I am absolutely in love with this video...I think 30,000 views are mine. I just purchased a Canon 7D...I also do photography. Beautiful job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw ur advices and everything and u inspired me to buy a timelapse remote, how can you know how much the interval has to be. i mean, if u watch the clouds. lol. i hope u can see my first attemp: watch?v=XmpTOTpUHmo and tell me what i did wrong? Goes a bit fast doesn't it? and it was 2 sec. thanks for everything though.
I cannot see anything, that seems to be wrong and I think, there are no regularities for making timelapses. If you feel, it´s going too fast, then either make a photo every 3 seconds or just make a pulldown to a lower framerate.
I just watch the clouds and if it´s windy and the clouds are moving very fast, I´ll take a picture every 3-4 seconds. If there´s no really visible movmen, I go down to 2 seconds, that´s it :)
I love it !!! I'm a novice, I bought a Timer Remote Control.. do you remember the settings programmed into your lapse ? delay ? bulbe ? interval timer ? Sorry for my english, I'm a french lost ;)
no, I didn´t....as it is pretty long ago, I just know, that I downloaded it from Jamendo.com for non commercial use. But I really don´t know anymore the composer/artist.
holy crap...why do ppl feel the need to state the frigging ovious ...is it to make them feel better or is it it only in this forum they wont get punched in the face for being a total dickhead..nice vidio or timelapse or whatever ...well done
@doobiehip when you shoot time-lapses with pictures the resolution can exceed well over 1080. The person who made this probably used QuickTime to do the time-lapse then exported it into a lower setting.
Which of the tripod heads did you use? It mentions in the description, yet you could have used only one for the time lapse. Im thinking of getting the Manfrotto 190 XPROB tripod, with Manfrotto 700RC2 videohead. How do you like this head for video? is it nice and smooth for cool panning shots? Thanks!
@IEDNlab Wait, so do you mean, what you're showing here is not a video but multiple still images? Man, I'm a noob. I thought timelapse was an actual video recording all time long. Damn, I feel enlightened.
But what about video cameras, I guess timelapse "video" should make more sense there. right?
btw is a TL made of images, much more spectecular as it doesn´t get this kinda cheap video look with blurred images and motion blur etc. An image has much higher resolution and therefore is suuuper crisp and brilliant
What's the music? I love it!!

@IEDNlab Ah, because it was very windy over here! So i had to do it on every 3/4 sec then. So how faster the clouds, how more seconds in between?
Thanks for every thing!
And your video is great.. forgot to say that. lol.

@eyefocusnanuru
exactly...set it up for your liking and others will like it, too (mostly;)
thanks, cheers :)

Hi...thanks.,...put it to intervall, every 2 seconds, if clouds moving slowly....every 3 seconds, if clouds are faster (when it´s windy).
Do not forget, to set everything to manual, set your exposure and fstop and give it a go ;)

I would really like to know how to make a time lapse video, as I am hopefully getting the 7D soon, any tips on how to make them?
mYsTiCaLbOnG 1 month ago
@mYsTiCaLbOnG
That´s really pretty easy:
Get an interval timer for your cam and make a picture i.e. every 2 seconds for roundabout 20 min.
Then you´ll get a imagesequence of ca. 20 secs.
Stitch them together in a programm like After Effects or Mediaencoder...that´s it;)

@IEDNlab Thanks!

@Dimitry49
I used this equipment: Manfrotto 190 DB tripod, Manfrotto 701 HDV videohead, Manfrotto 700RC2 videohead.
As there were a slide ontop of the 700RC2 installed, I needed a second head, the 701 HDV.
The 700 RC2 isn´t bad, but not smooth enough...the 701 HDV is much better as it is a fluid head

@Dimitry49 Haha, how the fuck can you guess which tripod?

wait, how did you manage to shoot timelapse with Canon 7D? It should have heated and melted.
boogeymanfromhell 1 year ago 2
@boogeymanfromhell
no, timelapsing isn´t a problem for the 7D, as it´s just taking images every 2 or 3 secs or so.
only while filming (esp. in fullhd or half hd 60p) you´ll run into overheat problems.

@boogeymanfromhell
It´s a video made of multiple images. You can do your TL´s either in still or movie mode.
doing movies needs a speedup in post and of course it takes much more space,
as you have to shoot 20 mins of footage, instead of eg 700 images.
