  • Damn, its unfortunate that the HVAC has to be that damn loud. This bus sounds fantastic nonetheless for a hybrid. I wish we had some buses in the LFR series but we are looking towards NovaBus and their LFS series, which are pretty good and strong buses.

    Nice video man. Keep up the good work!

  • I 2nd that---meaning---I hate it when the HVAC is loud but meh---I'll just have to deal with it.

    Lucky y'all that MTA is STILL getting artics. We're not getting any more artics but I really hope that METRO will consider looking at the LFS hybrids like what Vancouver's Translink has.

  • what about New Flyers?

  • Well---it depends on if METRO will ever buy New Flyers again. One will have to ask them that question. If they do, it would be cool because of the new low-profile battery pack now being seen on any New Flyer diesel-electric hybrid bus.

  • how much do the buses you all bought cost? alot of money?

  • I can't say exactly but yes, it is a lot of money. It'll depend on how many of whatever bus models METRO wants. Of course hybrids cost more than diesels.

  • You're the only one putting Houston on the map right now! Please post more of all the METRO buses!!!

  • Thanks man! Hopefully tomorrow, I'll upload the vids of my ride on a 45xx Neoplan AN460 artic bus. The bus # was 4540---my favorite bus---mainly because the number sounds catchy to me for some strange reason. ;-)

  • Awesome video! Now this is the way your vids should be from now on!!!

  • Thanks! BTW, I should of sat on the left side so when one of those Quickline buses go the other way, I can capture them. I may start to do some exterior vids of buses passing by.

  • these 1 of da new/recent janks?

  • janks? I don't understand. If you're talking about the route itself being new, it started on June 1st.

    The bus? Not new but it was recently retrofitted with frameless windows before the wrap was applied to the bus.

  • yeah i was talkin about the bus, when did Houston METRO purchased it?

  • '07. In other words, they're '07 models.

  • didnt they buy some new buses recently?

  • Yes but the orders are still ongoing. Here's the new rides METRO is currently getting:

    MCI D4500CTH=>5001-5102

    Orion VII Next Generation HEV=>3601-3696.

  • @htownman24 what do frameless windows suppose 2 do?

  • don't forget about Orion VII NG HEV 4601-4680 coming this year

  • Yes, I know about that. In fact, the buses are in production as we speak and I was told by someone who works at Orion that they'll look the same as what we have now.
