  • Why does it cut out at the end ?? dagnabit !

  • This is a classic.

  • Tghis is a classic.

  • merci je découvre..

  • What a beatiful song : melody/voice are simply perfect.

  • Does the opening sound like Dream On to anyone else?

  • I still have the album....yes an actual record. I have been listening to it forever. Paul is and will always be my favorite Beatle.

  • posted on my FB for Linda~ what a Love they had....

  • Ive discovered an all new listening technique for songs that ive never heard before ... I listen to a song for the first time ever with my eyes closed ... so Im not disappointed by anything but the music. This song is very good with your eyes closed - I can confirm.

  • A beautiful haunting song from the underrated Back To The Egg. Never understood why this album had flopped as most of the song are very epic and experimental.

  • Que' grande eres, McCartney.

  • stfu people. Paul DOES have a castle. It is built upon awesomeness. And he has drums guitars and a piano in his sitting room. He's Paul. And that's how Paul rolls.

  • Great Album - I was privileged to work with Paul and Linda on this tour. Linda was beautiful and although very shy was fabulous.

She and Paul arranged for everyone on the shoot to receive a Solid Silver engraved Egg Cup and Spoon (from Garrards!).

It's a treasured possession, but the memories of the castle, the beach, the rapeseed field and the aircraft hangar will remain with me forever.

    Wings were very underrated!

  • @wecansavenergy AHH LUCKY!!

  • te amo paul, lindisima cancion.. lindizima tu vozzz <3

  • I awakened this morning with this song playing in my mind. Beautiful and so peaceful.

  • Is that Paul's castle? Wow! Can only imagine...!!!! LOVE this!

  • @macrockettere no, Paul doesnt own a castle- he was just visiting it for the filming

  • @macrockettere no, Paul doesnt own a castle- he went there for recording and filing for hteunique acoustics of the big old stone rooms and a cool promo video

  • was this TV broadcast shown in the US? never did see it, anyway the songs are beautiful, my favorites from "Back to the Egg." thanks so much for sharing this!!!

  • Paul had guitar with emblem of Detroit Red Wings in this video. In videoclip "Tug of War" there is too.

    Excellent. Briliant. Awesome.

  • @JohnnyThunder2 that guitar w/ the Redwings sticker still exists. he used it at the Chaos and Creation at Abbey Road sessions thats a DVD- and in concerts lately sometimes on "Blackbird", and "Jenny Wren"

  • Its not ignored anymore. Most critics have since revised their opinions of this album and think of it in a positive way. All critics were preprogrammed to hate his albums because of John Lennon's less than unbiased comments about a couple of Paul's early albums.

  • Very underrated. But the critical reaction to it was not good, and it still lives with Paul to this day. It is ignored.

  • Great song, better album!

  • BACK TO THE EGG.

  • wicked

  • "Winter Rose" has a heartbreaking melody, and Paul's voice also seems strangely moved. I like the visuals too.

  • I love the whole Album! And Linda's horse is Gorgeous!

  • "Back to the Egg" was/is brilliant. I can't understand why it gets such bad reviews. And this is a classic.

  • Amen Greenthigh! I think Back To The Egg is my overall favorite Wings album, and that's say a lot! Paul never rocked so hard since Helter Skelter.

  • I'll tell you why. Critics took sides on: They loved everything Lennon and spit on everything Paul. It really is that simple. RAM was reviewed as the "Nadir" of Rock N Roll.(nadir definition: the lowest point of anything) Now it is a classic. McCartney the album was trashed by some for it's family theme (The Lovely Linda, Everynight) . Yet 10 years later Lennon releases Doubly Fantasy with the exact same family themed LP (Dear Yoko, Beautiful Boy, Woman etc) and an instant classic it is hailed.

  • That's right. Its always cooler to follow John.

  • @BonelessSausage You're right there. Paul's greatest 'crime' is to have not died young, and to have kept releasing material at the same rate that he has always done, thereby being taken for granted. His full legacy won't be fully appreciated until after he has sadly passed on. Lennon, meanwhile, has been canonised - critics and the not too discerning public always want to simplify things - John was the genius, the rocker, the political activist... actually Paul was also all of those things!

  • Spot on comments here WillburyVision. Not to take anything away from Lennon, he probably was the genius and political activist, but nobody, NOBODY has performed music like James Paul McCartney.

  • @sillyluvsongs LOL.....well said! Here here!

  • @WilburyVision always liked pauls stuff the best, he showed he could write and play just as good if not better alone,(sing songs i thought were mine alone)

  • @WilburyVision nobody deserves to die young and Paul dying wont make his music any different than it is- in fact hearing it live increases apreciation

  • @4FabBEATLES No, you're right - Paul dying won't make his music any different, but I am certain it will change the way people perceive it. It is a sad fact about human nature that we always appreciate something far more when it's gone than when its still freely available. At least plenty of people here seem to appreciate Back to the Egg!!

  • I bought Back to the Egg off ebay. It'sa great album.

  • i think i asked before...is "Back to the Egg" on CD??? I have the album and I have it on cassette...I want the CD and the DVD!! Where can I get it??? PLEEZE!!! give info!!

    THANX!!!

  • it is definately on CD but hard to find...

  • ?

It's on cds, like any Wings and McCartney album. You can find it on sites like Amazon, at the very least. I'm sure your local records store could get it if you asked the staff.

  • i hum the melody of love awake to my grandaughter as a lullaby.

  • Melancholic but absolutely lovely. One of my favourite post Beatle tracks from Paul. Must find the album now.

  • Sooo beautiful, one of my favourite Paul songs <3

  • Always loved these. Bought the album on day one and played it all the time in my uni hall of residence - all the punk/mod revival lads thought I was out of the ark until they realised who had been influencing the Jam & such like!

  • These 2 songs are Paul at his best from what I say is his best post Beatle Album. I cannot pick a fave track from it, they're all excelant

  • Very much an under-appreciated song and album. God bless Sir Paul.

  • "Winter Rose" is a magical, haunting masterpiece from Paul's inner melancholy genius of melody.

  • chris thomas did such a job promoting this album. i love this album and cant beleive it got such a bad review. Its a great album. He doesnt get enough respect as a musican/songwriter or a man

  • Thank you, so true!!

  • Second best album to Ram....

    Ram on,

    Joe in NH

  • Love awake I always loved this song god it makes me feel so good the words the music its one of those songs you lose track of over the years beacaus its not main stream, but one when you listen to your like oh my god i forgot about this one and its always one of my favorites

  • This song sums it up, Paul is magic, and his songs are the soundtrack to my life!

  • hehe^^ It sounds medieval and lovely!! = D

  • Love Awake is a masterpiece. One of those Macca solo songs which could have been a Beatles song. Thank you for posting.

    Ram on,

    Joe.

  • @kringles4 I completely agree.

  • @kringles4 Right! Imagine if John had gotten at this!

  • "Winter Rose" is the best song that Paul ever composed.

It reminds me of renaissance and it is equal (if not better) to classical music.

I can't express my feelings for this work of art.

Excuse me, but I always thought that "Love Awake" destroys the magic of the song.

I always like to hear "Winter Rose" independently.

  • The medley is about Winter turning into a joyous spring and of the coming summer. It touches every part of our feelings. Just listening to one part is like eating a pizza and throwing away the meat and the cheese. Ed

  • Outstanding quality of this video!!! I have never seen such a cleaned up version!

    thank you and Ram on,

    Joe.

  • what abeautiful couple and song. They loved each other so much. thanks for this video

  • What a pity the end is cut off.

  • I love this, especially "Love Awake". McCartney is just so prolific that much of his material doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

  • Nice video. Love the winter scenery. And I've always thought the song was wonderful, 'specially the "Winter Rose" segment.

  • this video is from "Back to the egg Special" and i downloaded it from the internet bootleg site.

  • Where did you get the video? Thank you.

  • wow!I LOVE THIS SONG BUT I DONT KNOW THERES VIDEO!

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

  • Nice souvenir egg
