The controls were a smidge dissapointing but DBD was one of the first games I've ever played (and I've been active since birth 6/4/91) that envoked such a smooth spy feel!
The graphics were stunning and the music was rather perplexing but supplemented the gameplay very well. The cutscenes of hand to hand fighting were beautiful and there were some very interesting ingame fights and moves as well. DBD had it's flaw but if they fixed them up--I'd KILL to see a DBD 2!
...and yes I agree with "Sambucacat" - many have died as well. This is only if one has survived the broken skull.
There's many accounts of severe head trauma & broken skulls (all of which involve brain swelling), and the patient actually lived with little or no side-effects. Thay usually do not remember much about the time of injury, which tells a lot.
Your skull gets cracked open with pieces of bone in your brain, you will not roll around crying.
You'd be silent or talking very slowly. Your arms and legs will either twitch or slightly rise from the ground (if you aren't unconcious to begin with).
What you won't be doing is rolling around going "aggh!"
I can get more clinical with actual accounts, but it'd take time to explain.
The game is inaccurate for a skull / brain injury of that magnitude (see 0:52).
I'm surprised that Anna was still kicking and screaming after that shattering head trauma attack to the skull......and the broken arm...............and the ribs..........and the legs.............SERIOUSLY no one could just get back up that quickly !!!!!

that's the problem with fighting games that involve breaking bones. they can never be realistic, seeing as a broken leg or arm would end the fight, much less getting back up from the broken leg.
as far as a broken skull, anna should be twitching & convulsing like a malfunctioning robot.
that probably make the game too realistically violent though.
i agree games (especially 'fighting') have to attain a level of arcade-fantasy in order to keep it fun. i'm definitely not disagreeing there.
after playing & beating DBD, the only gripe i've ever had with it was more realistic reactions to broken bones and hemorrhaging organs (it would make executing those focus-strikes alot more exicting).

@SAClownz That's one of my pet peeves with this game. Critical Strikes should be an instant kill, at least on the regular enemies.
