@fidel4011 most of these videos are recorded off a tv since the equipment to properly convert the video isn't readily available or affordable. The digital timer will belong to the camera that is videoing the tv...

@stromli1 LOL i don't think any UFO movies are real... But your comment about HD back in 1948 is stupid! They used film, and they get much higher resolution than today, considering they used 35mm films the resolution is about 10 megapixels more or less, while 1080p HD is 2 megapixels.

there are many UFO movies that are definitely real, but the problem is that the "U" just means "unidentified", and there hasn't been any proof to go further than that. Some of these crafts may be man-made, but if they are, they are impressive and almost certainly top-secret military machines - which would explain why they mostly fly at night

@pixel8x Have you ever been to a theater ? They used projectors to show movies, everytime extending 1080p, you need 2K or 4K digital projectors to compete with films. Anyways, i'm no believer of alien UFO, they are UFOs until we know what they are after all. In the vasteness of space, if a species really fought us, i doubt they'd use physical, obvious ship on Earth, when our own species doesn't need it either with satellite surveillance.

Hello Justa4t. I don't know where the people from Latest UFO Sightings are getting these footages from, they are very good. Who's releasing them? I can't recognize the logo at all. But I wouldn't be surprised, after all the recent governmental activity releasing (NSA, FBI, etc.) classified documents that these videos come out in the open. Maybe "Disclosure" is finally happening? I sure hope so!

@justa4t This is Russian; Soundwavebr is 100% right. Now this could be fake, but at the same time there has been a lot of disclosure going on in that country along with the current sightings of UFOs. I hope you receive confirmation about the source of this material. If its fake, I will have to congratulate whoever did this along with the Alien footage.

@incertusveritas this cannot be from the 40's.  They did not have the ability to input digital captcha on the screen. That came after the 70's. The time on the video obviously makes this a fake.

@jamesgambino Good eye! That is true. It first appeared in the 50's. This could also be a digital conversion to keep it on record. I've saved some childhood 8mm films into a digital format and it has the running time digitally inserted visually on the screen (scene) to be able to divide into scenes for fast scene location. I just don't know and no one knows where this came from except the person who inserted it in the web.

@jamesgambino Depending on the format; in this particular case I would have to say it is the date taken/transfered. The fact is that it comes from Russia; that makes me seriously doubt its truthfulness. There have been a lot of alien fake videos coming out of Russia lately. /watch?v=Z8STQ9wrRcg

@jamesgambino Yep. This video is making the rounds...but I suspect it's a forgery. I reviewed SMPTE time codes (on several sites). It was introduced in 1984. Samples (from various sources)on old 8 and 16mm stock transfers to video don't resemble this video. Also,notice how the timecode is "washed over" by the editor...along with the black/white balance. Very suspicious.Timecodes were non-existent in 1948...and the pros used clapperboards(for editing).
