I think its a great Video,I'm sure it took a long time to create and there's a lot that really sounds similar. But I wouldn't say it's a competition or something likes that, cause you don't really have that much space to have your very own riff noone else uses or used before. So noone is better or something when they use the same chords, each band uses them in another way, and thats what counts, right?
NONE of offsprings songs sound like NOFX riffs.....offsprings riffs are way more heavier while nofx is like more poppyer punk (ik there punk but the guitar isnt very intense like offsprings)

Sum 41 is my fav band of all time and I know some of there songs do sound like other ones but there are no original ideas anymore. Half of the sum 41 songs and half of the other songs in this video could of been used in this video...type in Axis of Awesome - 4 Four Chord Song (with song titles)
1.)the "american idiot" and "underclass hero" comparison... "american idiot",both song and cd, were released on 2006. "underclass hero" (song) and "subject to change" (another Sum 41's song, from Chuck) has almost the same melody, and "Chuck" was released on 2004, I mean, UnderclassHero is not (my personal opinion) influenced by American Idiot.
2.)I doubt Sum 41 has been influenced by My Chemical Romance (but who knows..)

Plus, it's not like Sum's the only and that has had similarities with other band's songs. You be hard pressed to find a band that hasn't done this at all.
I'm a big fan of Sum 41 and I have no problem with this video. Another similarity that you can add is Slayer's Raining Blood and Sum 41's 88. The breakdown at the end is quite similar (even the guitar solos)
The Nickelback comparsion doesn't really sound the same. Also the "Take a look at yourself" Green day comparision isn't very good. To me, the comparsion was more like American Idiot, but you can disagree with me. Also, the Everytime I look At you comparision with This is Goodbye doesn't sound the same except the bass line and the last words in the verse. Strange thing is that Blink-182, Sum 41, Ismfof (They have nothing to do with the video, lol), and Green day are my Main Favorite bands.

Plus, it's not like Sum's the only and that has had similarities with other band's songs. You be hard pressed to find a band that hasn't done this at all.

I'm a big fan of Sum 41 and I have no problem with this video. Another similarity that you can add is Slayer's Raining Blood and Sum 41's 88. The breakdown at the end is quite similar (even the guitar solos)

The Nickelback comparsion doesn't really sound the same. Also the "Take a look at yourself" Green day comparision isn't very good. To me, the comparsion was more like American Idiot, but you can disagree with me. Also, the Everytime I look At you comparision with This is Goodbye doesn't sound the same except the bass line and the last words in the verse. Strange thing is that Blink-182, Sum 41, Ismfof (They have nothing to do with the video, lol), and Green day are my Main Favorite bands.

the thing is - every fucking where you go, the "new'er" bands nowadays will always have some of the older generation bands in them. Because things gets "used" up.
I mean, think about it. In 100 years. There will be so much similarities that it will be REALLY hard to write music.
I'm a "musician" myself, and i Know it's hard to do stuff that no one else has done before.
