this game its very cool the sound the monsters and weapons the music is fucking cool but is just killing all the levels some stages are boring all bosses are patetic ;P and u can easly clear all the game with the painkiller(the weapon u beggin the game)

Can someone PLEASE explain to me HOW & WHY this game became the "sleeper hit" with its own cult following? I just dont get it, I mean the entire game is just running through closed off maps/arenas and killing endlessly re-spawning enemies. It has a RAZOR thin plot AT BEST and it just doesnt seem to me like it deserves the crazy-ass love that people have for it. And to everyone reading this, please dont go whipping out your flamethrowers, I just wanna be in the know so I can understand it!!

@hopecandecieve Mindless shooters have to be fun in order to work, and Painkiller is one of the greats when it comes to this formula. Just look at their latest game Bulletstorm. Talk about fun. That game takes the fucking cake. It's like Painkiller dipped in steroids, crack and every great 80's macho action flick. Think Bruce Campbell. People who like The Evil Dead ect., like them not because of some pretentious artistic value, but because it's hilarious, over the top and brutal. It's just fun.

@xilix You are totally "preaching to the choir" regarding BulletStorm dude. lol I honesty am at a total complete mental brick wall everytime I try to think of or remember the last FPS that I've played that was as outright balls-to-the-wall sheer unbridled RAW-ASS FUN as BStrm is. lol The only one that pops to mind is Modern Warfare 2 actually. That is really the ONLY FPS that I have EVER played through literally MULTIPLE TIMES. lol The storyline being the driving force behind that btw.

They can't play sports becasue the plot is virtually non-existent. This is a shooter in the purest sense. It just cuts to the goddamn chase, like it should.

@hopecandecieve It's because it is fun, slightly stupid fun. If it had an awesome plot and endless different possibilities of play with current gen graphics then it would probably be the ultimate game.

The physics of the kills and the mechanics and abilities of the weapons is what does it for me, which (in the hope of not sounding too much like a Zero Punctuation fan) is probably missing. Personally though I would love to see something that combined all elements, one game to rule them all!
