@geemangerard Hell yeah! JVC RC-M70 with separate Bass and Treble, 7 Watts per Channel, woofers, tweeters, 10 D-cells and the best ever sound from a boombox!
Man, how in the world do yall hold on 2 these old joints--haven't heard this since it came out 30yrs ago--been searching u-tube for 3yrs and couldn't cum up with the title or artist---BIG UPS my friend
@bubblinbrownsuga66 Rick James should not have been legally allowed to do a song called "17.” but, no, it's this Bill Summers song that i'm remembering. i just always assumed it was Rick James.
Yep. This song takes me WAY back to the spring of 1982. This cut was played quite a bit at the great but long defunct Silk's in Emeryville (Powell Street exit). Ahh, those WERE days! (And as a Bay Area native now living elsewhere, this song also makes me homesick.)
Thanks for posting this, Bozawa!
Sad thing is, I owned a copy of this LP but it was stolen along with about 100 other Vinyl LPs and 12-inch sigle recordings my ex and I purchased from the mid-1970s through the mid-80s!
Jammin' the JVC Boombox to KSOL or KDIA and waiting for the AC Transit to pick me up. Ahhhh... Good Times :)

@mellowildwood Rick James did have a song titled 17. It was a different song than this, but may be what you remember.

Bill Summers Heat was the Bomb! It seems like OutKast uses a little of this style today.
