@as3an18n I used to get really annoyed by Jim Wych and Danny Diliberto, but they have really started growing on me, along with Billy Incardona. They have a lot of knowledge about the game, they are all excellent players themselves, and you can learn something from them. Joey A is one commentator who still annoys me though.
It always makes me giggle when people comment with things like "that guy sucks, the other guy is awesome". The fact of the matter is both of these guys can outshoot 99.9% of the people who ever watch this video. Everyone has their favorites, (me incuded) but it's just fun and informative to watch great players play.
do you guys know what kind of skill he has on Russian pyramid table? he has godlike stroke, he is the main gun in Russian and Kiamco and other philipino pool stars would suck ball to have the skills he has!
I didn't like their commentary about Stalev, they didn't even mention That Stalev is originally Russian Billiard Player and many times world Champion... I doubt if he would be snooker player they definitely would say that why did they missed that fact?
@qustav37 you have to hit the lowest numbered ball on the table first but you don't have to necessarily put in the lowest numbered ball into a pocket. for example, you can combo shot the 2 ball into the 9 ball to make the 9 ball into the pocket to win.
@albernerhelge u want something weird go to the south you will hear all kinds of variations to words lol
even made up words that have no meaning like "kitten my doodle" its fun trying to figure out what it means. "Well kitten my doodle, i jus mist dat shot straight up like shuvin a corn cob up a mules ass, another werds it what'n a pritty sight u know what i mean"
Why are these commentators so amazed by pool players from the Philippines? Its like they are shocked that they have a pool table in the country and yet alone how to play on it.
I don't understand what that old Danny commentator guy was talking about right after the break in rack #2. First of all, you have almost zero control of the cue ball when you break. Why was he criticizing Kiamco's break when he scratched? What's the difference if the cue goes directly in the pocket vs. cue getting kicked into the pocket from another ball? Regardless, it's still a scratch. That just didn't make any sense to me. The bottom line is... shit happens on the break sometimes.
Your criticism of Danny is based on the false premise that it's nearly impossible to control the cue ball on the break. This is not true, especially at the professional level, where the players have a specific area of the table where they are trying to park the cue ball each time. It's no accident that Shane Van Boening almost never scratches on the break and usually has a shot on the one ball in one of the top corner pockets. That is not luck, but a skill he developed through practice.
You've obviously never played DiLiberto. At any point in his long life in pool, he's always been a stone cold "KILLER!!!" And let me tell you, that goes for Bank, Straight pool, one-pocket, and most certainly 9-ball and eight ball. Then, as now, even at 74, no normal "joe" is going to take the cheese from him!
the chick looks troubled ... the guys should smile at least when they each won a rack.... a smile goes a long way and even defines a happy loser from a sore winner... if i were playing, that chick would be loved and appreciated (be friendly )
its different cos the fabric is made of cotton, so it absorbs water. hence there's more friction. the only reason why there is less friction on wet land is cos there is a layer of water on the ground which reduces the contact between the shoes and the floor.
14:27 before the names Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante, the first player that most Filipinos have admired is none other than Jose Parica, he was named as "AMANG PARICA" which means "The Father" and yes it is true that the leader of Filipino invasion in the world of billiard is Parica.
I read in an old pool magazine that the Filipinos learned pool through American servicemen occupying the Islands after the war. Loaded with cash to spare in a poor country, they would gamble on pool games and the Filipinos gradually picked it up. The Philippine Islands are hot, humid, and the table conditions were very poor. Thus, they learned the game on difficult conditions and thus they play different.
As powerful as his break was, Stalev should definitely have backed off, more than a little even. By my count he scratched three times. That's more than enough ordinarily to lose a match like this.
I noticed he was breaking w/ his playing cue, which seems to be one of those Russian billiards cues. Anybody know how many pieces those are? Three or four? I wonder how hard his tip is.
at 20:52 the whole less friction when its damp is about the goofiest answer i have ever heard. use common sense danny, moisture is water, can u rn faster through water or on dry land.
You run slower on wet land because there is less friction and you cant grip with your shoes as well and have energy to push off. So actually there being less friction when the table is wet makes perfect sense.
do you play pool? because if you do you would know that the ball runs much farther in dry conditions. ask a real pool player if you have one in the area.
I've just started playing so I dont know about that so yeah I'll ask someone. I was talking more about that comment on thinking that you run faster on wet land than dry land.
cuz u just need to hit the lowest ball on the table first. Then if u ,for example, fluke another ball u get to continue. And the bad thing with 9ball is that if u get the 9ball down u win, even if its a fluke or a planned shot
