Bisping was my pick for his season on TUF and I was happy when he won. Then it seems like he got REALLY arrogant and full of himself. After he got *knocked slam out* by Hendo, he seemed to get a bit more humble. I love that he's being so honest and magnanimous here. I can tolerate him again.

Bisping gives the last round to Sonnen, but, really, what did Sonnen do? He took Bisping down, and just held him there. Very little in the way of submission attempts, and very little in they way of striking. He will have to be WAAAAAY better to even have a small chance of beating Silva. The spider may not show him any mercy, if they fight again. I hope not!

I have never thought about fights being fixed in the UFC but after the judges rendered their decision i thought it was fixed for half a second mostly because of how much money the UFC would make if Sonnen fights Silva. I was going for Sonnen but Bisping clearly won this fight so i don't know what to believe now

Retarded I am, and thats my right. I've been following MMA for a long time and decisions go either way. There seems to be a grey area in the final decision making process cuz most of the Judges are from a boxing background. I felt the fight was close and a draw would of suited both parties. However, Chael dominated front & center (octagon control) and I felt that would be the key decider. Nobody wins fighting off their back. :)
chael won this fight. the striking was about even. and chael took him down numerous times. bisping had one takedown. chael and bisping were fairly even striking but chael was better thn bisping when it came to takedowns.

I honestly believe Chael won legitimately, albeit by a very close margin. the 2nd round was Bisping's where the 3rd round was Chael's. I suspect that on account of the sheer dominance of chael's performance in the 3rd round convinced the judge's to award him the 1st which was a toss up for either fighter, but watching it a second time is what convinced me that he has a legitimate claim to the first round.

Round 1= draw, round 2 = 10-9 bisping, round 3= 10-8 sonnen, you have to give sonnen a 10-8 in round 3 simply because he held bisping down the entire time except the last couple of seconds, bisping had a slight edge in the stand up and even hurt chael in the 1st round but couldn't capitalize on it throughout the fight, sonnen held bisping down but couldn't do much damage but bisping didn't do to much off his back either in the 3rd, sonnen won because he got takedowns and was in dominant position
I think people need to watch the fight again. I thought Bisping won 29-28... but after watching the fight again, twice - the 1st round was too close to call. The 1st round just depends on whether the viewer prefers Sonnen's aggression & relentless pursuit of the takedown or if they prefer Bisping's shockingly good takedown defence, his superior clinch control, & him winning the striking exchanges in the center. That 1st round was so close that it just depends on what the viewer thinks...
How can anyone make an agrument that the first round was Bisping's? Chael took him down twice. Bisping may have edged him in the stand up but didn't land any devastating blows that would win him that round. And holding Chael against the cage doesn't mean shit when you were taken down twice. Rewatch the first round without the commentary from joe Rogan. Usually i love Rogans thoughts/analysis but chael really did win that first round. He imposed his will and pushed the pace for the 3 minutes. The last 2 minutes bisping dominated. Bisping won the second and chael won the third. Its not as controversial if you analyze that first round with out joes comments.
Bisping won, and Chael knows it...If the fight was close, GUARANTEED the "higher powers" at UFC told the judges to favor Sonnen in order for the blockbuster rematch with Anderson to take place.

All judges AND referees are hired and put in fights by the state athletic comissions - in this case illinois. To say that the UFC told them to do this is absurd. The fight could've gone either way. Any thought that the UFC was fixed should have went away when Velasquez beat Lesnar for the title being that Lesnar was and still could be the most marketable man in mma. As for the fight I think Sonnen won the fight 29-28 based on the first and third rounds.
IMO, Bisping won the 1st round very close, but he took the round. The 2nd would be a never ending debate, but Chael's TD's, despite not having full control made the difference nonetheless. The 3rd round was all Chael. It could've honestly been 29-28 in favor of either fighter, and it wouldn't have bothered me to see it go either way. But in these kind of fights, someone needs to lose.

Fixed fight. There was no question Bisping won round 1 and 2. It amazes me that the judges can mess up the one and only job given to them. I would imagine they were given direction to give the win to Sonnen for Silva/Sonnen 2. Bisping's a good fighter but doesn't really make for an interesting fight against Anderson. Sonnen sure is boring.

I am a sonnen fan who can't stand bisping but even I can see bisping won the fight. Still, sonnen vs silva is far bigger for the UFC PPV, so maybe the UFC rigged it.
bisping clearly won the 1st and 2nd and therefore the fight anderson dodged a bullet and will fight the lesser of the two and a guy hes already faced and beat what injust yet it instills the higher grossing ppv so the ufc clearly wins on all fronts
i am not a fan of the points system....you a round could be dead even but one guy wins 10-9, or a round could be clearly dominated by one fighter and recieve the same points....I like the half points system, i would have given bispinf 10-9.5 for the first 2 and chael an easy 10-9 to make it a draw....in which case it goes another round....thats the way it should be

It went as expected. A even fight but I would say Sonnen won round one (the closest round) Bisping won round two, and the third round was a bit of a toss up too but I would give that to Sonnen. Sometimes you have fights that are just too close and so you may as well flip a coin. If they had of picked Bisping I think it would be equally controversial. I thought Sonnen was the aggressor and came forward more and for two rounds was able to control the fight. Great takedowns. Gassed in rd 3.

One judge gives 30-27 to Sonnen? I give the first and second to Michael because of striking, takedown defense, cage control, and some takdowns of his own. Judges are full of shit and were going to give Chael the fight no matter what if it went to decision. Only Chael fan boys can try to defend that decision because Chael looked sloppy and was only saved by those takedowns. If he puts on a show like that in front of Anderson it will be a short night for him.

First the 30-27 judge messed up majorly but even without his complete retard judging system Michael got the better of pretty much all the exchanges and was able to negate a lot of takedowns and even clinch Chael up against the cage. Based on that I say he won the first and second. There is no argument for the third Chael won that.

BTW 'takedown defense' does not earn points in its own, but can contribute to cage control.
@brandonhansentx I could see the draw going down. Bisping looked way better than he has in a while especially compared to the Mayhem fight where they both looked very lackluster. Also yes I know takedown defense doesn't earn points but I think it should. They judge on controlling the fight right well if you can control where the fight takes place that should get you some points in my eyes. But either way if Sonnen shows up like that vs a fresh Anderson he will get knocked out.

There seems to be a grey area in the final decision making process cuz most of the Judges are from a boxing background. I felt the fight was close and a draw would of suited both parties. However, Chael dominated front & center (octagon control) and I felt that would be the key decider. Nobody wins fighting off their back. :)

I honestly believe Chael won legitimately, albeit by a very close margin. the 2nd round was Bisping's where the 3rd round was Chael's. I suspect that on account of the sheer dominance of chael's performance in the 3rd round convinced the judge's to award him the 1st which was a toss up for either fighter, but watching it a second time is what convinced me that he has a legitimate claim to the first round.

Round 1= draw, round 2 = 10-9 bisping, round 3= 10-8 sonnen, you have to give sonnen a 10-8 in round 3 simply because he held bisping down the entire time except the last couple of seconds, bisping had a slight edge in the stand up and even hurt chael in the 1st round but couldn't capitalize on it throughout the fight, sonnen held bisping down but couldn't do much damage but bisping didn't do to much off his back either in the 3rd, sonnen won because he got takedowns and was in dominant position

I think people need to watch the fight again. I thought Bisping won 29-28... but after watching the fight again, twice - the 1st round was too close to call. The 1st round just depends on whether the viewer prefers Sonnen's aggression & relentless pursuit of the takedown or if they prefer Bisping's shockingly good takedown defence, his superior clinch control, & him winning the striking exchanges in the center. Bisping may have edged him in the stand up but didn't land any devastating blows that would win him that round. And holding Chael against the cage doesn't mean shit when you were taken down twice. It went as expected. A even fight but I would say Sonnen won round one (the closest round) Bisping won round two, and the third round was a bit of a toss up too but I would give that to Sonnen. One judge gives 30-27 to Sonnen? I give the first and second to Michael because of striking, takedown defense, cage control, and some takdowns of his own. Judges are full of shit and were going to give Chael the fight no matter what if it went to decision. Only Chael fan boys can try to defend that decision because Chael looked sloppy and was only saved by those takedowns. If he puts on a show like that in front of Anderson it will be a short night for him.

First the 30-27 judge messed up majorly but even without his complete retard judging system Michael got the better of pretty much all the exchanges and was able to negate a lot of takedowns and even clinch Chael up against the cage. Based on that I say he won the first and second. There is no argument for the third Chael won that.

@Aellis4 youre a dumbass. bisping didnt score a single takedown in the first 2 rounds. the striking was close, but chael actually forced bisping back with his standup. chaels takedowns scored points, and anytime bisping tried to push chael against the cage and clinch strike, chael was hitting him back the whole time

@Aellis4 As a Sonnen fan, I gotta agree that the 30-27 was ridiculous. I saw it coming down to a draw. Round 1 looked incredibly even, Bisping won 2nd and Sonnen 3rd. Sonnen did look terribly sloppy and the way he kept dropping his right had me worried the whole fight. Bisping looked really strong. BTW 'takedown defense' does not earn points in its own, but can contribute to cage control.

@brandonhansentx I could see the draw going down. Bisping looked way better than he has in a while especially compared to the Mayhem fight where they both looked very lackluster. Also yes I know takedown defense doesn't earn points but I think it should. They judge on controlling the fight right well if you can control where the fight takes place that should get you some points in my eyes. But either way if Sonnen shows up like that vs a fresh Anderson he will get knocked out.

@Aellis4 I agree, takedown defense and submission defense should both earn points. If a guy gets put in a lock and gets held there for 1min-2min and can hold out or evade, then that's got to count for something against burning 1-2mins off the clock.

@Aellis4 the whole 3rd round cheal layed on him. if you watch the fight again he hardly landed any strikes on top, hardly any at all. meanwhile bisping is landing punches to side of head and body whenever possible. so basically for judes its better to lay on top of someone doing nothing then land small strikes from bottom i don't understand that logic or why people thought he won because of takedowns. im a big fan of cheal he did look sloppy maybe weight cut had something to do with it

@marzwoody Yeah the whole take someone down and hold them there for points thing is lame I mean if he would of worked with it like Rashad did I would be all for it. It all depends on the judge but if I was there Sonnen would of only got 1 round out of me tbh. But yeah if his weight cut is causing him problems he better fix it he was letting Bisping get off on him a bit in the striking and Anderson will for sure knock him out if he strikes like that with him.

Surprise surprise the brit get's ripped off again. Wish ufc would cut the shit. It's too many dodgy decisions in non-controversial surroundings. If bisping had won the fight there would be nothing said about it cos it was the right decision.

@NUFCMMA101 There really should be a online course or something people like you could take to learn the sport better. The UFC has no control over judges, they are selected by the State Athletic Commissions. In this case Illinois. It's comments like this that seem to accompany other uninformed comments like refering to MMA (the sport) as UFC (a single company)...Not trying to sound like an ass, it's just getting old... As for the fight, I had 10-9 Bisping, 10-9 Bisping, and 10-8 Sonnen. Draw!
