  • the thing epic about muay thai compared to kick boxing and karate is, it has it's teep kicks that can injure the opponent's; face, chest, stomach, and hips.

  • Americans are copycats!

  • @raiyu1985 "muay thai kick" not "muay american kick"

  • @raiyu1985 America invented the microprocessor, the car, and started the industrial revolution. If not for American Copy cats you'd still be riding elephants to work and trading goats for sex.

  • My hoby is science, anatomy, medicine. body building, martial arts and mathematics. With all my knowledge in physics, I can say, that it i9s imposible to kick stronger then muay thai does. Acoarding to physics, anatomy and body mechanics, MT kick is to strongest kick in world. Now about cons. Acoarding with body mechanics- MT kick is slowest kick possible. Any art (and I really mea ANY) will deliver kick faster. Be objective

  • in muay thai kick, you should use the whole body to the kick, and you must not stop the kick, even when you are doing mirror exercise you sould just make a 180º move and start again...

  • 0:11 madniss?THIS IS SAPARTA

  • @renegadeskinninja patriwth kai eggw almpano tourista !! telei kanimi parea??

  • shin has an outer layer of muscle which u can harden which willprotect the bone its alot better than kicking it with your foot that has over 100 bones =(

  • i think that kick is too strong, could break your shin.... i never kick with shin...

  • @Navlek79 There are many more small muscles and bones in your foot. Kicking with your foot instead of your shin will just be more dangerous for yourself.

  • @Navlek79 i gues you're right on this one. foot has an ankle and toes, they could also break. but i believe there is still a risk of breaking the shin. i am sure you have heard of someone who has broken a shin

  • @Navlek79

kick against the flesh of your opponent using the sharp of the shin. it's devastating. the muscle would only cushion the blow. watch Tony Blauer's vid on explosive knees and kicks.

  • @Micahel213 i'm still watching tony blauer. he is also aware of sports injuries and promotes impact gear... let me finish up with his vids. nice videos. just to continue with the foot having over 100 bones, it does not mean it has more possibilities to break. it's like when we were starting out we punch incorrectly we injure our wrist. i am merely talking about the risk of shin bone breaking with a kick like this. i have also seen videos of shin breaking on youtube. nasty.

  • @Navlek79

Yes, seeing a shin break gives me the creeps too. A leg isn't supposed to bend like that. However, there are risks in executing any technique. One has to consider the risk against the benefit. A quick somewhat risky elimination or do you give your opponent the chance to finish you?

  • @Micahel213 i am just stating the risk of shin kick, shin kick i believe is not a knock down technique...

  • @Navlek79

Not persé, and often it is not. But if landed correctly it will be the herald of a very bad day.

  • @Navlek79 yeah it can break if you'd kick from a wrong angle but if you kick with the LOWER shin and nice 90 degrees it shouldent break

  • @ThOutRider2 i've been talking to muay thai practitioners in my neighborhood and people on youtube, they say they do shin kicks, lower shin kick near the foot. japanese karate people would not recommend shin kicks however they do have that extended arm technique which is easy to dodge or grab. some martial arts techniques i guess are practiced for tradition, but sports regulations well they don't allow some techniques as they are deadly or may cause injury

  • @Navlek79 you're by far more likely to break your foot, so many tiny and easily breakable bones in there. the shin is a nice thick solid bone. and can be made even thicker and stronger by way of conditioning. continuously do low kicks on a heavy bag and also, take a regular cloth, soak it in water, twist it and rinse it out. now use the twisted wet cloth and give your shins a good even whacking. do this regularly and drink lots of milk for calcium.

  • @h0rangi ur gay "0drink lots of milk and beat ur shins often with a good even whacking" u sound retarded

  • @DdomOwns dont be ignorant you ass hole.

  • @DdomOwns meet a guy with conditioned shins and have him kick you and then you'll be the one who feels retarded.

  • @h0rangi can you do the same with your foot then

  • @Navlek79 In Kyokushin Karate they actually kick with the lower shin, but it's one of the more brutal karate styles

  • @ThOutRider2 You can't break it cause the knee is loose. The guys that break their shinbones on other guys bones is because they keep the leg tight and straightened out. You have to "kick" with your hip and your body weight, forget about the rest of the leg

  • @arikat1 thanks. i havent thought about the difference between keeping your leg extended and loose, THANKS :)

  • @ThOutRider2 u r welcome. I havent perfected the kick either. good example --> /watch?v=N4KrqeTT1g4

  • @arikat1 thanks for the link

  • @Navlek79 Very common thought, when first starting training one wouldn't kick full force with this for that same reason, however what you would do is slowly condition your bones to withstand that amout of force, then the kick is safe to use, where as the foot is MUCH easier to break.

  • awesome

  • hey, why doesn't this kick seem to be blocked by a knee or elbow? Seems to me like this would be a very effective block and would really damage the leg of the other person.

  • @prisoner694 first of all, in muay thai you aim to kick with you shin as its bone, you then aim to make contact with muscle, outer thigh, midsection, bicep/tricep area, or head, some of these are possible to block, but the speed at which this kick is delivered, it is very difficult to block, the best way is to use your shin to block this, and honestly people think haha thats easy, step into the ring MyMan and show us what your really made of, when there are 8 points of contact hitting you.

  • @573W4R7P very true, the speed of the kick makes it tough to block other than in a standard way, like with the shin as you described.

  • @prisoner694 They do block it by bringing up the leg and blocking it with either the shin or knee.
