The "turntable bullshit" is about the music industry. Hence the title Yo! Bum Rush the Show refers to "Bum Rush"-ing the music industry. Remember rap still hadn't been accepted as music then.
@wormsofarrakis he wasn't back in '87. and this music is from '87. so i dont see the point. besides lil' wayne always sucked and always have been a sellout
saw def jam 87 from 2nd row..had better seats than mike tyson that night..thats a true story..they showed up at the garden in ny uzi down on stage..and said the clan didnt want this concert to happen...but as usual niggas fucked up the evening fighting each other...it's 2011 aint shit changed, but we must try harder to love as a people..maybe one day there will be peace and equality.
Why can't I find "too much posse" on YouTube? It's the song that comes right after this one on the album. I see the one with Anthrax, but I want to hear the original.
@slantyrock both, the guitar and drumbeat are from The Meter's - Just Kissed My Baby. Fools Gold was made two years after Timebomb and it has a drum sample from Bobby Byrd's - Hot Pants (Bonus Beat). Later in 1990. Run DMC sampled the guitar and drums from Fools Gold in their song What's It All About
@Dirty4Harri Dude might be confused with the back cover of Miuzi Weighs a Ton/Rebel Without Pause EP where PE and the posse are in full effect in an underground car park with their Oldsmobiles and plenty of guns!
@SnappyJones13 this is the original cover. are u talking about the single for "you're gonna get yours"? the 98 posse was on there there with their cars..some members holding guns.
@SnappyJones13 Jesus, i just noticed that!! Used to have the cassette in the late 80's, yeah there were a load of guns on the table, i don't have it in front of me but yeah, i'm sure of it.
@panamaniak Chuck is 50, Wayne is 28. The cultural factor's that shaped Chuck as a lyricist are much different from those that shaped Wayne. Plus, when PE made Bumrush the Show, hip hop wasn't even played on the radio, so the artists had a lot more creative control, and less pressure to have chart success. Wayne is, without question, the hardest working rapper of his era. His style, and charisma are phenomenal, even if his lyrical content lacks depth. He's not Chuck D... He's L'il Wayne!
@chillemaxmost how is he the hardest working rapper if he doesnt even make his own beats or take time to write good raps?because he sells a lot of records? hes more like the hardest working advertiser, of shit.
fuck the media

@slantyrock It's a sample from The Meters' "Just kissed my baby" off of the album "Rejuvenation".

I have all PE original vinyls, never saw the one with guns. Please post link of that cover photo if you have it.
I thought, turntables and mics were their guns.
