Hello Ed, will you ever release any of these magnific works that you have done with these panels? I love the DC-8 and my actual dream is to be able to fly one online with all these gadgets you have on this amazing panel you have created.
Congratulations for your awesome DC-8 panel! I am the one who has designed the actual HJG DC-8 panel back in the year 2002 and I am now working (very slowly because the spare time is never enough) on a brand new FS9 DC-8 panel project that will be almost identical to the one you show in your videos. I'd love to fly my DC-8 flights on VATSIM with your panel!
Does the manston scenery by uk2000 make the surrounding terrain accurate? Because when I fly to Manston on FS2004 the coast looks nothing like that. Or do you have some terrain addon?
is your ATC standard?, i always have problems using my FMC and IFR flights together, they always contradict each other!. Do you use FS planner or do you just fly VFR?
@gdw22 Is my ATC standard? Probably not anymore..... thanks to Jim Vile I have learnt how to write approaches for FS9. As Fs9 gets older so does it's database. I find myself writing new approaches for every flight now.... for example the DME ARC approach in this video is written by me.
I always fly IFR and I do use the FS Flightplanner along with FMC's.
My next flight will be using the Flight 1 ATR's FMC along with a new RNAV approach written for FSATC
I wondered how you got ATC to correspond with ur FMC. FS ATC is useless when trying to follow my FMC route i'm always being told to go on a different heading
@edetroit, Will look into it, hopefully i can sort something out so ATC will follow my sids and stars even if its some of the way. Thanks for your help
@edetroit hey ed great video, just wondering if there is a way to get a good trans ATL flight plan for planes like the project opensky 777 that dont have an fmc, could fs build do that?
@poskyflyer Well I do but it is quite long winded. You could write the plan into FSBuild and it would convert it easily.
The Atlantic waypoints are not in the FS database so I have written them myself so that bit is easy for me....for the rest if one writes the plan into a PMDG 747 or LevelD 767 FMC you will get the individual waypoints.
As I said FSBuild makes it easy as the waypoints do not have to be in the FS database.
hey Ed have you ever receive a job proposition from a a company like CLS or PMDG or Captain Sim,,i think they will like your panels because yours ones are better than theirs????????/
@Qantas25 5* for noticing! ......the DME ARC for ILS rwy28 does not exist in the FS database. I had to compromise a bit as I believe one cannot write a DME ARC for a localizer (as written in the chart) . The MTN NDB is in the right place but has no DME so I had to fake a VOR/DME over the MTN NDB and name it MTN.
@edetroit FSATC can be modified, I added a few waypoints in a year or so ago before I flew on VATSIM. I'm not strong with DME approaches... yet. I'll be testing a few once I get back from my holiday.
Have you ever considered flying an older Boeing... like the 727 or 707?
@edetroit Sounds great. I have a question to ask you about views in 2D panels, if you wouldn't mind. I'm assuming the answer can be modified for other panels, too.
When creating a new viewpoint in the 2D view, how exactly do I do it? I changed some view settings for a wingview and they didn't change in the sim. Hoping this isn't too much hassle for you.
how do you edit the ATC script?

@Airbus294 I just checked and I do have an add-on scenery mesh for the British Isles as well.......but which one it is I cannot remember. lol

@edetroit not to worry! I have so many add-ons that I forget which I have too.

gdw22 1 year ago
@gdw22 well basically you need to write the same route into the FS Flightplanner as your FMC flight plan .
I do this manually but I believe FS Build will convert real world flight plans ...or pretty much any flight plan format to FS flight planner format.

@poskyflyer I do not have FS Build.... but I think if you can get a real world flight plan FS Build can convert if for the FS Flightplanner.
You might like to check flightaware for flightplans

Hi Ed. Great vids. BTW, do you advise the Aerosim model?
Maxpilot777 1 year ago
@Maxpilot777 The only Aerosim DC-8 model I like is the Classic Freighters 2 model.
But i do not think we have seen the definitive DC-8 model in FS yet.

hi Ed,
Which graphics card are you using and do you use any add-on terrain as at cruising altitude the terrain looks amazing esp when flting over Paris!
Many Thanks
gdw22 1 year ago
@gdw22 My graphics card is a 1Gb Nvidia GTX 285 (186.18 drivers plus NHancer)
The photo real Paris scenery is called Flight Paris by France VFR.

I am busy with some other panels right now but I definitely want to make a 707 panel one day.

@edetroit I always watch your videos for little surprises like ATC modifications.
Are these "other panels" new panels we are yet to see, or just re-works of your current brilliant work?
