and cavaleria rusticana from raging bull, great one! you feel your skin rushes on this song...
This song used to make me sad since I first starting hearing it during depressing moments in my life. Now it makes me happy and relieved to know how far I've come.

@luminara1unduli it was written for a wedding, tho it obv isnt a song

Hawking

I guess 27 people are haters towards weddings. =(
ImaRsPlyer 1 month ago
@ImaRsPlyer Its not a wedding song, Pachelbel didn't intend this to be a wedding song.

Marriner with the Academy of St. Martin's in the Field are just magic, and it really shows in this piece. Their version of Vivaldi's Four Seasons is just outstanding too, just about my favorite.
