Did you guys look at the story of this trailer? I mean when getting beyond the satisfaction or dis~ of the nationality and the shallowness?
Because I realized one serious problem here: the PLA of the PRC is engaging in direct confrontation with the US Army. The Russians could avoid this along the whole old cold war. This would inevitably lead to WW3 and therefore it's completely irrelevant who wins here, because we are all toast.
This franchise takes pride from haw realistic it is. Or at least back in the early days that's what they did. I heard the original flashpoint was even used in US Army training simulations. Now, if your predecessor was used by the army you can't just get away with the it's only a game excuse, can you?

you have played to many videogames if you think those are the only best SF in the world. Other countries like the Netherlands also have good SF, the difference is they dont make videogames or movies about those groups. Everything looks way over saturated. I presume this is to cover the poor LODs at anything more than a few hundred meters? No matter. I won't be buying Red River solely because of the abortion that was Dragon Rising. Maybe I will try the demo.
oh yeah operation flashpoint, get the online FPS community to for no reason at all hate brown people from countries in which they know nothing about. keep making games that make invading sovereign countries a glorious thing. Maybe this way we can see ww3 a little earlier then expected, with a bunch of online FPS trained super soldiers to fight the war for the elite oligarchies of the world. @VMAArma2 Judging by your' name you just came from ArmA 2. I can assure you that ArmA will be a very different kind of game, and almost definitely a better one in terms of scale and realism. But this game intends to balance realism and by making a console version, open up the series to new players who would not have even approached a PC in their lives. While I personally love the ArmA, and the original (and still the best) OpFlash. I wouldn't write this off just yet.

Its buggy, ai gets stupid, but the real issue with opflash online is the dissapearing foliage at distance. DESTROYS tactics. at mid range the game was awesome, the terrain made firefights real.
Not enough players, not near enough modes, and a huge lack of innovation and imagination.

The setting seems much more interesting. I've only gotten to half way through the missions of Dragon Rising, but this setting of fighting against an insurgency & alongside another army whom you cannot trust to remain friendly certainly seems to have more potential to affect the gameplay than Dragon Rising's setting of "China took an island from Russia. USA gone in to get it back". But setting isn't what matters. It's the changes to make this game more fun and co-operative that I look forward to.

Maybe this way we can see ww3 a little earlier then expected, with a bunch of online FPS trained super soldiers to fight the war for the elite oligarchies of the world. @VMAArma2 Judging by your' name you just came from ArmA 2. I can assure you that ArmA will be a very different kind of game, and almost definitely a better one in terms of scale and realism. But this game intends to balance realism and by making a console version, open up the series to new players who would not have even approached a PC in their lives. While I personally love the ArmA, and the original (and still the best) OpFlash. I wouldn't write this off just yet.

Not bad if it means I don't have to go through menus to throw a grenade and stuff, but if gameplay gets smaller and more 'action oriented', I will laugh as I don't buy.
BC2 was ruined in the same way.
IMPROVE the stategy element. The first one didn't sell because it was GARBAGE, not because of the idea. People are DONE with brainless shooters on consoles.

@MrNapt its alright, and the only tactical type console game.
Its buggy, ai gets stupid, but the real issue with opflash online is the dissapearing foliage at distance. DESTROYS tactics. at mid range the game was awesome, the terrain made firefights real.
Not enough players, not near enough modes, and a huge lack of innovation and imagination.

@xboxgamer123451 well the biggest one is the pace. opf is a hell of a lot slower paced than any of those games being a tactical shooter. basically 1-2 shots will kill you. you have a team to command and completing a mission while keeping them all alive is a challenge. theyre all shooters, just... different kinds

The setting seems much more interesting. I've only gotten to half way through the missions of Dragon Rising, but this setting of fighting against an insurgency & alongside another army whom you cannot trust to remain friendly certainly seems to have more potential to affect the gameplay than Dragon Rising's setting of "China took an island from Russia. USA gone in to get it back". But setting isn't what matters. It's the changes to make this game more fun and co-operative that I look forward to.
