@danagol1985 Ripple current is AC mixed in with the DC. Capacitors are one component in filtering; the filtering they do, in conjunction with the other components that make up the filtering, smooths out the current reducing that. However, If the capacitors are not up to snuff that AC can still get through or not be filtered out and that can create some interference.
Dang, guys. You might as well just have a still photograph, why bother with a video? This vid makes a couple of claims but gives no information at all.
Video posted May, 2010 yet Fujitsu sold their solid cap business to Nichicon in April 2009. Also, Fujitsu's Functional Polymer caps (solids) are/were manufactured in China. I love the over marketing.
well there not as solid as they say haha.. i accidently snapped two of these off my motherboard trying to put in my graphics card.. it still works but it turns off randomly and turns back on when it wants.. so im now having to buy a new mobo.
@3dkiller I used to run ASUS with Intel Core2 Quad. I was happy. Then s*it hit the fan - x64 Windows 7 was crashing randomly to BSoD, caps would leak, BIOS would start failing (not a battery issue)
I grabbed a Gigabyte 78LMT-S2P for $40 and a Phenom2 x6 3.2ghz for $150 total.
Best configuration EVER. What I especially love about Gigabyte Boards is that not only are they built to last, they're built with really tough components and they're more neater. :3

@dxproductions100 So what capacitors are the best. Electrolyte or solid-state capacitors, or other type?
Frap357 4 months ago
Japs know what they are doing, unlike the Chinese.

I'm quite a fan of electronics. And have always had a fairly good understanding of components.
But I never understood what 'ripple current' is, when refering to a capacitor.
Could anyone explain what it is to me?

How about chinese solid capacitors?
GolzeD2009 7 months ago
These capacitors are good because they are Japanese?
So others cant make as good capacitors as the Japanese?
Isn't that racist?
Frap357 9 months ago
I hope the caps work better than this video. I don't see the point of this display of caps with a pair of needle nose as the pointer.
sumner407 11 months ago
I'm sorry, but WHY exactly does it matter if it was made in Japan?
aliendude5300 11 months ago
@aliendude5300 It's like german cars : symbol of quality
adrientetar 10 months ago
@aliendude5300 Because Chinese capacitors are of VERY poor quality.
sx642 9 months ago
@sx642 ALL capacitors made in China are poor quality?
China don't have a single manufacturer of decent capacitors?
Frap357 9 months ago
@Frap357 I repair electronic equipment for a living 5 days a week.
Sometimes it just makes me sad what a steaming pile of crap is manufactured in china.
It's not just Chinese capacitors that a problem these days, but also CD/DVD mechanisms and laser pickups often are of very poor quality.
sx642 9 months ago
@Frap357 Historically, no. Lots of boards with bad caps have Chinese capacitors on them. I suggest you google: bad motherboard caps
