  • Done in exquisite taste, as usual! Looking forward to a duet with Dutch maestro Jan Akkerman...

  • Hi, thanks to your kind comment!

Well, it is made 1984 so it would probably cost a lot more this day...but it is a beauty, isn´t it?

    All the best

  • beautiful tune and fingerboard! Thanks for sharing

  • This lute and it´s fingerboard is made by Malcolm Prior, London many years ago. And the instrument seems just to get better and better...

  • Hello, very nice videos, and beautiful fingerboard. Who make the lute ?

    Val ;-)

  • Thanks Val! The maker of this lute is Malcolm Prior, London 1984.

  • Wonderful stuff! I might just have to take your advice and tune my guitar's G to F# and buy a lute book... maybe even capo on the 3rd fret! My problem is lute tab looked intimidating... I'm used to reading standard music notation.

    Keep up the great videos!!

  • Yes, or why not buy a lute? Lute Tabulature you can learn in a few hours. Not kidding, it is very easy to learn! There are som metods to find you have just to get used to different hands when you read from facsimile which could be a bit fiddly. But with "modern" printed tabs i am sure you could learn! In fact it is easier to read tabs than staff notation.

  • I took a closer look and found that you are right, Lute Tabs are not as hard as I thought.

I probably will buy a lute someday when I have TIME to learn the right hand technique.
