Very amazing game, it really brings back memories... Those good old days when the Gamestop 2 minutes from my house used to carry these timeless PS1 classics; it is a shame that they took the recent direction of profit over compassion for video game fans, and nowadays there are much fewer choices than there used to be and I leave the store 75 percent of the time without ever picking anything up, because of their poor selection now. I have to drive 25 minutes just to pick up those PS1 classics...

Yeah i don't think a remake would be the best choice (although i wouldn't be opposed to it). Simply a sequel that keeps the lore of dragoon stones and still uses the addition system that made the combat so much fun. Give it some next gen graphics and flare then... BAM insta classic.

I saw a video game magazine from April 2000. There was a LoD review and a interview with the director himself. He said "Legend of Dragoon will definetly continue on Playstation 2. I look forward to the opportunity of taking full advantage of the power of the Playstation2 on the next game.".

@bagleman64 I think another reason is how iron tight the plot was...it essentially killed off a lot of potential for a very strong sequel. I loved this game, but unless the writers found something exceptionally creative that stayed true to the original...I don't think i would want a sequel. I would rather a re-release.

I still say that the original is so good that it would be perfect as a standalone title and a re-release would be much appreciated, but if between a sequel or prequel then a prequel would be my first choice.

@rocknrollmustlive not 100% sure a prequel is a good idea unless it went WAYY back because dart would be sort of a weak child ideal, I've seen a few good comments suggesting a graphical remake which, I think, would be the best first approach because they could make alterations to the story line to constitute a sequel, and making the remake based on fan-based commentary such as "why didn't he do this" or "why didn't she do that", it sounds like a shot in the dark but after so long, yeah

@moorfindedrilo A prequel, as I discussed with others, would go back either to the dragon campaign or shortly before. Hey, if enough content could be salvaged maybe have it around 5000 years. The prequel ideas I was thinking would NOT be in the near past as, as you said, there wouldn't be enough content to work with.

I am somewhat against changing it too much though, as the story was, for the most part, iron tight. Fan opinions could contribute but without good writers will only go so far.
