  • M3 across America? That's a dream of mine!!

  • wicked now i dont have to go to ameica ive seen it all

  • Oh - and what's with the Vulcan gesture around the four-minute mark? Trekkies or something?

  • Jeez - how fast are you going to get from San Francisco to Washington DC in ... a little over 4 minutes?!!

  • Comment removed

  • @rovertales we did! we are super hungover around the 3:49 mark.

  • Would like it a lot better if we weren't seeing mostly the interior of the car.

  • Ever since I was a kid, I'd drive from Kansas to Utah with my family. Those long car rides were some of the most relaxing, peaceful and sleepy times of my life.

I don't get rides like that anymore. Your video made me homesick for it.

  • haha loved the midwest section, so barren

also 2:57 was very cool (just half a second of rain haha)

  • that was really damn cool

  • i envy u

  • Great stuff! Wonderful to listen to (Nyman is sooo good) and watch, but I think my eyeballs have dried out. O.O

  • What a great little film, very smart!

  • If you don't mind me asking why did you go to Macomb Street? I like a block or two away... kinda interesting coincidence.

  • You are 55 times faster than sound;)and your average speed is... 42000mph

  • I just got back from a trip to redbluff CA and Im head over to washington DC in a couple of weeks to take my dad for a family thing lol I havent been traveling since I was 19 and Im 42 now WOW what a time to start...

  • To all Michael Nyman fans: You MUST watch the video of "Let There Be Light "... it's a song by MICHAEL NYMAN with rock noir band BELLADONNA and it's based on his music from "The Piano". Nyman himself plays piano on it... search for "nyman belladonna" here on youtube and you'll find it!! :-)

  • I hope to do this someday soon, it seems very enthralling... of course I won't be taking my big ass truck because thats damn well a full tank of gas to get across my freaking neighborhood... :(

  • how long did it take...I'm doin' D.C to Sacramento tomorrow!

  • ........when gas was cheaper... :'[

  • Love it, great job! I'm doing one of these soon!

  • at 3:39 is that washington dc???

  • @Zowie7272 Thats Nashville Tennessee

  • I've driven that before w/ my friends w/o the camra

  • All that and you have to have that stupid rear view mirror to block the view...

  • Would have probably looked much better with more exposures, try it with 5 seconds between each pic.

  • Its not a timelapse, Just a really fast car!

  • how many photos were taken in total?

  • What kind of camera and what timing device did you use, this is fantastic and inspirational

  • are you driving a bmw m3 e46?

  • @ToInfinity1 Not sure the e46 part, but definitely an M3. It was my friend's car. Good eye.

  • @physiciandirectory definitely an E46

  • @physiciandirectory Yep its an E46. 2001-2006 with SMG? I have a 2003. Nice vid!

  • id love to do that once

  • awesome...

  • Thanks for sharing! A little bit fast though. How many nights have passed? I think I lost track. Three?

  • @tena7411

    Thanks!

  • good video just slow down the speed of the pictures cycling and it would be better

  • @kennyb010 Same here, I just wish my eyes had a little bit longer to absorb the picture, even if it had made the video longer.

  • the music is driving me crazy

  • This video takes frickin long to load :D

  • Great! Moving from the congested, car-loving, it-takes-3-hours-to-go-20-miles-via-public-transportation, fantasyland Los Angeles to Washington DC this summer to attend a grad school. I'm hoping I could make a movie during the trip. Thanks!

  • @joeyyoo85

Uhh. The DC Metro Area has the 2nd worst traffic in the USA. LA is number 1 though. Its still horrible in the DC area. You will see

  • There is no better place than America to take a road trip.

  • nice, thats an M3 right, nice car

  • Nice work. You must have happy memories when you rewatch it.

  • the only memory i have of watching this video is that of dizziness and not being satisfied watching this video

  • Wow...and it only took 4:35 mins.!

  • yeah , and im so sure your fuckin country of bosnia is soo much better?...i think not!

  • why would you put an M3 through such a long drive. Have some feelings man.

  • @raccordv4 In August, Im taking my e90 M3 on a 6000 mile trip. Ohio to Yellowstone, Glacier Natl Park in Montana, Boise, Salt Lake City, Death Valley, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Arches National Park, Vail, Denver, and back to Ohio. Why WOULDNT you put an M3 through a drive like that? Im so excited. A dream trip in my dream car.

  • how to do that with an ordinary camara, not having to press the triggerbuttom allthe time??? ^^

  • Any speeding tickets or car accidents?

Hoping to do this over the summer. Should be a great time.

  • Very cool! Nice video!

  • keep this is the archives soon only the rich get to drive that far

  • Must have taken ages... Isn't the speed limit in America ludicrously slow?

  • i saw super man LOL

  • very cool shout out to st louis

  • Great timelapse video, 5*

  • Great music!

  • sick music

  • Oh hell yeah, I just noticed this is an e46 M3. Nice. Im picking up an e90 M3 in a week or so.

  • i watched it till the end :D

crazy shit guys^^ but its totaly awesome :p

  • They drive with a BMW car!!!Good choice!!!

German cars are the best cars in the world (Japanese cars, too) and comfortable for long journeys!!!

GM sucks balls!!! They are nothing without OPEL (Company from Germany with high technology knowhow)!!!

  • 2:18! Fake, es gibt keine Hände

  • A nice remake of James Benning and Bette Gordon's 1975 film, The United States of America.

  • Turn the camera off for a little reefer action through Sacramento?

    No sign of it....

Fairfield to the mountains in 1 frame.

    What gives?

  • Around 1:10 = Utah?

    Sure looks like it.

  • shows how boring the middle of our country looks

  • Wow, amazing. Did you pick any hitchers up on the way? And did they murder you and your partner in a gory and imaginative manner. Like on that film with Rutger Whatshisface?

  • i absolutles LOVE how you can see how the landscap changes from the 2 places, lol. nice job.

  • nice :)

  • cool!, it takes you 2 days to get to washington D.C

  • pretty cool idea love the water drops at morning

  • BMW really is a very good and reliable car brand isn't it?

    I love my 320D! :-)

  • this song is in man on wire

  • Awesome Video!

    Nice M3!

You took I-80 and you passed me in the 707!

    =D

  • that was an awesome idea! it was actually pretty cool to see how similar the US is

  • that was baddd

  • Unimaginably boring to make that far of a drive.

  • Nice..... I really want to do the drive from here (NY) to L.A..... but want to drive there and flight back.... LOL

BTW- is that an M3?? it looks just like my car... Well done

  • Love it!!

  • well done!

  • So cool. I've done parts of that drive--Reno to Denver, and Denver to Knoxville.

  • no. annoying. too fast.

  • Too bad significant chunks were missed or left out. i.e. you went from Fairfield to Colfax and missed about 80 miles.

  • Awesome high five at 2:34

  • Great Job!!... I have an OLD video of a trip from NYC to S.F. done in 1970.. shot on 16mm film with the camera rigged to fire one fram every so many fraction of a mile.

"Apparent" speed was something like 14,000 mph??

Too kewl you guys did it with today's technology!!

  • Great project; excellent execution. Classic.

  • Great idea & great video too.

How many photos did you take in total? :)

  • awesome!

  • It's absolutely fantastic how those mountains go from being a blue haze in the background to distinct features as you drive by them.

  • Reminds me of vanishing point.....

    btw: what car is this?

  • E46 BMW M3

  • bmw

  • how long did it take?? cant be bothered to figure out the math...

  • It's very dangerous to drive that fast and you should be ashamed of yourselves for recklessly endangering not only your own lives but those of every driver you so ungraciously shared the roads with.

  • Awesome job guys, great vid!

  • Ahahah Aren't police radar detectors illegal?

  • not in every state

  • FAIL COMMENT

  • it almost looks like youre going backwards!

  • I've always thought of trying this. If anyone is taking long road trip like this from the D.C metro area, please let me know, we can share the cost ;-)

  • my newest favorite.

  • Ughh This brings back bad memories!

  • Why?

  • I did the same thing, But in a fullsize budget truck towing a car. From NC to WA.

  • they should have done a Krock Walk! cross country

  • what camera did you use how did it worked?

  • What kind of BMW are they driving? Is that a police detector he has on his windshield.

  • Guys. Thanks for that! It was a great film to watch!

  • Kansas City starts just after 2:50 - home sweet home.

  • they got bored at 2:33

  • wow u were like going 1000 mph im surprised u havent been pulled over on the long trip jk lol

  • i haven't been this motion sick since the quake of '94

  • Awesome video. I like the music too.

  • this made me dizzy. how come your friend didn't help you drive. what a lazy bum

  • how fast can you go on those long flat desert rodes? like whats the speed limit

  • I took San Diego to Arizona one day on hwy 5 (I believe) and it was HOT! I was going 100-110 in sperts when the heat was getting to me. I was on a motorcycle with 3 hard bags and that was the fastest I could go without getting the deadly fork shake. Once you get out of the town areas you rarely see speed limit signs, but I'm sure a cop could pull you over for going 80.

  • 65 or 70.

  • It dosen't matter =P, you can see for miles if a cop is coming.

  • i need to take a shit now thanks but that was cool

  • WoW!

  • that's a neat camera

  • Beautiful! I assume you cut out some of the night footage?

  • I assume he didnt drive at night?

    But who is right?

  • Wow.

That must of been a real P.I.T.A to make!!

  • small country.

  • * burp * : - /~ ithink I'm gonna... quick, someone pass the car sick bag.

Nice work guys. I've made the drive from San Francisco to Ft. Lauderdale in 3 days and have a fine appreciation for driving day and night.

    Peace

  • it's not as amazing as i thought it would. it just looks like u guys were driving all day long.

  • If I'm to travel from Washington DC to California, what is there worth traveling for?

  • adventure.

  • looks fake

and why would u drive for so long anyway-just use a plane, thats what a plane is for-saves time and energy-and its less risky

  • Hahaha, I really hope you are kidding..

  • i am not kidding

why do u think smart people use planes?

  • thats amazing

  • Why the detour to kentucky? Good thing you had a radar detector! That would be a hello of a speeding ticket traveling 12,000 mph!

  • It hurtz my eyz! lol

  • soundtrack from the movie 'Zoo'?

  • 3:22 Metropolis IL. I go there all the time.

  • great vid

  • Who Is The Biggest Queef...I AM!!

    I ACCEPT FRIEND INVITES!

  • Fantastic idea but the music really grates

  • how u make this video with a videocamera? Vegas platinum will only make u shrink the video only a little bit

  • TheParkerGuy : Yeah...me neither. I saw Eisenhower Tunnel for a millisecond at 2:10, but no Denver in the seconds after that...though it looks like they stopped for a bite to eat there.

  • This is going to get over a million views. But when I saw it - it only had 65,692 views!
