i saw it yesterday...it was ok. not the best show on broadway. sherie was great as ursula but seemed to completely loose interest during act 2. the one who played ariel was great, so was sebastian and flounder. flotsam and jetsam were the gayest men i've ever seen in a musical and king triton's voice was a little too...annoying. it definitely had some great moments though

I think Sherie's AMAZING in this role! She's brought a completely different interpretation to that of Pat Carol and is more vampy. She has attitude and is the sort of actress I feel who we can see immediately has a point of view when she is on stage. SHERIE! SHERIE! SHERIE!

There are so few good roles out there for plus-sized performers---even as there are more and more plus-sized people out there. Ursula is supposed to be huge, fascinatingly corpulent, and with a deep booming voice. Why would Disney cast a thin actress with a high voice to play Ursula in this musical? Then again, perhaps it's not such a surprise when you consider that Disney Store employees have to "maintain an appropriate body weight, so as not to distract from the displays."

I've seen this show in nyc, and I can say that she honestly stole the show. She fit the role very well, unless you've seen the show then I think it's hard to say whether or not she fits the part.
