Abortion and Contaception....'ghastly inventions of the 20th Century'?! I'm really trying to listen to your points on AGW, Monckton...but you keep peppering your speech with moronic Roman Popery. Very disconcerting.
@jcantlie What exactly isn't ghastly about scraping a 3 month developed unborn child out of the womb, or cracking a hole in a 8-9 month fully developed unborn child's scull, vacuuming out it's brains, and pulling the carcass out of the womb and disposing of it?
@jwboll Legal abortion is preformed on fetuses before they have a developed nervous system. Denying a woman who has been raped by her father or a woman who has a severely disabled child growing in her womb their right to abortion is cruel - both to the woman and the child.
@jcantlie everything you have stated is justifiable. There are cases though, where the baby is "aborted" right before birth by cracking a hole in the skull as the head starts to crown, then quickly vacuuming the brains out. perfectly legal, it really does happen, to perfectly healthy barely unborn children.
@jwboll I would be absolutely mortified to find out that such a practice happens in the free world - that IS murder. Where could such a barbaric and backwards culture exist that would condone such a hanus act against children?!
@jcantlie it happens, in North America. There is a documentary that covered this subject called "Witness" broadcast on CBC in Canada. I haven't been able to find links to this on the internet though(it was produced before the internet became what it is now) They made all kinds of informative documentary videos. there was one about how people treat animals, you'd cry if you seen how they prepared cats (to eat) in Shanghai. This, and 9 month abortions, is something I'll never forget.
@jwboll I looked into it and found this: "Since 1988, when the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that existing abortion restrictions were unconstitutional, abortion has been legal for any reason at any stage of pregnancy."
I now have serious doubts about the rule of law in my country, and am perfectly horrified that our regulations regarding human life could be so lax. Thank you for bringing this to my attention - I shall investigate further and write to my MP.
@jcantlie Yes, the world isn't as pretty as everyone thinks. Did you also know that in many countries, Homosexuality is punishable by execution? Rape is considered a crime, for the woman, because she provoked it? There are a lot of problems out there that actually need to be adressed. I am in constant disbelief over how this climate change movement has gained momentum. Mr Monckton so eloquently puts to words what I think the silent majority believes. Good luck with your MP, hopefully..
something good will come of it. I have a unique job where I work on refrigeration equipment at almost all of the commercial and public buildings in my town of 10,000 people. I have seen some very disturbing things in the "biological waste" freezer at the hospital that would definitely stir up public outcry if everyone knew what was going on.
@jwboll Yeah - my wife is Iranian - I've spent some time over there and am fully aware of the barbarity imposed on those who are at odds with the holy books of the world...I very much agree with you on Climate Change foolishness and the need to re-examine our priorities as Nations and individuals!
@jcantlie killing a human being, or a living organism of sheer similarity to a human being could be considered cruel, crueller than ordering that women must bear a child if pregnant. At 8wks a fetus has formed eyes, fingers, toes, and cerebral cortex is developing. Many obstetricians and researchers believe it can feel pain. At 19wks, fetus if viable. For those reasons abortion is cruel
I wonder what lengths this agenda will go to in order to convince the masses of Global Warming - Chemtrails perhaps? Cloud seeding or weather manipulation? Who knows!?
i love that he brought up DDT. It is such a popular pinata for conservatives but that albatross needs to remain on environmentalists' heads so that people never forget what radical enviro-statism can do when it goes unchecked.
Gobshyte, I agree with what he says, I know he's intelligent, it's an expression of opinion, nothing to do with you. My comment is not cheap, it's an expression of opinion, the only thing cheap is your defensive comment.
Actually, on second thoughts, his dismissal of Dawkins etc. as people who 'avoid debate' on the existence of god and his likening that to Gore avoiding debate is completely incorrect, his research in the area of Atheism and religion is flawes. Given that he is such an intelligent man, it can only mean he has discounted the facts to suit his belief in god.
A Case Study in Scientific Fraud" by the late J. Gordon Edwards, Professor Emeritus of Entomology at San Jose State University in San Jose, California.
The article was published shortly after his death last July in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, Fall, 2004. It is based in part on his 34-page manuscript discussing fraud in acid rain, ozone holes, ultraviolet radiation, carbon dioxide, global warming, and pesticides, particularly DDT.
Sad. I agree with Monckton 100% regarding AGW, but his take on DDT is ludicrous. Individual countries decide their use of DDT, resistance was growing on its own, it is believed to cause neurological disorders in children breastfeeding from mothers exposed to it, and individuals often refused to have it sprayed on their residences.
Carson didn't call for a DDT ban, she rightly said it should be used sparingly so it didn't become ineffective.
The comments on this video reveal too much attention placed on the messengers and nothing paid to the issue at hand. In the end Susuki, Gore and Monkton are irrelevant to something that is a huge problem--climate change--whether it is real and destroying the world, or a manufactured hoax to suppress civilization.
I had heard about this Monckton, but never heard him per se. This is a scary man indeed.
How come this political advisor gets to speak on a matter such as this? Aren't we supposed to get an educated opinion from people who actually know something about the issue at hand? He makes it sound like the climatology scientists don't know the first thing about the relevant sciences. Quite obviously he is first and foremost a politician.
Check into what he is saying. Its all true. He is simply relaying information, not making his own conclusions or assumptions. Do you want to die or have your economy plumit to the point of mass starvation and homlessness,, because thats what will happen if Gore and all the other crooks get this passed. Its already happening in the U.S. so this taxation will simply break you if you live there. Man contributed global warming is not an issue to the earth or us,, at all. Science has been corrupted.
We'll see what happens. He may very well be right on all accounts, I wouldn't know and obviously the scientific community and journals doesn't know what he's talking about either. This Monckton fellow seems to be first and foremost a propagandist, disregarding science.
Al Gore fits that description you gave about Monkton very well also. It is because of Gore that the world is all hyped about global warming - he is the real leader in this whether it is about science or not. His movie contained 9 incorrect details, most importantly that co2 drives temperature,, that is the fundemental argument and has actually been proven to be the other way around. Dont worry though, that wont stop these people from revising their theory to accomodate it.
In the mean time I'll just have to listen to the 97,4% of climatology scientists who attribute the current warming to human activities. For me it seems like a sensible thing to do given my lack of competenses in relevant scientific fields.
The corrupted science simply is bogus it appears. Or do you feel inclined to draw educated conclusions regarding the current body of research?
I'm also listening to the 98% of the scientists who claim smoking causes cancer. How about you?
There is no 97.4% of scientists supporting this theory. Where did you hear that? It is not based on reality and there was no poll taken on which climatology scientists agree and dont. Thats really quite a silly number to throw up. Anyways though, it doesnt matter to me what choices you make. There your choices and I respect them regardless of what they are.
ptangboy, such is the reality whether you like it or not. A survey in 2009 showed that 97,4% of the climatology scientists support that human activity plays a significant role in the current situation. That speaks volumes on what the scientific community thinks of the issue. And there you have the consensus that denialists so often question.
Google "Doran Kendall Zimmerman" if you're interested in reading that survey. You also have Oreskes report from 2004 that shows a similar picture.
Well, since both deniers and AGW proponents know that CO2 is a GHG and that it therefore has the capacity to drive the weather, I'm wondering what kind of dreamworld you live in. That is not the question being discussed. The important properties of CO2 has been known for a very long time. Noone argues about that, except maybe for those who don't care much about science.
Yes but it was originally thought that co2 was a direct driver of temperature. Now it has been seen to only augment it. Thus temperature is not determined by co2.
The effects of co2 on temperature has not been known for a very long time, its effects have been revised time and time again. It does effect temperature but it does not determine it. That is the very reason that the term "Global Warming" is being phased out. You wont even hear that phrase soon enough.
And do these surveys follow an unbiased approach. Are you saying they go out and contacts climatologists that are known to challenge AGW or are they just steered clear of? There is litteraly a poll and a statistic to prove anything you want. Im betting there were other polls done that showed much different results, especially if they were anonymous.
It's a scientific article. Therefore it should of course adhere to strict scientific methodology and academic standards. Like I said, look at it and see what you make out of it. Perhaps you'll realize that reality is quite different from what you currently believe.
How could you ever think that the side that is not supported by government heads would get the same attention and publicity? How do you see this as an unbiased debate? Do you know how funding works in scientific study - how scientists recieve funding?
To say there is a consensus when any voice challenging it is silenced and cast aside is very unscientific of you.
I actually dont take what scientists say to be of much value, and certainly dont take thier findings as factual truth. They are often wrong and often revise their theories. That is understandable but when they claim they are certain of something and then later change their mind, well, that is totaly different and I suspec that is the case here. The scientific community was in the same position in the 1970's when the big scare was of an incoming ice age. Now they have flopped on that.
You may not hold science very high. But please do not jump out of a window simply because you don't have a good feeling about Newton or Einstein.
Regarding the 70's ice age scare. Science NEVER said anything about an impending ice age. That is simply an urban myth. Newspapers and magazines did exploit the story though. But that is not science, quite the opposite. Science actually warned about AGW even in the 70's, but obviously the scientific body and research was much smaller. How about that?
You think the media hype is any different now? This consensus you and others speak of simply does not exist. That is what some politicians, scientists and the media claim but that doesnt make it so.
The IPCC is the only agency that proposes human co2 to be causing a serious and imminent threat. The only real consensus is that it has gotten warmer, not that humans have caused that. Im not asking you about this or hoping its correct, I know it is.
Well there is a vast difference. In the 70's no scientists were talking about an impending ice age (at least not for another 20000 years).
Your view on science is very clear and you can close your eyes all you want. That still won't magically change physical nature. I assume those in power knows what to do when 97,4% of the climatologists say there are problems ahead.
FYI, in the real world, 97,4% is considered consensus. Especially when it comes to science. 100% of the dissidents may differ.
In the 70's there was scare spread round the world of a soon upcoming ice age. It was mostly the media commenting on it and pushing the theory,, just as is the case now. You were probably not old enough to remember if you were even alive at all.
So you cling to your poll even though there is real evidence of extorsion involved in the study. On top of that there is no funding directed towards scientists that challenge AGW, scientists like John Christy, formerly of IPCC.
He as well as many other lead scientists on the intergovernmental panel withdrew their support and asked their names be removed from the studies. The names however were not removed so the IPCC is also guilty of misrepresentation. You seriously dont see the fraud of this?
So he's an aggregator, or editor...at best. But not a climatology scientist, am I right? I'm sure he is convincing and a fresh alternative to the boring old scientists who never leave the lab. His opinions does not change any facts though.
Could very well be that there's a huge body of scientists who don't speak up. If that's the case, science in general will take a huge blow. If it's not the case we have an overwhelming consensus in support of AGW. Like it or not....
Its no secret that extorsion and racketeering played a role in this scientific study. I too would choose to wait and see what happens, but from what Ive seen and read on the topic it appears to wreak with corruption.
Sounds plausible, but I deeply resent the parallel being drawn to atheism, which is (as GW science should be) entirely based on skepticism. Dogma and indisputability are guns of the opposite (apparently his) campus.
kifameno - Atheism based on skepticism? Do you mean, perhaps, Agnosticism? Atheism is more certain that there is no supreme nonphysical deity, Agnosticism is more skeptical of our ability to be certain that such a being exists or does not exist, (or know what the nature/attributes of this hypothetical higher power might be).
kifameno - Some aspects of "Liberalism" can be strongly rooted in epistemological skepticism. Bill Clinton could never be said to have told a lie (intentional, knowing falsehood) since, for some "Liberals", our ability to know any common objective reality is severely limited. Ideas & perception are the points of departure for determining a subjective reality. Thus, empiricism is discarded, Aristotle is called the "naive realist". All that remains is "my reality" vs. "your reality".
Poverty is also the enemy for the environment. When people are poor, they care little about the environment. Common sense tells us this, and you can also observe the high level of pollution in third world countries.
The best way to save the environment is to create wealth. Wealthy countries such as the US and Canada are far less polluted than extremely poor countries such as Haiti or Zimbabwe.
Yet Canada and US produce gigantic amounts of garbage through over consumption of disposable products. We too have much to change. Being rich however, gives us opportunities to do so that poor countries would not have.
stupidity is the socially, acceptable, or unacceptable ignorance by an individual or individuals on the behalf of the situation.
what is smart?
there are many smart ass answers one could give but in my opinion, smart, is a form of wittyness. and ideological wittyness, will not help in the equation that is the future of humankind.
I'm grateful that Lord Monckton stepped up to the plate and batted for truth on man-made global warming and on the NWO agenda. I strenuously object, however, to his effusive promotion of DDT. Jim West wrote an eye-popping analysis of DDT and its relationship to Polio back in 2002. It is a MUST READ. Search using the keywords: westonprice Jim West pesticides polio. DDT is a neurotoxin, a poison!
Thanks, Urantia. I also knew that Monckton was way off with his comments on DDT, but was unaware that there was work linking DDT and DDT-like substances to polio. Interesting stuff....
Lord Monkton makes a good case of exposing the global warming crowd and their political/ financial agenda; not to mention their poor 'science'. He seems somewhat naive when it copmes to the ultimate purpose of the AGW movement: The one world fascist government that is soon do descend on humanity. The New World Order is being set-up right now in Copenhagen, under the pretense of environmentalism. DDTs were banned excatly for what it caused: Death to millions, the dream of the Nazi eugenicist.
Actually if you listen to some of his other videos he does talk about the NWO and how this is just a way for them to get their income through the taxes and fines. Just do a video search on his name will bring up quite a bit. Use google too will find quite a bit.
Why judge his good conclusions based on his personal belief that has nothing to do with the subject? He didnt say "God" told him Global Warming is a Hoax and that Al Gore is a but puppet. He is basing his case of off science and his political experience. Not his spiritual path.
Actually, religion has everything to do with it. First of all, we're told that "God created the heavens and the earth". Second, we're told that the earth was created for man, and not man for the earth. We're also told that in the end days, there will be summer and winter and seasons and rain and day and night, just like any other day, when the Lord Jesus is revealed. You may not be a believer, but for those of us who are, the AGW issue is front and center stage.
Hello. Besides being a Bible thumper, I'm also a mechanical engineer and a pilot, with greater understanding of metereology than the average folk. if you wish to discuss the 'science' of AGW, I'm ready!
I'm sorry to hear that. Once I left my pedantic, scientific attitude behind and began to read the Word of God, not only did I learn to love God, but all the random pieces of that great puzzle we call life...began to make sense. Today, I believe the Bible gives us what I call the true history of the world. By the way, there are Christian scientists who have come up with some amazing science to explain several of the events portrayed in scriptures. It really is fascinating. Have an open mind!!
Interesting comment. The Quaran has many of the historical books of the Christian Bible, including the major prophets and some of the minor ones. It has good and positive teachings applicable to daily living. Having said that, allow me to say that the Quaran encourages an attitude of peace towards Muslim believers, and unfathomable hatred towards the infidels. The Christian Bible teaches, preaches and encourages love and peace towards all mankind. God is Love my friend.
Two ultra conservatives on how bad the left is and making claims without any real evidence, big surprise. I was hoping to get some actual insight onto why global warming is used as a money grab by certain enterprising individuals. Instead I get these two talking about the left/right paradigm like the cold war is still on. All these guys have is their biased viewpoints that they claim as fact. The problem isn't left or right, it's the corporate machine that feeds off our base human qualities.
So you're going to throw out the baby with the bathwater? This isn't just two "ultra-conservatives" as you call them, with biased viewpoints. If you were paying attention you would have heard of the science that refutes the bedwetter's claims.
What science? Making a claim isn't science last I checked. When did a ex-politician and a propagandist become authorities in science? Instead he goes on with the left/right paradigm by saying his side is better then their side. Shower yourself in DDT if you trust in his word so much and let me know how you and your children turn out in 30 years. Like I said nothing more than two ultra-conservatives not realizing that its systemic and not left/right. A lack of education tends to do that I guess.
You must be kidding!!! Monckton has more on the ball than that fool Al Gore has. What are Gore's credentials? Gore is nothing but a money-grubbing scumbag. Suzuki has lost all credibility also over this scam.
I'm not talking about Al Gore, he's an ex politician as well. Like I said this isn't left/right... this is a systemic problem. Climate change is just a symptom of a larger problem. Most evironmental issues are. But if left/right, Monkton/Gore is what you want to believe to rienforce your uninformed beliefs than fine. Peer reviewed science speaks louder than any politician. I'll get my info from something more than just claims, I'm not taking either side until I can find info I can trust.
I believe the scientists that let the data speak for itself as opposed to those "scientists" that use tricks to hide the truth. Climate-gate has shown the lack of integrity on the part of the pro global warming scientists.
Sounds reasonable to me. Thats how all science should be and on most part I beleive it is. Like I said in my first comment I was disapointed because the majority of this interview was just two ultra conservatives stuck in their small left/right paradigm when in all probability it's both sides that are screwing us in the end. It's the illusion of debate and conflict that the rich and powerfull use to manipulate the masses.
Sure, but science isn't a religion. Nor is science the problem here, as a scientist is only as crediable in the end as his data. It's money and who funds what that you should be looking at and that ultimately leads to power. That's why peer review is so important, so that their data is completely transparent and open for scrutiny. Science isn't a question of belief and it never was. But I see what you're trying to say.
I use to dislike Al Gore but after viewing these five videos I absolutely hate the man! I used to like David Suzuki, now I want to throw him under a bus. I'm surprised there isn't global warming with those two windbags spewing their BS.
...the important thing is that the carbon tax is high enough to provide continued abundance for those that we pay to make our decisions for us( in there own best interests) to progress their parasitic ways. As long as they can afford to stay warm and commute, then it is all fine & good to them. Don't expect cheat & gainers to do anything more than they are capable of committing, it is the enabler that needs to do things differently. Perhaps a real forum democracy will emancipate humanity.
eldrak21, thanks for finding this and posting this. Lord Monckton will be hailed as a hero. I fear it won't be in his time. I think it's interesting only 1524 seemed to have made it through all 5 parts. This situation will turn around. I just hope the con artists responsible are held accountable.
good show. Must be open to listen. If you are an Al Gore fan, just pay some money to him and take a flu shot go to Afganistan. This is your destiny. all others enjoy the first nail in the Nwo coffin
Lord Monckton is a good guy. He doesn't stutter and makes sense. The globalist are not telling the truth and sounds like it. We all know what lies sound like , right?? Belive what you want. I don't think giving any money to fix a problem that is imagined will make it go away. I see a scam in the enviromental movements of any kind. You belive in the boogey man? Yes ? oh, I have some insence to make it go away. How many you want? Ok. Why does anyone do anything, profitAl Gore gets $300,000ea.speach
Agreed, climate change evangelists are todays modern snake oil salesmen. Al "Carbon Fart" Gore $300,000 speaker fee is shameful for all the lying he's propagandizing.
I totally agree with Lord Monckton I only think it is a shame he was talking about china and russia. He knows it, as we all know what it is:Global Governance which really is the source of this whole climate gate.
It is settled then , YOU give UN and Gore YOUR money, Ill be keeping mine..Thanks!
If this goes thru, Im gonna quit my job, and the Govt. are going to pay ME for NOT working instead, how about that ? It will be less money ofcourse, but the Stand has to be somewhere. Enjoy your Mercury LightBolbs and dubble Energy Bills ..

Michael Coren is an impressive host (and clearly no fool), and Monkcton never fails to be both interesting and witty.
Why can't we have more television like THIS (as we used to back in the Sixties and Seventies) ?
It'd never happen on the Beeb these days.
Or in the House of Commons.
I find that sad - and very, very worrying.

SuperDdy 2 years ago
Anyone interested, do the research!

Great insight from Lord Monckton. The truth will out if people search hard enough. Brilliant you put these vid's on YouTube.

The comments on this video reveal too much attention placed on the messengers and nothing paid to the issue at hand. In the end Susuki, Gore and Monkton are irrelevant to something that is a huge problem--climate change--whether it is real and destroying the world, or a manufactured hoax to suppress civilization.
Please don't get distracted.

Big121Dog 2 years ago
I had heard about this Monckton, but never heard him per se. This is a scary man indeed.
How come this political advisor gets to speak on a matter such as this? Aren't we supposed to get an educated opinion from people who actually know something about the issue at hand? He makes it sound like the climatology scientists don't know the first thing about the relevant sciences. Quite obviously he is first and foremost a politician.
This is ludicrous. And dangerous.
SingSingSE 2 years ago
Check into what he is saying. Its all true. He is simply relaying information, not making his own conclusions or assumptions. Do you want to die or have your economy plumit to the point of mass starvation and homlessness,, because thats what will happen if Gore and all the other crooks get this passed. Its already happening in the U.S. so this taxation will simply break you if you live there. Man contributed global warming is not an issue to the earth or us,, at all. Science has been corrupted.
ptangboy 2 years ago 4
@ptangboy
Well said.
explorer2101 2 years ago
We'll see what happens. He may very well be right on all accounts, I wouldn't know and obviously the scientific community and journals doesn't know what he's talking about either. This Monckton fellow seems to be first and foremost a propagandist, disregarding science.
SingSingSE 2 years ago
Al Gore fits that description you gave about Monkton very well also. It is because of Gore that the world is all hyped about global warming - he is the real leader in this whether it is about science or not. His movie contained 9 incorrect details, most importantly that co2 drives temperature,, that is the fundemental argument and has actually been proven to be the other way around. Dont worry though, that wont stop these people from revising their theory to accomodate it.
ptangboy 2 years ago
In the mean time I'll just have to listen to the 97,4% of climatology scientists who attribute the current warming to human activities. For me it seems like a sensible thing to do given my lack of competenses in relevant scientific fields.
The corrupted science simply is bogus it appears. Or do you feel inclined to draw educated conclusions regarding the current body of research?
I'm also listening to the 98% of the scientists who claim smoking causes cancer. How about you?
SingSingSE 2 years ago
There is no 97.4% of scientists supporting this theory. Where did you hear that? It is not based on reality and there was no poll taken on which climatology scientists agree and dont. Thats really quite a silly number to throw up. Anyways though, it doesnt matter to me what choices you make. There your choices and I respect them regardless of what they are.
ptangboy 2 years ago
ptangboy, such is the reality whether you like it or not.
SingSingSE 2 years ago
was that before or after it was suddenly shown how co2 does not drive temperature? That changes things a bit now doesnt it?
ptangboy 2 years ago
Well, since both deniers and AGW proponents know that CO2 is a GHG and that it therefore has the capacity to drive the weather, I'm wondering what kind of dreamworld you live in. That is not the question being discussed. The important properties of CO2 has been known for a very long time. Noone argues about that, except maybe for those who don't care much about science.
SingSingSE 2 years ago
Yes but it was originally thought that co2 was a direct driver of temperature. Now it has been seen to only augment it. Thus temperature is not determined by co2.
The effects of co2 on temperature has not been known for a very long time, its effects have been revised time and time again. It does effect temperature but it does not determine it. That is the very reason that the term "Global Warming" is being phased out. You wont even hear that phrase soon enough.
ptangboy 2 years ago 2
And do these surveys follow an unbiased approach. Are you saying they go out and contacts climatologists that are known to challenge AGW or are they just steered clear of? There is litteraly a poll and a statistic to prove anything you want. Im betting there were other polls done that showed much different results, especially if they were anonymous.
ptangboy 2 years ago
It's a scientific article. Therefore it should of course adhere to strict scientific methodology and academic standards. Like I said, look at it and see what you make out of it. Perhaps you'll realize that reality is quite different from what you currently believe.
SingSingSE 2 years ago
I know more than enough about the science and politics to see this is rigged.
What funding is there towards scientists that dont agree with AGW as a serious threat? There is NONE!!
ptangboy 2 years ago 2
Please let me know if you find something similar that supports the denialist viewpoint.
You know what? I bet you won't find it.
SingSingSE 2 years ago
How could you ever think that the side that is not supported by government heads would get the same attention and publicity? How do you see this as an unbiased debate? Do you know how funding works in scientific study - how scientists recieve funding?
To say there is a consensus when any voice challenging it is silenced and cast aside is very unscientific of you.
ptangboy 2 years ago 2
I actually dont take what scientists say to be of much value, and certainly dont take thier findings as factual truth. They are often wrong and often revise their theories. That is understandable but when they claim they are certain of something and then later change their mind, well, that is totaly different and I suspec that is the case here. The scientific community was in the same position in the 1970's when the big scare was of an incoming ice age. Now they have flopped on that.
ptangboy 2 years ago
You may not hold science very high. But please do not jump out of a window simply because you don't have a good feeling about Newton or Einstein.
Regarding the 70's ice age scare. Science NEVER said anything about an impending ice age. That is simply an urban myth. Newspapers and magazines did exploit the story though. But that is not science, quite the opposite. Science actually warned about AGW even in the 70's, but obviously the scientific body and research was much smaller. How about that?
SingSingSE 2 years ago
You think the media hype is any different now? This consensus you and others speak of simply does not exist. That is what some politicians, scientists and the media claim but that doesnt make it so.
The IPCC is the only agency that proposes human co2 to be causing a serious and imminent threat. The only real consensus is that it has gotten warmer, not that humans have caused that. Im not asking you about this or hoping its correct, I know it is.
ptangboy 2 years ago
Well there is a vast difference. In the 70's no scientists were talking about an impending ice age (at least not for another 20000 years).
Your view on science is very clear and you can close your eyes all you want. That still won't magically change physical nature. I assume those in power knows what to do when 97,4% of the climatologists say there are problems ahead.
FYI, in the real world, 97,4% is considered consensus. Especially when it comes to science. 100% of the dissidents may differ.
SingSingSE 2 years ago
In the 70's there was scare spread round the world of a soon upcoming ice age. It was mostly the media commenting on it and pushing the theory,, just as is the case now. You were probably not old enough to remember if you were even alive at all.
So you cling to your poll even though there is real evidence of extorsion involved in the study. On top of that there is no funding directed towards scientists that challenge AGW, scientists like John Christy, formerly of IPCC.
ptangboy 2 years ago 3
He as well as many other lead scientists on the intergovernmental panel withdrew their support and asked their names be removed from the studies. The names however were not removed so the IPCC is also guilty of misrepresentation. You seriously dont see the fraud of this?
ptangboy 2 years ago 3
Never heard of it before, but if that's the case, it's obviously not good.

He actually does a lot of research in terms of consulting with universities and examines the actual facts.
There are many scientists that agree with him but they are often in a more difficult position as they have more to lose by being as vocal about it.
I have seen him speak a few times and he does quote actual scientific research that inform his opinions.
I for one am grateful that someone like him is prepared to stick their neck out & speak up.
explorer2101 2 years ago 8
So he's an aggregator, or editor...at best. But not a climatology scientist, am I right? I'm sure he is convincing and a fresh alternative to the boring old scientists who never leave the lab. His opinions does not change any facts though.
Could very well be that there's a huge body of scientists who don't speak up. If that's the case, science in general will take a huge blow. If it's not the case we have an overwhelming consensus in support of AGW. Like it or not....
SingSingSE 2 years ago
Its no secret that extorsion and racketeering played a role in this scientific study. I too would choose to wait and see what happens, but from what Ive seen and read on the topic it appears to wreak with corruption.

Sounds plausible, but I deeply resent the parallel being drawn to atheism, which is (as GW science should be) entirely based on skepticism. Dogma and indisputability are guns of the opposite (apparently his) campus.
Hear it's quite cold in Copenhagen.
Sure hope noone gets frostbit up there.
kifameno 2 years ago
kifameno - Atheism based on skepticism? Do you mean, perhaps, Agnosticism? Atheism is more certain that there is no supreme nonphysical deity, Agnosticism is more skeptical of our ability to be certain that such a being exists or does not exist, (or know what the nature/attributes of this hypothetical higher power might be).
TheGayConservative 2 years ago
kifameno - Some aspects of "Liberalism" can be strongly rooted in epistemological skepticism.

DanMorin007 2 years ago
Yet Canada and US produce gigantic amounts of garbage through over consumption of disposable products. We too have much to change. Being rich however, gives us opportunities to do so that poor countries would not have.

ChoasTheory2000 2 years ago
So you're going to throw out the baby with the bathwater? This isn't just two "ultra-conservatives" as you call them, with biased viewpoints. If you were paying attention you would have heard of the science that refutes the bedwetter's claims.
auggiedoggy 2 years ago 2
What science? Making a claim isn't science last I checked. When did a ex-politician and a propagandist become authorities in science? Instead he goes on with the left/right paradigm by saying his side is better then their side. Shower yourself in DDT if you trust in his word so much and let me know how you and your children turn out in 30 years. Like I said nothing more than two ultra-conservatives not realizing that its systemic and not left/right. A lack of education tends to do that I guess.
ChoasTheory2000 2 years ago
You must be kidding!!! Monckton has more on the ball than that fool Al Gore has. What are Gore's credentials? Gore is nothing but a money-grubbing scumbag. Suzuki has lost all credibility also over this scam.
auggiedoggy 2 years ago 2
I'm not talking about Al Gore, he's an ex politician as well. Like I said this isn't left/right... this is a systemic problem. Climate change is just a symptom of a larger problem. Most evironmental issues are. But if left/right, Monkton/Gore is what you want to believe to rienforce your uninformed beliefs than fine. Peer reviewed science speaks louder than any politician. I'll get my info from something more than just claims, I'm not taking either side until I can find info I can trust.
ChoasTheory2000 2 years ago
I believe the scientists that let the data speak for itself as opposed to those "scientists" that use tricks to hide the truth. Climate-gate has shown the lack of integrity on the part of the pro global warming scientists.
auggiedoggy 2 years ago 5
Sounds reasonable to me. Thats how all science should be and on most part I beleive it is. Like I said in my first comment I was disapointed because the majority of this interview was just two ultra conservatives stuck in their small left/right paradigm when in all probability it's both sides that are screwing us in the end. It's the illusion of debate and conflict that the rich and powerfull use to manipulate the masses.
ChoasTheory2000 2 years ago
The Climate Computer Models are rubish, that's a certainty.
I don't believe in the "Peer reviewed science", it's like the old Catholic Church that said the world is flat and if you disagree your a heretic.
Power is what is at issue here today, in the present, you are to pay a tithe, and if you are wealthy you pay a dispensation.
chewbaca1989 2 years ago
Sure, but science isn't a religion. Nor is science the problem here, as a scientist is only as crediable in the end as his data. It's money and who funds what that you should be looking at and that ultimately leads to power. That's why peer review is so important, so that their data is completely transparent and open for scrutiny. Science isn't a question of belief and it never was. But I see what you're trying to say.
ChoasTheory2000 2 years ago
I use to dislike Al Gore but after viewing these five videos I absolutely hate the man! I used to like David Suzuki, now I want to throw him under a bus. I'm surprised there isn't global warming with those two windbags spewing their BS.

As long as they can afford to stay warm and commute, then it is all fine & good to them.
