  • I always found timothy dalton very boring as bond. He"s got no sence of humor. He only shows two side of bond: either serious ore pissed off. The other actors had some kind of combination of humor and the serious. Sean connery and casino royales: daniel craig has in my mind the best combination

  • From Russia with Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service and The Living Daylights are the best James Bond films of the series.

  • Michael Foltz looks like Terry Silver.

  • I personally liked Licence To Kill, I thought it was excellent.

  • Nice Reviews. Though I was wondering Edwin, how come you think The spy who Loved me is silly, but liked Ocutopussy and Diamonds are Forever? I thought the only silly scenes in that movie were the music playing as they are driving the van after getting the crap beat out of it by Jaws and some of Jaws things, but I thought it was a pretty serious Film and Roger more's second most serious movie.

  • 3 guys with no talent ripping Bond films.

  • Actually, The Spy Who Loved Me rips off Gerry Anderson's script for Moonraker written after Golden Gun was in production. Anderson was threatening to sue Broccoli for plagiarism, but backed out when realizing that Broccoli had a powerful legal team behind him.

Saltzman loved Anderson's script and it was going to be the next Bond film. Broccoli made "Spy" instead because Saltzman ended his partnership with him.

  • Although License to kill has its silly moments, they are few and far between and the darker more human approach work really well for this movie I thought. It needed better and more creative direction in certain areas though. The final action scenes with the trucks was fantastic stuff. Its a movie that really grows on you over time.

  • Have to agree with Eric Cohen about 'Licence To Kill'.

  • MoonRaker is wrongly regarded as campy and silly. Yet its not silly at all, may except The space thing, but thats only at the end.

There are WAY more... WAY WAY more campy Bond films:

    You Only Live Twice

    Diamonds Are Forever

    Live And Let Die

    MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN

  • OMG what a bunch of LOSERS... especially the guy in the middle. Mr Movie Critic Wannabee....

  • The Taliban were a splinter group of the larger collection of rebel forces in Afghanistan known collectively as the Mujaheddin. After they defeated the Russians they began fighting each other and the Taliban eventually won control. So it isn't necessarily accurate to say they were the Taliban.

  • these guys are idiots. their biggest criticsm of each film is "he looked too old". and they liked A VIEW TO A KILL which is the worst Bond film.

  • Hey, jerk! WE FRIGGIN' HATE A VIEW TO A KILL!!

Are you friggin's nuts?!!! What show were you watching?

  • License to Kill DID NOT FEEL like a Bond film!

  • Lol! A VIEW TO A KILL was the first Bond film I saw in the theater.

  • I love Moonraker! For one, it has some great stunt sequences in it!

  • Octopussy came out before Never Say Never Again.

  • I really like LTK. IMO this is the film that Diamonds Are Forever should have been with Bond out for revenge after what happened to Tracy Bond. Yep Dalton got shafted by the producers.

I have to say though that I hated NSNA. Thunderball is such a great film and one of the very best imo. Fatima Blush is the best thing in NSNA, but compare her to TBs Fiona Volpe and it's a no contest as Volpe wins hands down

  • Roger Moore is 007

  • The biggest problem with License To Kill: the bad guy was COOLER than Bond!!

  • Of all the Bond films Licence To Kill is definately the "marmite" of the lot, people either hate it or love it. Even though it is a very good action movie it really isnt a bond movie in my opinion. Plus Dalton isnt nearly as cool in it as he was in The Living Daylights, he was the man in that one.

  • After the success of TSWLM, Broccoli's words to the production team were to make the same-only better. What they made was the same-only worse. The big problem with MOONRAKER is that every effort is consciously geared to exceed everything that had gone before. To add to this, the decision was made to return Jaws to the story. Jaws escaped alive from impossible feat after impossible feat. It was an unbelievable farce.

  • Agreed - Moonraker is god awful in just about every way.

For Your Eyes only is, without question, Roger Moore's best Bond movie... Although the "funky" soundtrack is completely dire.

Licence to Kill, however, is most definitely one of my favourites on the Bond series.

  • for your eyes only - brilliant, the first serious roger moore bond, and i think, probably the best bond off all.

  • License to Kill was a damn good Bond movie. Sanchez was a cool villain and violence is more violent. Awesome.

  • I'm sorry to tell you, but License to Kill is not a good movie. Not at all. Even the Felix Leiter stuff was handled poorly.

  • I like Moonraker as an over the top adventure film but not as a Bond film. They should have just adapted the novel instead of trying to cash in on the success of Star Wars.

  • Edwin:

It is not possible that Never Say Never Again was the first Bond film you saw in theaters if you also saw Octopussy in the theater. Octopussy was released before NSNA. OP came out in June and NSNA was released in October.

  • You forget one thing - when movies were released way back when, they played for months. I saw NSNA first and then saw Octopussy a little while later as I really enjoyed NSNA. Octopussy was still playing after all those months.

I miss when films would play for a year. Hell, ET played for over a year at some places. Today, movies are in and out of the theaters in a week.

  • I'm not a Flemming purist. Bond films should be about fantasy and escapism. They should be fast paced adventures and Moonraker is just that. I love that it's over the top. It's meant to be! It's a Great Bond film if you just check your pretention at the door and go along for the ride.

  • For Your Eyes Only is actually my favorite Roger Moore bond.

  • hollywood saloon cover this better, thank you very much

  • I must say, I agree with left guy - completely. In everything.

    'Nuff said.
