  • If he is aimng to target the chest he is failing. Simply put the chest is isolated by the way he is holding the dumbbells however its also in the weakest position like that with his shoulders externally rotated. It may "save his shoulders" but at the cost of limiting chest development and not to mention people forget the reason we do compound movements is to recruit as many motor units and muscles as possible. Why make it less effective?

  • @3tyson No I don`t get the point. A press trains is a compound lift that trains several muscle groups at once unlike isolation exercises like a pec-dek or tricep extensions. In that respect it is also a much superior exercise.
