I was playing this game last night actually, sounds so good on a big stereo, this game was meant to be blasted and enjoyed at full volume. Hitting a wall at 478kmph is intense when the bass goes THUD THUD THUD THUD THUD.... fucking Fire Field. :D
F Zero will always be etched in my memory. My memories of video games are the only ones that aren't tarnished. When I play, they take me to my happy place X3 Thank you so much for saving the music from them, there's no way I can thank you enough!
@MrVideogamerns64gw i would have to agree with you on that. it encapsulates the excitement, danger and competition spirit of being in a race and is also just so damn good to listen to!
best time I ever got was 2'02'10 mute city. lol tried hard for years to get up to that point & now you look at youtube 1 day & find out people had my best time for breakfest! (bumping/boosting of course). lol man world rankings really tame the confidence of game players.
nobody can boast & get away with It in this day & age lol
whats everyones favorite cars? i love capton falcons vehicle, but i tested over and over on mute city 1, and come to the conclusion that the pink car holds the highest top speed throughout the map.
This was the first game to that ever indicated I have a mild form of epilepsy. that still didnt stop me from spending the next 19 years gaming my ass off
f-zero had such an amazing soundtrack, i remember turning the volume loud as hell and when i crashed that massive "BOOM!" almost through me out of the fuckin room every single time.
beware the bass line that begins at 1:03, ive literally had it stuck in my head for around 18 years or so, seriously. beware that bass line or it will consume your mind. forever.oh ive said too much.
I bought a SNES about a year ago, as I just missed all of these games so much. I managed to find F-Zero still in it's box and factor seal. I almost felt bad to open it, haha.

I swear to god, this was the best time EVER to be a kid. Get home from school, watch Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, do some homework, sit down and play some NES...ahhh good times...I miss being a kid, fuck this adult shit. I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME!! <3
man I love this game. To this day I still play it to relieve stress. I just zen the fuck out and drive, bouncing off of walls to pass the flashing pink cars.
Sonic 1 and 2, Mario 1, 2, 3, World, Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart, Golden Axe 2, Streets of Rage 1 and 2, Street Fighter 2, F-Zero, Zelda A Link to the past, Zelda Ocarina of time, Zelda Wind Waker, Zelda Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxy, New Mario Bros DS and Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Smash Bros Brawl, Final Fight, Super Mario 64, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Altered Beast, Gex, Moonwalker, Tiny Toon,
i don't really like that they iused trumpets instead of guitar samples like the gba version.but the aggan look at how old this game is at the time it was probably very cool.
This was when I loved racing games to death if it weren't for this game we would not have Daytona USA or Ridge Racer or burnout this was probably one of the game that started off this arcade racing style now you don't see many of these racing games anymore, now its just racing sim bullshit like Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsport they had some fun racing games in the 90s I tell ya:)
I'm not a big fan of racing games, honestly, I find a lot of them boring, but you're spot on with what you said about nowadays being all racing sim crap. They need more fun arcadey racers, as I enjoy Burnout and F-Zero immensely.
I don't want to tweak various aspects of my car or inflate the tyres myself or pick what kind of spoilers should go on it, give me a hovering 500mph vehicle any day over that shit!
shit man I know, I play f-zero and top gear 3000 when I wanna play a racing game even though I own the new consoles. Same with rpgs... I weep for the future of video games
Second greatest game ever created man this kicks sooo much ass they have newer version for gamecube, but even GX can't beat this i would rather play this than GX anyday!
yeah, I'm waiting.. .hope the big N does not decide to drop F-zero all-together because the pre-teens among us think it's too hard and prefer crap like "cooking mama" instead...
Yeah dude! i thought i was fast never mind my mute city record was like 1min 59sec. i thought i was the only one to do the whole cutting thing. Im not as fast as i used to be now i hit 2min 1sec mark! LOl i need more practice. So yeah your doubt is correct.
I loved this game back in the day, it was the first snes game that I bought, due to lack of games for the snes apon release. Thanks to Electronic gaming monthly magazine I got turned on to Japanese import games (super famicon) and got a lot of games before they hit the US shores, and at that time if you wanted to play Japanese games you had to modify your console to do so, so I took my soldering iron and melted the two plastic blocks inside the console so I could play the games.
It's such as shame to me that the Port Town level theme wasn't used as a tune in the game "Super Smash Bros. Brawl"... It would have been perfect to use in the game!
Is there another game like this for the SNES? I remember playing a game like this as a kid, but I can't tell if it was this one, or another. All I'm sure about is that it had the same futuristic car racing look.
Sorta. There's a very similar game called Hyperzone, for the SNES with great music too, though it's a shooter and not really a racing game. It makes use of the MODE 7 (that pseudo 3d effect we have for fzero too). Check it out on youtube.
Thanks man, I looked into it here. Didn't look anywhere near as familiar to me as F-Zero. I guess it's official, I played F-Zero growing up, awesome. Much obliged, freezehawk2.
I never got to play this game, but I did play F-Zero X, and that game supplied Endless joy and laughter, =] Heck, even with all these xbox 360 games and ps3, we still pull out the old games and have a blast that the new games just can't give.
I got into F-Zero quite a bit, although I sucked at it. The only music I really got into was Big Blue (epic stuff and the SSBM remix is awesome) and Mute City.
Falcon punch thing gets as old as Chuck Norris jokes (at least Chuck jokes have some creativity). In the game he's a race car driver, but the Falcon Punch thing came from some anime (typing in Falcon Punch on Youtube brings it up ASAP), which is just a punch that blows up the world.
