Continued: Like I said, I think Mr. Prior is very talented, and he does an incredible job bringing an immense amount of excitement to the movement. This is heard in the orchestra's sound! However, so much music is lost because he has sacrificed clarity of ideas for what appears to an orchestra like confusing gestures. Even though they're not together, the orchestra is good enough to get through such a familiar piece without too much help. He's got talent though, and he's exciting!

Mr. Prior is clearly very musical, but he has a lot of work to do. It is impossible to understand what 95% of his gestures mean. His beat pattern extends far too long in all directions, which dilutes the dynamics. It disappears behind his head and is too irregular, which makes it impossible for the orchestra to see or predict. His head is in the score far too often. His cues and breathing are inconsistent, and the orchestra is not together with him or with themselves as a result. Continued above

This boy has some talent. But he needs to listen more to what he's conducting. It's not together! He needs better technique and the humility to realise that his facial expressions and grand gestures are not actually improving the performance. Also he needs to stop looking at the score so much - surely he knows the piece well enough?
