  • i have a sirious question my female is pregnant and has cherry eye and infection in her eye the vet said they cant do nothing till she delivers what do i do????

  • I can't do it! i try like 4 times..

  • that looks so easy, !!! i'm going to try on my lil chihuahua!!

  • THANKS so so much for posting video my 20 week old eye is all clear now. Will it come back ?

  • Thank you so much for this video, my Pomeranian had a cherry eye for the first time tonight and I followed your instructions and although it took a dozen attempts it worked :)

  • It's not working when we do it,but it looks exactly like cherry eye. We used eye drops to lubricate it and spent several minutes on it, but it looks no better. Any ideas?

  • Thank you SO much for your video! I have a 8 months old English Bulldog that just out of the blue developed a cherry eye. I started to panic thinking that I need to rush him to the vet. But I decided to google it first. Can across your video and gave it a try. It worked perfectly!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!

  • Hnng. I've got a english bulldog puppy with cherry eye in both eyes. I've tried to reseat the glands (with varying success) but she won't hold still unless i sneak up her while she's asleep.

  • Seriously! You are the greatest. Thank you so much. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video. Best from the Saffords!

  • Question is this a short term fix? Is it going to keep popping out?

  • Idk what to do guys! My Bulldog has it too. But ppl are saying get surgery or just push it back in. Im so helpless right. Can you give me some advice? Thanks.

  • sweet took seriously like 2 sec thnx dude

  • wow, that was an easy fix. thanks for the vid

  • Thanks man. My bulldog got surgery on his and it popped out again and we don't have the money to do it again. Your bulldog is beautiful by the way.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH THANK YOU SO MUCH THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!! AT FIRST I COULDNT DO IT AND MY FAMILY GAVE UP THEN I SWITCHED HANDS ON FIXING IT THEN IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!!!!!!!! IM SO HAPPY!!!!!I WATCHED A COUPLE OF VIDEOS AND THIS WAS ONE OF THEM THAT HELPED A LOT!!!! LOTS OF $ HAS BEEN SAVED!!! <3~MY FAMILY AND ME

  • Push down on the bottom lid or the top lid? this isnt working for me my puppies eyes look like im pushing them out of place and they are soooo red. Someone please help. her eyes feel like their buldged out.

  • @richjasonjones:If your not entirely sure of what your doing it's best to not do anything. But I believe the idea is to gently push the "cherry" part back into the corner of the eye. If it's not moving, do NOT force it. Your dog's eye is red because it's been irritated, under no circumstances should you purposefully touch the eye directly. Your pushing the eyelid not the eye. Even if your not willing to get the surgery go see your veterinarian about "pushing" it back in.

  • OMG! I'm so glad I found this!!!! My cat and dog were fighting earlier and I've been crying my eyes out for hours thinking that my dog was gonna go blind and that I need to pay a vet bill. I'm still gonna get him checked out but I was so scared that my cat hurt my dog so bad.. My dog has never had one of these before and I've been looking over his eye and don't see scratches just the cherry eye.. thanks for this, i'll still get him checked though just in case..

  • Thanks for the video! it took 2 sec to fix our puppies cherry eye!

  • This is amazing, we were so worried our vet told us that our dog needs 2000 dollar surgery to fix his cherry eye. We dont have the money and didn't know what to do, this video helped so much!! Thank you!

  • thank you so much my girlfriend got it on the first try thanks to your video my bulldog is 10 weeks old thank you again by the way her name is maggie..

  • Thank you so much!

  • Thanks you so much for posting this, I was kind of freaking out and now my baby it beautiful again!

  • THANK YOU!

  • Omg thank you so much. I was very worried because i thought i might of poked him in the eye or something but i was so happy i found out i could help my doggy with this ;D. But, His eye is still red and tearing up is that normal?

  • so easy...thank you!!

  • I just got up this morning and one of my dogs puppies had this I looked up pictures which led me to a name for it which lead me to this video thanks I am going to go try it now.... I was panicking when I was reading surgery etc I was like hes 4 weeks old... so yeah thank you

  • MY bulldog has a cherry eye. I havn't tried this technique but I brought him to the vet. The vet gave us ointment and said if it continues in a month that my english bully will need surgery at $250! Should I try put it back into place or should I leave it along? HELP!

  • @jessem166 Putt it back in its easy and if you have the ointment its even easier.....

  • @jaysontampa But will surgery fix it from constatly popping back out? I got it in there a little better not all the way and it looks better. He doesn't act like it is bothering him at all he is just a pain to hold still. But if I get it in there will it constatly pop back out on a regular basis?

  • A big thanks for this vid.

My Bully has a touch of cherry eye, usually they go back in when she sleeps but have been really bad recently

I like many others was worried that it was going to be a case of taking her to the vets to have her eyes chopped about with. Not any longer.......

  • I HAD MINE CHOPPED OFF THE OTHER DAY BUT MY DOGS ONE WERE COVERING HALF HIS EYES

  • Thanx so much will try it on my bulldog x

  • The cherry eye popped back out at the end but went back in.

  • Thanks so much for the video man! Just helped fix my 4 month old cocker puppy!

  • AH!! I shall try this on my dog later! I kept massaging it, and it slowly keeps coming back.. :|

  • thanx al lot!!!!

my little bull has a cherry eye and it came back all the time...

    But this helps 4 real!!

    And now its gone!

    thanx!!!

  • Thank you SO much! This worked perfectly on my chihuahua/king charles

  • Thank you for posting this video! It worked!!!! So happy I don't have to take her to the vet. Woohoo. Thank you -thank you -thank you!!!

  • Thanks I do not care what some people could say about your helpful video thanks and your girl is so cute

  • this dog is so sweet

  • does the treatment have the same affect on a young puppy>?>?

  • Thanks! Taking the time to explain cherry eye on youtube was awesome.

  • Thank for the vid is very great! and nice dog ;)

  • My bulldog just had surgery a couple of days ago for cherry eye on his right eye...and today the left one started to pop out...I did this massage and it worked!

I dont know if it'll need surgery later on

  • Thank you so much! I was considering surgery until I say this demonstration.

  • wow! thats it?! I have a 4 month old bulldog that just got cherry eye. Im due to take him to the vet tomorrow for his eye but im gonna try this right now.. thanks

  • me and my husband love you long time! I just fixed my dogs stupid eye! thanks so much! we were freaking out!

  • Thaaaaaank You! did it on my Bully, yesterday, worked first time! panic over! =o)

  • it didnt work on my rott

  • dont resort to surgery unless necessary. absence of the gland could cause dry eye and other eye issues in your bulldog for the rest of his/her life. this method works fine and my bulldogs gland popped out today and i put it back in myself. last time it came out was about 15 months ago.

  • I actually did this with zero prior knowledge it's very simple and easy to do.

  • OMG!!! I can't believe that worked! I just did it on our English Bulldog, Lola and it worked on the first try! I can't thank you enough--I am amazed!

  • thanks! that helped alot

  • Miss. Princess Belle! :)

  • i hate to break it to you all but you cannot simply massage it back in place and cure cherry eye. cherry eye is when the third eyelid is not properly attatched inside of the eye along with inflamation. you may be able to temporarily put it back inside however you cannot completely cure this without surgery. for one, this does nothing to reduce swelling, and does not help it to stay in place. if your dog has cherry eye get them toa veterinary ophomologist as soon as possible.

  • I woke up this morning with one of my English bulldog pups with a bit of cherry eye and my stress level went through the roof shes only 13 weeks old.. I found you and you saved the day!!!! thank you so much for this tip I was just about to call the vet for an apt for her but was able to fix her eye after seeing this video! IM SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR TIP AND WILL SHARE WITH OTHER ENGLISH BULLDOG OWNERS!

  • OMG if found my bulldog has cherry, this helped so much thank you

  • Thanks so much!!! Took a few tries but I got it. Way easier than the vet!!

  • Thank you

    this helped alot

  • whats the point doing that only comes back

  • What in THE world! ok, so our Boston Terrier has had this for about 6 months. We first freaked out and then found out it would cost 600 to fix. I stumbled on this video today and after about 10 tries (we took a break after the first 5)...I thought it may be too late because it has been so long since it first happened. BUT!! IT WORKED!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

  • Thanks for the video! My cat gets this every so often.

  • i tried it on my rott n it didnt work kuld sum1 plzzz tell me wat im duin wrong??????? Message me bck asap

  • Worked really well.

  • Thank you so much brother... ive had my puppy for 5 days and felt terrible... fixed it in 10 seconds...

  • Thank you!! this works for beagles too (:

  • dude, so glad you posted this! i just adopted an olde english 3 weeks ago and I was freeked out about this...did your technique and all good!

  • Thanks man, you're a lifesaver. My 1 yr old bully has a cherry eye, and i didn't know how to fix it... Thanks alot!!!!

  • thank you so much the vets hav bin tryin t get me 2 pay £200 t get this fixed on my staffy i hav found this video n has worked first time on her thanx you so much xxx

  • @SuperSamantha90 No problem glad I could help!

  • I just did this on my Bulldog Totally worked first try THANK YOU

  • Fine to massage it into place. If in UK use Viscotears eye drops from chemists. If it keeps coming out/won't go back in then you might need to have it stitched into place (not cut out as can cause dry eye and not best option). Good luck!

  • thank you u lot......i cured my bulldog cherry eye.....i tried 5 times .....i made it in the 5th time.....thank you....i was restless when i bulldog got that.......once again thank you alot......

  • @pakhajitokkadi its not a cure its just a way to get it to go back into socket..once its lose it will continue to happen through out their life....

  • not trying to worry anybody, but,

i don't know very much about cherry eye and the negative effects it could have on my dog.

if i were to use this, would it be, like, just an "out of sight, out of mind" thing and would the negative effects of the cherry eye still harm my dog?

  • @4flaggedvideos Sorry been neglecting my posts lately been real busy....it doesn't hurt them at all and yes its an out of site out of mind thing but it doesnt hurt your dog to have it and your dog won't suffer any side effects from it........its like a double jointed person it pops out and pops back in no pain....the surgery they offer is just for convinence so you dont have to deal with it..your dogs fine

  • thanks for the great video. I cant afford surgery so this will help.

  • I think I love you I tried it on my 5 month old OEBD and presto it worked I feel I should send you the price the vet was going to charge me. Love your bell

  • @mrprestate I appreciate the love but Im not big on Man love...lol..glad I could help...

  • Thanks so much for your help! My puppy has had a reoccuring cherry eye that pops out once in a while. We tried the eyedrops and massage but that didn't work. So we tried your method and it worked with one try! Thanks again!

  • Thank you for posting this! One of the truly useful videos on Youtube!

  • No problem Ed! Glad I could help

  • Thank you for this video--My bullie, Buck had this happen a couple of times & it went away on its own, but it came back yesterday & was still there this morning--I thought for sure, it was surgery time--Well I just tried your advice & just like that, gone! If that's all it takes, forget the surgery--Thanks!

  • thanks for the video... we had to board our bulldog this weekend and when we picked him up today, he had cherry eyed. I freaked cause i've never seen it before. took me like 3-4 tries before it went down. thanks so much

  • I can not thank you enough, my beagle puppy has the same problem, vet wanted to do a surgery, I was scared but tried to follow the video and I did it!!! It's already the second time and works! Thank you, thank you , thank you....

  • Thanks for the vid, our 2yr old bulldog had this for the first time today and after watching your video I gently pushed it back. I hope that it stays that way for a while but I get the feeling once this starts it continues..

  • Your right once it starts it usually doesn't stop...but it doesnt hurt them unless it wont go back in ...as long as it goes in then no problems....

  • Thanks, our bulldog pup around 6 months old developed this problem and your video helped alot. Got it back in place and it seems to be OK

    Thank You!!

  • I have a 5 month old french bulldog who just went a bit crazy during playtime and got a cherry eye.. Thanka alot man.. You saved me a trip to the vets.. took me three times but on the third it just popped back into place!! rock on

  • Hi

I have a shichon puppy and he has cherry eye. He has had it for the last 2 days and I just figured out he has cherry eye. I dont want to get him surgery but the massaging isnt working. Does it only work in a bulldog? Can you write me a resonse with how to massage it? Please help!

    Thanks

  • Thanks for all the comments... Its not a serious condition and can be treated in this way...As long as its not hurting the dog and your not forcing it back in its not a problem...I dont see the point in Surgery If you can just take 2 seconds..(Literaly) out of your day to pop it back in...

  • @jaysontampa

    Hi

I have a shichon with cherry eye and I tried massaging it just like you did in the video but it isnt working. Im sure its cherry wyw. Please Help!

  • ty you it worked temporaly but no problem best way i believe.thank you again for posting this video

  • Can I please ask the Bulldog's owner... Do you have to do this very often or has your dog's cherry disappeared for good or do you have to massage it away quite often?

  • It happens quite a bit...not all the time....Usually when she over exerts herself..Nut this reall poses no health risk to the dog and it doesnt hurt her so If you can massage it back in then do that....Sorry for the late response..Lifes been a bit hectic lately...

  • My dog also has Cherry Eye and has got Maxitrol drops from the vet and he said if they don't make the cherry bit pop back in they my dog will need surgery, which worries me.

If as I have seen elsewhere that the red bit can be massaged back into place, why doesn't the vet do this?

  • DUDE !!! YOU ARE THE MAN !!!

  • LOL..Thanks NoFrillsTattoo..

  • OMG dude that is cool me and my parents tried it and it worked you are awesome! :D

  • OMG thank you.. my bulldog is 3 months old, just noticed today that he looked to have cherry eye!! Took a couple of tries, even gave up at one point. But used a lukewarm wet paper towel, and massaged his eye, and POP it went back in. Went in a counterclockwise way to massage, with fair bit of pressure.. worked like a charm! Luckily, he it was time for his nap, so he didn't fight it!! Thanks again!!!!

  • I notice my puppy had cherry eye this morning. All the google searches I did said he needed surgery. Lucky I checked youtube. Thank you so much for making this video!

  • thank you so much for posting this!! You helped me out so much!

  • Today my dog had the same, i was scared it could be something else but I googled it and found it was Cherry eyes, I looked for a youtube vid about how to fix it. and I found yours, Thank you very much.

5/5 plus subscription :) My puppy says thnx!

  • This is great. My puppy just had this problem. We googled and every option turned out to be sugery. I watcht this video and tried it on my dog. And the Cherry eye is gone instantly...Thank you so much....

  • Our 2 year old bully just looked at us cross-eyed and we freaked out! We figured out it was a cherry eye, watched your video, and fixed her eye all by ourselves! Thanks so much!

  • You have no idea how much you helped me, thank you!!!!!! My Boston Terrier had a cherry eye but I was never home when it happened and my fiancee took care of it. Well, today it happened when I was here and I couldn't get in touch with anyone to help. After I watched your video, it took me a few tries but it worked!!! Thanks again, what a great video I appreciate your help!

  • Thanks!! Shelly sorry behind on my Youtube stuff....

  • gonna try this. my 4 month old bully has had this for 2 months

  • Great video pal, gona try that on my bully seamus later! Cheers!!

  • That is awesome! Definitely having the same troubles with our bulldog, Knox. Thanks for the info, but we have yet to get it to work.

  • Thanks for all f the good comments and thank you's!! Yeah the surgery can be very expensive! Glad I could help everyone out!

  • I massaged a very small one back in place for my boston terrier/pitbull puppy but he has cherry eye in his other eye that is very big which has been there for 3 months. does it work for that?

  • WOW!! Thanks sooooo much. I did exactly what you said and voila! It worked GREAT!!

I went to various websites looking for other alternatives than surgery and guess what? Nothing. Then I found this video and it made my whole week! Thank you so much for posting this.

  • thank you so much for posting this video. my 4-month old chow chow has one on his left eye. he is now 5 months old and it doesn't seem to bother him at all. he is scheduled for a surgery, good thing i saw your video...i'll postpose his operation and try this first..thanks :-)

  • hey i wonder if it works on my maltipoo . it has a cherry eye for about 1 week.thanx

  • Hahah! We were just considering dog insurance, surgery etc! Thankfully I remembered hearing about popping it back in lol! Great video! Thanks! And Bella is quite bella...beautiful!

  • We just noticed that our 6 mo bulldog had this. Thanks for making the fix so easy!

  • i have got a 9 weeks old british bulldog pup which has a cherry eye.can you do this with pups so young because there skin (eye lids etc ) look alot more compact.thanks

  • I was about to take our peekingese pup (9weeks old) to the vet cause I hadn't found something in 24 hours, then I find this, tried it, he didn't even react! Saved us a ton of money and he's a happy camper (tip, I think a guy with big fingers can do it easier)

  • has anyone not been able to get this to work my 13 week old has it in his left eye and doesn't seem to want to "pop" back in. he is going to the vet on Monday morning

  • i cannot thank you enough for this video. Our Beagle woke up with it one day and it was gonna cost us 250 to have his eyes fixed. We saw your video a couple of months ago, put it back ourselves and have never had a problem with it again!! Thanks.

  • One more thing... it's amazing how there's only one video on this technique. I, for one, am utterly grateful that you posted it. Most vets urge to only operate and sometimes it's completely unnecesary! I had another vet appt for the day after I found your video for my vet to show me how to do this. I had already brought my dog in to diagnose the problem and he didn't show me then- only when I inquired. However, for that additional visit it would of costed around 75$... I'm sure......

  • My vet said there was no rush and that the cherry eye may resolve itself with this antibiotic/ steroid ointment. Another local vet said that the massage could potentially help AND was the one to suggest this video on youtube! I signed up to youtube when i first watched the video because i wanted to comment on it! There is no urgency in treating cherry eye unless it becomes more urgent due to infection, etc. My dog's is not infected and therefore the massage is working great! Thank you again!

  • My dog has it in the corner of her eye. I had tried the thing that you had done. She just ran and bite me. Please help.. the surgrey is way to spendy for out buget..I need big help!

  • To correct the cherry eye you should go to the vet to do the surgical pocket technique"...i don't think that what are you doing there it's enough(if it was that easy don't you think that a doctor could have think of that?) and you sould never let you vet remove the gland.(sorry for my english)good luck!

  • The vets reccomend the surgery because its more of a nuisance to the owner and the dog to keep popping it in and thats how they make money...this method works fine for about 90% of dogs and it doesn't hurt the dog...Having a pet means taking care of it and if you don't mind taking 5 seconds out of your day to do this then by all means throw your money away and get the surgery...

  • Thank you so much! My lab had this condition until about an hour ago when I watched your video! I tried it and the cherry eye in tucked back in! He looks great and now we don't have to fret about surgery! My vet hadn't recommended or sugested this technique when he diagnosed the problem. After searching online I found many websites about the massage but they didn't actually show how to do it. Thank you SO MUCH!! Corduroy and I appreaciate it!

  • Thank you so much. A Google search for "cherry eye" nets a bunch of websites that say you should take your dog to the vet to have it surgically removed or stitched back into place, WHEN THERE IS CLEARLY AN EASIER SOLUTION!

  • thank you, it helped.

my george (6 months) had surgery 3 weeks ago on his right eye, today apeared on his left eye. i put it back.

hopefully it will stay there for a while. I do not whant to put him thorough second surgery so soon.

  • Man, he is awesome!

But i Have have a Question to you: i really like Dogs and i realy want a english bulldog, but they cost 1800€ (~2200$) here in Germany, and i get the money together in maybe 2 years :( But i saw in the internet, there are many distressed Dogs and i think about that i accommodate a distressed Dog, WHAT DO YOU THINK? good idea or not?

I think a distressed dog would be really like the new home (at me).

I would take him for walkies every day, many hours :)

    Thanks!

  • Thank you so much! This worked on my 4 month old bulldog who got cherry eye last night! However, i woke up this morning and it was back :( I tried this again and again it worked. How long does it normally last for and at what point do I need to consider surgery versus just doing your method? Thanks again so much for the video!!!!!! I would have never known.

  • Glad it helped... My dogs pos out all the time...mostly with heavy exercise or playing with my other dog...The vet said as long as it goes back in okay its not a big deal....I wouldnt get the surgery unless it wont go back in easy or you get tired of putting it back in place..I dont mind since I would rather do that then put her through surgery..

  • Hi the only way to stop it permanently is surgery otherwise it will continue to pop out all the time. Just had my 5 month old bulldogs corrected by surgery hes fine now still a few days left off wearing the collar tho which suprisingly he doesnt seem to have minded that much! cost £250. Drops wont do anything best just to get it done.

  • my puppy has a cherry eye right now. I feel so bad for the little guy. I keep praying that the drops will work. its his 3rd one and the drops have worked before but now he might need surgery, and I feel so bad for him. :-(

  • aw, I got my hopes up, but I have a boston terrier, so maybe that is why it didn't work. :-(

  • thankyou thankyou thankyou so much thx thx thx

  • THANK YOU!!! YOU'RE AWESOME!!!!

  • Thank you thank you thank you for posting this.

  • omg thank you so much! my baby girl woke up with one today and i was all freaked and thought she needed surgury! thanks so much for making this video i am going to share this with others!!!!!

  • We have a 4 month old bully and it she just woke up with a huge red cherry!! thanks to this video she no longer has it!!! Thank you so much for spending the time to post this!

  • hey man.. thanx for your vid. Is was going to go to the vet but you made it look so easy i sat my comp. down and did it in like a min..

  • worked! normally i can fix it but this time it was really hard to! thanks for posting this! your dog is adorable!

  • OMG thanks for posting this,my dog has it and we didn't know how to push it back in,and we really didn't want to take her to the vet.

  • not to be corny or anything but just a thanks for posting this.... not that it is always a good thing to turn to the internet for a vet problem but my boston terrier mix just ended up with cherry eye day before yesterday and i was freaking out because my poor puppy looked so pitiful. It took a couple massages the way you showed and she is all better. I know that it may happen again but at least now I know what to do. I'm also glad that it wasnt something that caused her pain! Thanks again....

  • My bullie got cherry eye last week and the vet showed me how to put it back in, but she says this is only a tempoary solution. Surgery is the only way it will actually stay put... right?

  • scratch that comment the cherry eye came back i put it back into place about 5 times it comes back within minutes every time

  • WOW.. forget what i said before, it really did work!! I did it when my dog was resting then it didnt go away..but i think thats why it was getting more flat cuz it was going back down LOL.. i just had to wait a while and now its really gone im so happy she is back to normal =) IM REALLY REALLY THANKFUL FOR THIS!! =]

  • um does it work for other dogs? or just bull dog?.. cuz i tried it on my maltese/jackrussel but it doesnt work..her cherry eye is more red now.. this morning it was like ur dogs' but now its red and more flat but still poofy and quite red.. i dont know maybe im too late or i did it wrong.. i just pushed up and then down like massage, and its still there )'= ..

  • wow.. are u serious? thats all it takes?!?! omg i have to try that thx for this! my dog has cherry eye

  • wow... right after i left that comment i tried it again and i did it...I LOVE YOU a week full of stress just went away...i thank you soooo much and this is the greatest most helpful video ever thanks again

  • my bulldog has cherry eye and i tried this a couple times and i cant do it...i dont know how u do it so easy this sucks

  • Thank you for the great video! My little bulldog puppy had cherry-eye for the first time 2 days ago & I freaked & took him to the vet. It cost me $80 for the vet to put it back in place & for drops. It popped out again this morning & thanks to your video I was able to get it back in myself.

Your dog is a sweet angel!

    Thanks again.

  • thanks for the helpfull video man, much appreciated~!

  • Thanks so much for posing this, you have no idea how much this means too me. When I saw the dreaded cherry eye in my bully I freaked out.

  • Thank you for making this video. I haven't had to do this but it's great to keep in my favorites just in case!

  • Thanks for posting this! Never seen it done and this could help a lot of people with their bullys. She's such a good girl too!
