Michael Jackson was never that funky. I've seen TTD back in about 1990 - amazing show in Santa Cruz - he's closer to James Brown than MJ.

MJ manhandles TTD in the area of visual spectacle and note for note clarity. Since its pop music, vocal ability isn't necessarily an obvious important element. TTD wins for musical production and vocal soulfulness. TTD has old school musical ability. When you remember his songs you mainly remember the musical content. With MJ most remember the dancing and video first. How memorable would the songs Thriller or Smooth criminal have been without the videos? TTD has you listening regardless
