I bought this Bose system last week, and at the same time I also bought the Altec Lansing Mix iMT810, and the AL Mix beat the Bose easily. The Altec Lansing has more Bass, better highs, and also has more features that are not found on this Bose Portable SoundDock, and is a lot less money than the Bose. If you want a Bose, you pay for the name, you also pay for the portability of this Bose System. But the sound quality is lacking on the Bose.

my uncle was talkin about his job at bose and I told him my klipsch pro 2.1 got fried in 3 days. They sounded great they just used cheap wiring and the amp overheated easy. He said klipsch sucks and I should buy the bose companion 5 and he'd give me 30% off any thing from bose so itd be like $280 (which was nice of him) but I was like what the fuck did he really just say bose is better than klipsch?

I've had this sounddock for 2 years. It's got so much base that music really does not sound that great through it. For much less money I would tell any friend looking to buy this to get a Sangean PR-D5. It does much more, vocals sound better, weighs less, you can take it into wet areas like the beach and will save you a lot of money.

Just bought it, love it built very well sounds great! Seems that Bose gets allot of hate, then again so does the i pod, i phone, and Mac .... the BEST tends to always attract some negative feelings, weird.

I have one of these and i love it ! IF you are one of these people who like wires, 4 or 5 speakers and sub then chances are you wont like this. but if you want simple sounds good and easy to use its might be worth the 400 bulcks they want for it. but for reallz bose 400 bulcks? come one it should have been like 250 or something. just my thought .

Hi Ande320, how are you doing ? I have the Go+Play, the IM7 and the Bose ! The IM7 plays much louder then the Go+Play when running on batteries, plus the Go+Play cuts it bass by half when running on batteries ! I say the IM7 plays louder then the Bose without distortion ! The Bose plays really loud but , when it gets near the volume the IM7 puts out , it distorts, after all to be fair, it's a much smaller system ! For the size Bose is the best, but the IM7 will out muscle the smaller Bose.

I got a Bose sounddock for Christmas and I am still very excited by it! I can play my ipod aloud at its reputable clear, clarifying sound. I can't hear any static. Plus, since mine is portable I can unplug the cord and travel with it to wherever I want. Try to count this sounddock as something you should ask for your birthday or Christmas and you will be amazed at the sound quality. It's just awesome!

FAIL: Higher power consumption does not necessarily translate into louder sound. Are all speakers the same size? Do they all have the same efficiency and impedance? Same amplifier circuitry feeding them? Same crossovers? NO!

I've heard them both and the Kicker has much better sound quality with a fuller range. AND it will sound much better at louder volumes then the Bose.

Not at all actually. Bose is overpriced crap. I had the choice between a Bose and Klipsch home theater sound system, both priced between $3000-$4000. Klipsch blew the Bose away. No comparison. You're probably just some idiot who looks at the Bose commercials and thinks they're cool. (Bose headphones suck too, Klipsch Image S4 are much better)

Bose is worth every penny.Klipsch has a very thin very forward midrange to them.Very fatiguing after a short while.Bose has a nice warm natural sound design theme across there whole audio products.Very nice to listen to for long periods at a time.Bose has very good build quality a fact that thousands of these soundocks bought years ago are still working like new.They have the best customer support in the industry.Harmon group is terrible.Bose is a pioneer in there right.

I have Bose in my Cadillac that sounds wonderful, a Bose home theater system that shakes the walls, Bose headphones that i've had for 2 years and still sound like the day I bought them, and a Bose sound dock and I tell you for two inch speakers it sounds great! Also I noticed it throws sounds, like surround sound but only two speakers.

bose generally dont leave much margin in their sound docks, but for obvious reasons. The quality of audio and the level of volume this thing puts out, at minimal distortion is impossible to come by at this price range.... and its portable. Roughly 3 hours at full volume, but thats far too loud for most people anyway. Anywhere from 6 to 9 hours at a moderate volume on full charge is what most people experience... without compromising the sound.
