  • I love this song , iam from congo but i can`t even understand a world, I only speak swahili

  • Black africans used to make th emost increadible music, oddly enough, despite poverty, modernity caught up with them and now their popular musc is just as bad a the crap that nows dominates in the West, They have dumbed-down sebene, while the west has ganster rap and R&B. In the congo, like in the west, the musical gems are in the underground, mostly unrecognised by the people who seem content with predictable mediocrity comming out if itunes and the radio stations.

  • @OBSysteme Fuck u! y listen to African music then? fuck u!

  • @Dennohustler I invite you to re-read what I was saying very carefully and think about it. I am actually a big fan of african music, just not the popular crap that is force-fed on the people. The fact that we are chatting here on a Massu video of the days of old tells me you might agree with me.

  • @OBSysteme -I'm sorry pal,I just mis-understood your comment.sorry sorry.

She died two years ago in may 2008 after her husband Ndeko died of AIDS related illness. Don't know why some people still think she is alive. She passed away, it's even mentioned in AOL site.

  • Basically she is reminding Massou that they were good friends, they shared all together but they got separated because of Massou spreading all kinda bad and untrue rumeurs about her. Every time she got something new and good going on in her life Massou was jealous and was talking trash about her

  • This is one of the best from the Great Franco Luanzo Makiadi. I love it and it reminds me a lot of my childhood in Tanzania as the radio station used to play this a lot. Massu! can any one translate it for me?

  • sorry to ask, do you know the meaning of this song? I'd like to know as I used to listen to it when i was young back in Tanzania, though i don't completely know what they say.

  • Esi ebimi ?

  • I love Jolie Detta

  • MASU IT'S A SONG!!!!!! I love the rythm, the fanfare or trompette.

I was very young, remember my mother used to listen in LP records and we used to watch that show on Tele Zaire. The show used to be called Zaire No 1 if i recall well.

Life was good in kinshasa before the 'pillage" and wars in congo.

  • i freakin love this song here, i dont understand what she is saying but i remember this tune from along time ago growning up in africa,i miss africa.

  • This is a classic, Sad because there is less opportunity for women in Congolese music except christian music!

  • i agree with you its a classic and its one of my best classics i got a lot of memories with that song

  • There is a young Lady from London her name is Mimitah. She is elegant, talented and is meshing the new and old together. You can see her video on You Tube.

  • You're right. I don't really see any Congolese like Mbilia Bel, Mpongo or Yondo Sister these days. It seems the only role they have now is being dancers. The dancers are good, but these old school ladies are so classy!

  • Such a classic piece of film here!

  • cool a rythm

  • That is just a pure "congolese touch"...from the band: TP OK jazz du Grand Maitre Franco".Jolie Deta is just a pure african beauty...that's "Kitoko"..c'est tout juste merveilleux..j'aime trop cette chanson..de Jolie Deta..Haaa le bon vieux temp du Zaire alias Congo-Kinshasa.

  • I forgot her name...can you remind me...it wasn't Massu, right, that's just the song title?

  • Jolie Detta.

  • Hey - Thanks for sharing this in the past. I saw that you blocked me. However, there was no point for this. I might have spoken quickly. I apologise for the hurt I might have caused. Let us continue being friends and in the future. I didn't look at the big picture when I wrote to you! Cheers and remember, we are family!!

  • The bestest!

  • Likambo te, cherie... Why did God have to invent death?

  • chirsbbt i'm not from Zaire, I'm African. and I think that we don't have to belong to a country to like its music..

  • bizarre mais jprefer les anciennes chansons

  • The video is great. I admire and like the dancing very much. How I wish to have a copy. Though not a Congolese I try my best to sing and dance a long the song. Thank you Jolie and Yondo.

  • It is a great piece. I keep on listening and watching it all long. It revives, releases the stress in me. I wish we could still have such great Arican Artists.
