  • man u must be putting a WHOLE LOT OF effort in this video, finding all the highlights from both players with the same moves, blocks, dunks, footwork, three pointer and destroying Shaq lol (i'm a huge fan of Shaq btw).. absolutely fantastic! thumbs up!

  • thx thekurtman, this video is brilliant.

  • Song Was Fucking Sick!!!

  • yao ming=ralph sampson

  • dream shake, he really had successfully got it

  • @mnsa0676 amen

  • lol at yao's reaction to being picked first in the draft

  • GENETICALLY MADE YAO MING SCIENCE

  • Two greatest Centers in Rockets' history. (No disrespect to Ralph Sampson, but that's how I feel)

  • 3:40 dirk slapped it out of his then backed up

  • 1:12. You would think only a point-guard could make that kind of movie. Guess he proved us wrong. It's my favorite.

I miss Yao. He was such a great center.

  • Wow... I didn't realize how similar all of their moves were!!! o.O That's amazing!

  • Perfect yin yang~~

  • Yao had more one-on-one personal working with Hakeem than any other. Hakeem has helped Yao in more than just the game too.

  • WOW NICE VID!!!!

  • not enough clips of how great they were at PASSING...

  • haha why did it take me half way through the video to realize they both played for houston

  • @Shaun56beast cuz ur stupid?

  • Yao Ming is just like Tracy McGrady. When healthy, Yao is much better than Dwight Howard, Tracy McGrady is much better than LeBron. But injuries, if those damn injuries didn't happen, Yao Ming, T-Mac and the rockets would still be in the playoffs, still love Kevin Martin though.

  • @dm319756 kevin martin and aaron brocks luis scola ariza yao ming those are my best player in houston rocket their awwweeessssooommmee

  • my buddies aunt is one of hakeems wives. Met her his only year in Toronto.

  • 3:28 -3:33 hakeem and yao blocked shaq... wahhahaha

  • There is one single word that explains it all: TECHNIQUE.

Hakeem was obviously very skilled and very gifted (height, speed, quickness, intelligence and so on), attributes that Yao does also have, in a smaller scale.

However, both of them clearly display(ed) BASKETBALL FUNDAMENTALS: quick view, footwork, spinning, high post, strategic understanding and discipline.

America's lacking of all of those items is what's making'em have such embarrassing results on international events lately.

  • Sucks Yao's career has been derailed by all the injuries. He could've been a serious 25 and 10 player. The guy's got tons of heart and skill but damn, if it weren't for those knees. There's no telling where he and the Rockets could be right now.

  • @tokinblckgie he was a 25 10 guy for 1 season then he got injuried in 09 he could have taken the rockets to finals if he hadnt gotten injuried in game 4 of the semifinals

  • Love the shaq one :D

  • what a great video. thanks!

  • good job man. nice video

  • You do a diservice to Hakeem even putting Yao Ming in the same video or sentence for that matter. Ming is not worthy of holding Hakeem's dirty underware after a hot 4 hour practice!

  • @Catface91 What are you talking about dude? Its not his fault he was playing in the Olympics as well as all season with the Rockets in his "healthier" years. Yao Ming was still a dominant center. It was just short lived.

  • @Catface91 dont get pissed for nothing cat shit

  • @singhisking853 "Cat shit" Wow you came up with that all by yourself your did you need help?

  • wow i didnt even realize this good video

  • Yao's pretty much done. Which is a shame, he was an awesome player. He'll pretty much become the commissioner for China's basketball league when he retires.

  • Yao Ming really was the second over 7 foot 6 centre to have true potential offensively and defensively. The first was manute bol.

  • I find it such a shame that the injuries Yao had to have is having such an effect on his career. He was on his way to become one of the better centers in the league.

I sure hope that he will get better from his injuries, and that we get a chance to see him play basketball again.

  • Yao is as much of a "successor" to Dream as Dwight Howard is to Shaq. Both a fuckin joke with limited potential. Gimme a break you fuckin faggit thekurtman31

  • @YouGotJEWD Read his video description, stupid.

  • i wish yao wasnt so injury prone i always loved the rockets and adds so much more to their game

  • impressive post!

  • wow! great video. Nice finding them do the same moves haha

  • i loved yao when he was healthy. one of the best big man ever in the nba.

  • whats the name of the song?

  • i love this video!!... song jams!!

  • yao ming is suck

  • Amazed. You got every play mimicked down to the exact detail. Great great job for creating this video. You are a true Rocket fan. Thank you.

  • that was fucken amazing!

  • 2:16 SPEECHLESS. DAMN

  • man those double blocks are killer

  • i love hakeem and yao, great players and ive grown up watchin them play and they never cease to amaze

  • Honestly, Yao Ming really is the best center in the league right now. Even if he IS injured, hes still the best. Then again that can all change with this coming season.

  • I love this video its awesome...arguably Yao Ming is the best center in the league today...

  • I wish Yao can be healthy all the time because very few big guys can move like he can and have the same kind of dominant presence on the court. Hakeem Olajuwon...enough said!

  • great video but the music is just bullshit!!!!

  • Hakeem was teaching moves so Im sure it rubed off..Hakeems still teaches other players today..Just the other day a comentator says Dwight Howard gets lessons from Hakeem....

  • yuck to niggers...

  • nice footage

  • for a Aisan,Yao had done really great job.

    we don't have a strong body,and nasty speed,either.

Yao is more than only height.

i tried my best to explain what i think with english.

if you can't understand what i am talking about, and i feel sorry to my poor english

  • @ywl1006key 你有幾個單詞拼錯了 an asian 我是看懂了

  • @MrMarcocaofanhua 謝謝您的提醒,

  • great players,great vid!

  • omg, you´ve done a really hard work, they have similar moves but hakeem knew how to use them, with more coordination, and a strenght and elegancy out of this world, hakeem the dream is unequalable, but hey great job!

  • Yao mig is great, second best center in the lst decade, behind shaq, but hakeem is just the dream... BEST EVER

  • I would say Yao only has the height advantage... other than that Hakeem is the better player hands down... the dream had mad skills and was a big man that moved like a PG

  • This is a great video. Consider that Olajuwon is among Yao's idols along with Sabonis and Barkley (can someone correct me if I am wrong on Barkley)?

Damn, the 2:17 moves by Olajuwon and Yao are just sick! Far sicker than a high flying dunk because footwork require such dedication and it is the greatest weapon for people who aren't athletic. I'd say Luis Scola has the best footwork in current NBA for 4 or 5.

  • yao is a much better shooter

look at career ft%: hakeem- .712, yao- .832

i think that yao has a even better offensive game, i'm talking abt skills and moves here, not numbers........

BUT yao cant block shots nor rebound like hakeem,

    look at career rpg & bpg: hakeem- 11.10 & 2.96, yao- 9.30 & 1.94.

this is why hakeem is at a higher level.

however, i still think that if yao'll get rings and possibly mvps if he's in a better team AND if he stays healthy, but defensive player of the year? NEVER

  • @hk117 Oh god, I think I just threw up a little.

Yao better offensively than hakeem? Are you fucking kidding me?

The dream shake was unstopable, yao has NOTHING on the dream shake.

  • @Basch152 Agree

  • wow so true. but I think hakeem's moves are a little bit more polish. Yao should work to have a leaner physique. that way he'd be able to move faster.

  • Both are ultimate warriors. What Olajuwon has and Yao doesn't is a ring. A clear cut championship ring for winners. And I'm really confident that Yao will get that ring in the near future. Cause they are two true warriors.

  • @Alexwkj yao will definitely get a ring soon if he stays healthy for an entire season

which i have to admit, is quite unlikely

  • Yao win and ownz

  • Successor

    1. a person or thing that succeeds or follows.

    2. a person who succeeds another in an office, position, or the like.

Just means next in line, no one's saying he's better here.

  • found it!

    Nonpoint

    Alive and Kicking

  • name of the Track/ Band?

    please?*****

  • i'm sure of that everybody will remember yao even if he retire. I like that big man!

  • LOL. your really good at observing. Every position is important. But center is one of the most important position. Pshhh blocks some balls and grab rebound???? LOL your funny. And how is yao like a point guard LOL your hella funny. I don't know what kind of basketball you're watching. Do you have any clue how basketball is played??????

  • REPLYING TO: Rulindasheng

P.S. to people who AGREE with me -->THUMBS UP

  • @rulindasheng Yao Train with Olajuwon

  • @rulindasheng how many centers in the league right now can consistently hit fade away shots?

  • @Grady01 alot, you need to watch more nba, instead of focusing on rocket too much

  • @rulindasheng lol named them. Bet you can't name more than five.

  • @Grady01 i think u should name those who couldnt do and i will show them they could

    please name them

  • @rulindasheng

show you that they could do*

  • @rulindasheng I said CONSISTENTLY, so you got nothing. As of right now there might 3 centers who can do those moves in the video consistently.

  • "Hakeem? You don't solve Hakeem."

    -David Robinson.

  • Olajuwon is better ... he was more natural off the ball. Had sweeter moves.

  • was hakeem a good shooter?

  • @magerhein yes.

  • @magerhein very much so his fadeaway was gorgeous

  • Nice compilation mate

  • 1:23 hope the camera is all right!

  • never compare hakeem to anyone..his is the best

  • 1:36 yao should dunk like that from now on

  • Wow , what fucking great video ,,,,,, the exact same moves , from two of the best centers of all time .

    Exellent video.

  • He'd own your ass.

  • very nice, would have taken some time to get all those clips.

  • nice mix

  • great job putting this together!

  • Allen Iverson? lol just thank god you're not a manager. I rather keep Yao Ming, if I would trade Yao i'll trade him for Dwight Howard.

  • I'm stupid? Learn to spell buddy. lol, how old are you? 13? Have you seen Yao play lately? He is not the 2002 Yao or from his first 3 years. Yao is a different Player I mean have you seen him play lately? He's been playing pretty good and only missed like two games last season, but I rather keep him than Iverson. He hasn't done nothing even when he was with the Nuggets. They were a bad team with him untill the nuggets traded him for Billups, what happened then? Nuggets when to the west finals.

  • I'm talking about lately, i'm not talking about before and don't you mean you're NOT your? lol. I rather keep Yao than Iverson, but to trade him i'll trade him for a player like Howard not sure who but i'll trade him. Sure Igoudala dunked on him, but other great hall of fame centers got dunked on too. Its not about who gets dunked on is about who finishes games Yao finishes games well. Did you even saw Yao vs Howard last season? Yao won both games against Orlando he put some great numbers.

  • lol but you;re saying it like it is though. we will not get someone as good as Dwight for an injury prone

  • lol?

  • Great video but the song is beyond terrible.

  • it actually rocks

  • Yao Ming is a good player, the reason why he is soft sometimes is because of his height. When you are 7'6 the game is slow, if Yao was like 6'11 he would be dominating on everybody. But still Yao plays good for a 7'6 guy compare to others eapecially Bradley.

  • Maybe you have to read the description. "It's just meant to represent SOME similarities in their games". So what fucking moron?

And do you know what does "The Successor" mean?? So 1+1=2 and this title=bullshit.

  • Oh yes, thank you.

And what about you..a real genius who think yao is the successor of hakeem. Yeah, your are my basketball hero..plz teach me something about this sport plz!

  • description motherfucker

    read it

"Keep in mind this video is NOT meant to say that Yao = Hakeem."

  • Trash talking again, you are a really friendly user. How old are you? 13?

Read the next line kid: "It's just meant to represent SOME similarities in their games". And do you know what does "The Successor" mean? The words have meanings, so if i read "Successor" and then "Similiarities" what i have to think?!?!?!

  • oh wow youre original

the video just showed similar plays from both players. are you fucking blind, or did you just come here to troll without watching the video.

  • Yao did become stronger and more powerful...but he lost his speed and agility...it's really a shame...he should take some time to think who he really is and how to best use the gift to express himself on the court. Too many people wants him to become a muscle man in NBA, that's not his strength, and maybe that's why he gets injured all the time.

  • two great beasts

  • Nice editing. Love both players.

Probably good though that everything was in slow-mo coz The Dream was way quicker then Yao hehe.

  • 1:34 Hakeem on Manute.

  • i miss hakeem. best player to ever play for houston by far

  • good video but the title is wrong, sorry yao but hakeem is the dream

  • The title is wrong? The title does not say Yao is as good as Hakeem so no...

  • good edit...good video...

  • dwight howard is just a player for allstar game

  • Yao ming has great bal handeling skils especialy for a 7'6 guy or is it just me

  • sniff*

    the dream shake.

    is a thing of beauty

  • 3:35 to 3:45 frikin dirty foulers

  • There's maybe a simple explanation, Hakeem Olajuwon was the best TECHNICAL center of all time, and Yao Ming is playing like him because Hakeem had the best thechnical game a center can ever have. That's why Yao Ming is one of the top centers in the league, and aguably the best technical center.

  • great video keep up the good work :)

  • wow.. nice video man!

you really impressed me with this!

  • nice video....i like"big dream"~~~~and yao,not so bad,but not as great as big dream~~~they r different type~~

  • pk....after watching this video, this makes me wonders......did yao ming imitates hakkem?

  • well why wouldn't he want to?

  • Loving this video with one of my favorite players of all time HAKEEM! (along with Majic Johnson). It's cool that Hakeem worked with Yao at his Big Man's Camp. So sad the bad 'break' Yao is getting. Literally and figuratively!

  • Yao has very narrow, low shoulders that's probably why he doesn't look as tall as he actually is which 7,5". Mark Eaton is only 7,4" but he looks more massive because of his broad, high shoulders. Yao's reach doesn't long and high for his height.

  • yes, dw got the best freethrow

  • 4 real...great post...yao is the best center in the league...fuck dwight howard...lol..

  • great video. amazing job finding all the simlar plays and moves

  • This is great video.

  • greatttttttttttt video man this is golden

  • This is a fantastic vid. I liked how you found so many similar plays between the two.

  • great! You got nerves!

  • blame it to chinese government..

  • too bad Yao ming's career is pretty much over now...hes out for more than a year again. I doubt he will ever achieve his potential because of his injuries...I like yao, but its over now.

  • how do you he is over? you have eyes that can see the future? :(

  • its ok my chinese friend...denial is the first step, then comes anger and acceptance. nonetheless, yao was good while he lasted. chienese nba fans must be going crazy

  • 1:28 = Rape

  • That was the best Yao Ming vid ive seen 5/5 and favorited

  • Freaking awesome video :)

    5 out of 5

  • Hey guys, here's a question for all! Who's 3 pointer was better? Yao's or Hakeem's?

  • Both Hakeem and Yao are AMAZING Centers! =)

  • If Yao's foot would have stayed in one piece maybe the Lakers wouldn't be champions...

  • Freaking Awesome video.

  • haha 3:29-3:33. They are both on shaq.

  • 1:11 Wtf when could Yao move that fast, and cross over someone?!

  • yup he done it 3 times already that good he is.Go rockets!!!

  • man!! tight video!!

  • haha abdur-rahim got crossed with that behind the back

  • 1:03-1:05........

    camelo anthony got owned XD

  • Hakeem was the best center of all time. Yao still has great potential, he's gotten much tougher and has developed a much better post offense, and if T-Mac and Yao can stay healthy, the Rockets can (well could have been) a dynasty

  • In my opinion Hakeem Olajuwon is the best center in historrrrrrry! He was the only guy with the center body and height that moves like a freaaaakin point gaurd!!!! What more can be asked?!?!?

  • Not only moves...

His Hand is also as fast as a point guard...

  • wow at 3.54. Only Young Yao can do that. Now he is too old to do that.

  • man on 1:28 he did not know what hit him

  • hellllll ya!

  • best mix!
