I taped this movie on my VCR and (tried to) watch it tonight. What did I think of it? All I can say is, thank heaven for the FF on the remote. Who are these morons who go to the theater and pay $10 to watch this crap? Get a life.

Gotta agree with the guy. Horribly miscast all the way. I woulda gotten Russell Crowe, Adrien Brody or Tom Hanks for the part. Pitt's a cardboard actor, up there with Keeanu Reeves and Clooney.
@RideMyBMW Wow, I can't believe how much I disagree with you. With the exception of Reeves being a "cardboard actor", I disagree with you on everything. I think Brad Pitt did an amazing job with this film and he is generally very good at what he does, as is Clooney. As for Crowe, Brody and Hanks, I really think they are highly overrated. Crowe is alright, but I've never seen Brody or Hanks in a film without wanting to smack them in the face.

i know, i couldnt understand what point the film was trying to make, he just ups and leaves them because he doesnt want her to take care of him and there daughter, they were still like in there 40s! he would still be an adult long after his daughter grows up.

I liked this movie, specially the makeup done on the actors. My only complaint is that the movie was too long at 2 hours 40 minutes when I believed it could have been made in 2. I would have liked Benjamin to research his condition, maybe in an attempt to reverse it or maybe stop it. Why did Benjamin never get curious to why he was born old and aged backwards? How come nobody went crazy over that and raised some questions? How come only Daisy and Benjamin's mom noticed he was getting younger?

4/10. Technically impressive, but emotionally flat, intellectually hollow and curiously self-important adaptation of a nice little satirical short story that gets stretched out beyond reason.
How about an engaging storyline, fleshed out characters and more substance than the same old "seize the day", "live in the moment", "life is but a fluke" sentiments. As Jon Stewart rightly claimed: Benjamin Button is like Forrest Gump meets zzzzzzzz (sleeping sound)?
I am with you 100% this movie is one for the books the ending ant the starting twined togother so perfectly and with everything Benjamin had been through out it just brought a tear to my eye.

You've thought of something? We think it's strange that he ages backwards, BUT what if we all aged backwards like him. Then anyone that ages the way we're used to would be seen just as strange to all those that ages backwards.
I thought it was "okay." Brad Pitt is a great actor, but this role had nothing for him to do. After a couple hours, I checked my cell repeatedly to see the time. I was bored.
And the similarities to "Gump" is ridiculous. Believe it or not, I entered the theatre not knowing they shared a writer. But by the end of the movie, I was thinking, "This is just like Forrest Gump!"
Normally I'd see a movie, be all wrapped up in it for a couple of days, and then say "Oh well it was good... but I guess not THAT good." Despite the movie being over 2 1/2 hours, I could go see it again. DEFINITELY worth an oscar. =) I think that if you went to go see this movie just for Brad Pitt, you'd be suprised at how good the movie is. If you haven't seen it, go see it!

This movie was a terrible amalgamation of the notebook, big fish and forest gump. Predictable, pathetic, and absolutely wreaks of cheese. AND THE HUMMINGBIRD AT THE END!?!?! C'MON! Waste of my time and money.
Mainly because both stories are told from reading an old woman's diary while she lay on her death bed. It aggravates me that someone can make millions of dollars off recycled material and the general public still goes goo-goo for it.
Some people like the glasses, some people don't. I'm just glad - that after ten years of hating my glasses - I finally have a pair that I personally like! :)
It's the best movie I've seen in a very long time, I do think it is worth an Oscar, definitely. And the acting was magnificent, they transmitted every feeling.
And I have to say it, Brad Pitt looked extremely good looking in the young part, :D

9/10 Brad Pitt when he was 85-84 years old in that nursing home was SO CUTE! The little body and how he was limping were a bit sad because this guy is old and not in the best physical shape but he was very cute. This was a great movie in almost every aspect! Bravo.

4/10. Technically impressive, but emotionally flat, intellectually hollow and curiously self-important adaptation of a nice little satirical short story that gets stretched out beyond reason.

How about an engaging storyline, fleshed out characters and more substance than the same old "seize the day", "live in the moment", "life is but a fluke" sentiments. As Jon Stewart rightly claimed: Benjamin Button is like Forrest Gump meets zzzzzzzz (sleeping sound)?

I am with you 100% this movie is one for the books the ending ant the starting twined togother so perfectly and with everything Benjamin had been through out it just brought a tear to my eye.

I saw this movie today and I think it's rather good. I haven't seen this "Forest Gump" that so many's talking about.
You've thought of something? We think it's strange that he ages backwards, BUT what if we all aged backwards like him. Then anyone that ages the way we're used to would be seen just as strange to all those that ages backwards.

yeah the curious case of benjamin button also reminded me of forest gump... it made a seriously great impact on me (both of th movies)

I thought it was "okay." Brad Pitt is a great actor, but this role had nothing for him to do. After a couple hours, I checked my cell repeatedly to see the time. I was bored.
And the similarities to "Gump" is ridiculous. Believe it or not, I entered the theatre not knowing they shared a writer. But by the end of the movie, I was thinking, "This is just like Forrest Gump!"

Normally I'd see a movie, be all wrapped up in it for a couple of days, and then say "Oh well it was good... but I guess not THAT good." Despite the movie being over 2 1/2 hours, I could go see it again. DEFINITELY worth an oscar. =) I think that if you went to go see this movie just for Brad Pitt, you'd be suprised at how good the movie is. If you haven't seen it, go see it!

I didn't know there was still a place you go pay 12 bucks to get f*cked for 2 and a half hours.
This movie was a terrible amalgamation of the notebook, big fish and forest gump. Predictable, pathetic, and absolutely wreaks of cheese. AND THE HUMMINGBIRD AT THE END!?!?! C'MON! Waste of my time and money.

Mainly because both stories are told from reading an old woman's diary while she lay on her death bed. It aggravates me that someone can make millions of dollars off recycled material and the general public still goes goo-goo for it.

It's the best movie I've seen in a very long time, I do think it is worth an Oscar, definitely. And the acting was magnificent, they transmitted every feeling.
And I have to say it, Brad Pitt looked extremely good looking in the young part, :D

Thats not true I think this movies slightly wonderfull but i agree with the guy who said brad pitt Cant sell it.
You Dont see the torment,
you dont see the true emotion or pain
What you see is Brad Pitt getting as much "Swoonfull" screen time as possible.
Agrivation and dislike of this movie is a very possible and highly likey thing for any sort.

I didn't cry at the end, but it stuck me in the heart and it really made me think to myself "am I taking my life for granted?"

9/10 Brad Pitt when he was 85-84 years old in that nursing home was SO CUTE! The little body and how he was limping were a bit sad because this guy is old and not in the best physical shape but he was very cute. This was a great movie in almost every aspect! Bravo.

an absolute 9.8/10. As much as i hate to say it, the 3/10 of the movie was a lil' moderate.
I'm a 15 yr old sorta insensitive guy and i even cried at the end. The movie doesn't give you the feeling of how it feels like to be loved or love to me, it's just a VERY GOOD movie to cry to and it teaches me a unknown lesson! Best motion picture goes to "Benjamin Button!" Brad didn't cry though.... still OutSTANDing movie. and F the ppl said this is a pc of crap! No offence!
