Basketball jump shot - Slow motion video

what do you guys think about the time of release on the ball? releasing it right before the peak of the jump feels the most natural to me.. but on the better basketball dvds he suggests releasing when your feet leaves the ground (coincidently none of his students do this in the video..)

this would be for a mid range to 3pt shot, not up close
