Funny, there's a pronunciation error in there, which lends weight to the idea that Nouvelle Vague singers don't get to hear the original of the song they perform.

The singer sings the last two syllables of 'black maria' to rhyme it with 'Mia' or as in 'Tia Maria' ... but it actually rhymes with 'buyer' or 'hire'.
