  • Love your mom, and you for doing this! I know next week is important for all of us on Avastin! Thank you for helping us fight!!!

  • This video really touched my heart. I have the BRCA1 genetic mutation which greatly increased my chance of breast cancer. I've undergone a double prophylactic mastectomy with reconstruction as well - to avoid the painful route your mother had no choice but to take. I've shared your video and your mom's story on my blog (Teri's Blip in the Universe), and have signed the petition. What a wonderful son you are!

  • Sign me up but o don't have facebook and it's past September 17th

  • @S0108J They are making their decison on december the 17th. they post-poned it. You dont have to have facebook to sign the petition. Just go to the link under the video

  • Avastin is also used for macular degeneration. she has kept limited vision because of this drug. if they remove it, she won't be able to afford treatment. her doctor told her she MUST keep getting shots or go completely blind. i don't think that the government should remove a drug that helps so many, including those with breast cancer, colon cancer, & macular.

  • @llwoods2 I have massive scarring on the retinas of both my eyes. As a consequence I am legally blind in my left eye. In August of 2008 the retina of my right eye started to leak, distorting the vision in that eye. I was able to get a shot of Avastin directly into my eye. AVASTIN SAVED MY EYESIGHT. Two and a half years later the vision in my right eye has returned to "normal" and has stabilized. Avastin is a miracle drug for people like myself or people who have Macular Degeneration.

  • @llwoods2 Let me also say that I don't think that what the FDA decides will affect those of us who have had Avastin for vision. The FDA has never approved Avastin for Macular Degeneration and, thus, it must be used "off label" when it comes to the eye. As far as I know the FDA has no say when it comes to the use of Avastin for the eye. Thousands of eye doctors in the U.S. routinely use Avastin with very high success rates. Without Avastin I would be legally blind in my right eye.

  • I was diagnosed w/Triple Negative Breast Cancer in 2/2006. (TNBC) I have not yet been in remission. It grows and grows. I am now metastatic TNBC (lungs) I am afraid to die. It is devastating to just have the word 'cancer' in ones life...then to have mTNBC that has gone metastatic Doctors have not cared enough to treat ME instead of the disease. It is all about the insurance money to keep them afloat. My body has paid in the past and my family will pay in the future. Please help us.

  • Thank you, Josh. My daughter has triple negative breast cancer, too, stage 2B. She has just finished chemo, with Avastin--on a clinical trial. I am grateful that she had the opportunity to take Avastin, and fervently hope that it may be available to her if she needs it in the future.

  • What an amazing person your mom is...and you are!!! I have a close friend battling the same diagnosis and it is so encouraging and heartwarming to hear your story and compelling words to help spread the word!!!

  • Josh, thank you for creating this powerful video on behalf of all of us living with stage IV breast cancer. Your mom must by very proud to have a son like you. Maybe you should consider a career in the film industry!

  • What a beautiful son you are.I am stage 3 BC survivor, praying I never get to 4,but I would like my own options to take what drugs that are helping me.My name will be on that petition.

  • To all the folks who either have cancer or are care givers, I hope this act helps you to sustain your quality of life and enable you to live as long as you want.

  • beautiful, thank you

  • This is such an awesome video! My story is like your mom's. I had Avastin during my first diagnosis as a trial. I am waiting to be picked for another drug going through a trial for my metastatic trip neg bc. Your mom must be so proud. I'm posting this to my FB page. Good luck with the petitiion.
