All artist lip sync because they have a career to think about, no voice no career, Celine does use pre-recorded track of the power of love and love you more, but she also sings the first verses & endings live and its not all her show's are pre-recorded she does also sing live so callling her a fraud is a little harsh as you do hear her live, which is more than most artist of today who pre-record the whole show.

You can hear differences between the two songs. Some words are either longer or shorter....she did lip every now and then in her show but its still 100% her voice! She still hit those high notes and they didnt edjt it like they would a cd track....so stop waisting you life making videos trying to make people think Celine Dion doesnt sing live -.-
I love that talentless people do these videos. It is hilarious! If you had to sing that many times in a year, you would lipsync also. both are live performance..if you really pay attention carefully to actually her singing ..there's some slight differences. Some phrases are cut earlier, or held a little longer! Yet I can tell you..she has had performances where she did actually lip sync and you can tell by the fact that she will move more than usual..usually that happens in TV appearances. So yeah!

The only bit that was live was the mmmm mmmmm bits at the very end. I don't have a problem with Celine lipping certain songs in "live" shows, it's typically only songs where the vocal makes or breaks it like this one.
Plus she hides it so well, on songs like Power of Love she moves from live to lipped with no noticeable change in pitch or tone! That is talent.
If you have listened to celine as obsessively as i have, and know her vioce, you would be able to tell that there are suttle differences in the tone.....but no your idiotic to the point where you dont understand that she sang the same song five nights a week for five years....no duh its gonna sound similar!!!
Most people don't understand the she has been lip syncing most of her songs for years on end, the same songs too. Some of the songs, she will start out by actually singing the first few lines, then the lip-sync vocals will come in and she will lip the rest of the song. The power of love is a great example of this, that last note always sounds the same, and has for years, and so does the rest of the song, but apparently a lot of other songs too.
Mariah in her prime was able to sing her songs better than the recording, but you can always tell when she sings live. Celine lips alot but she does need to try and preserve her voice, but she should not fake people out of their money.
idiot...you should check her prodigy 'Charice'...she sings the same everytime if you have noticed...but that doesn't mean she is lip-synching....and also, Charice improves her performance as she sings it more, but she can still sing the same song exactly like its supposed to be....

She always sings most of her concert live, I would love her to never lipsynch, but if that can give her voice a rest, if that allows her to not overuse her intrument, it's fine. You seem to be very angry at her in this vid. I'm not a huge céline's fan so it does'nt affect me that much and i think she can sing live. But if you're a fan you should be trying to understand her and why she did that instead of bringing her down. she IS hell of a good singer so the tones are nearly sung identically.. thats what makes professionals professional :) believe me.. there is no lipsync in this.. at least not in this case.. i am not quite sure about "power of love"'s high note at the end.. but in anyway prerecordings do not prove she is a bad singer, just that she did it around 1000 times and is fed up doing it all over again..

I don't think the videos were completely in sync.There were key places where they weren't in sync and if you expected to here completely out of sync versions then I suspect you were expecting some amateur singer instead of a almost-legend like Celine Dion. With her experience and her vocals I'm not surprised she can be very consistent in her performances. She may have lip sync-ed in her performances, not ruling out that, but what I'm trying to say is, this video doesn't prove anything. :)

Singing that many nights in a row is obviously straining to anyones' voice. Even if this is lipped whats the difference? At age 41 Celine already proved she can sing and it makes no difference to me if its lipped or live.

You can not sing exactly the same everytime the human voice is not man made.. you may be able to sing the melody and hit the notes the same but the differences in the vibrato and falsetto will be noticeably different.

its about .9 seconds slower bc the sound is in a different arena which can be smaller so the sound takes longer to bounce, its still about the exact same in synch...Impossible for real singers

@Dallas3212 To love you more is a recording from 1996 as far as I'm aware. In the later shorter version however, she comes in completely live for the 'oh's' of the end section but the track takes over for the last note. I think when she 'lips' she is actually singing (obviously not to full capacity) but her mic is basically turned way down and the track overpowers her. It would also make sense to do that so her voice is a little warmed up for when she is switching in and out of live and lip. :)

Also you can hear the difference in sound quality between the playback and her mic if you watch different performances of 'To love you more' from TC tour. Very few people believe me but if you compare videos enough it becomes obvious. I would love it if the whole thing was live but I guess it's her most technically difficult hit. :D
idk, I'm pretty sure I heard a difference. It was subtle, but there nonetheless. She has a stronger accent in one of them. And she sings louder and different parts.
My heart will go on is one of those songs that you can't mess up on, you have to sing it right EVERY TIME and it is her song so i would think she can sing it perfectly
People who are used to working with 'sound' have a pretty good ear for when a voice has been electronically manipulated. Breathiness, hard consonant sounds, sharpness, timbre, etc., are smoothed over. So, it's not just a question of comparing performances that are so alike; it's also about being able to hear the qualitative difference in the sound . Sorry folks.

What show was this? I can't remember a time when anyone is close enough to Celine during these lipped numbers to be able to hear anything from her mouth. LOL. She sings live and lips a few numbers, too. Big whoop. But MHWGO has been lipped since 2003: every A New Day... show and every Taking Chances Tour performance. Heck, I've seen her perform when the backing track fails or she has to re-do a song because she didn't mime it right [That's Just The Woman In Me TV Special recording]

Lol but it is possible that she sings something under the playback, it just wouldn't be detected due to the pre-recorded vocal blending over her. Have you seen the Arizona performance of all by myself? Both her and the track start the big ANYMORE note. Softly singing with or completely miming to, she's using playback vocals, FACT. But I do undestand why and LOVE Celine! Saw her back in May last year and she was awesome :D

There's definitely something coming out of her throat and mouth during these numbers, but the sound is normally mixed so well we can't hear it. You're right about the ABM, you can hear both. i'm afraid there is no difference between the two videos, each note is an exact copy, she finishes each note in exactly the same place, her pronunciation is a complete twin. the only reason it may sound a bit different is because one is slightly in front of the other. if anything, that enhances the similarities between the two. she has the capacity to sing live, n obv the voice is precious, but..... when u have a talent like that.....

You know when she started lipsticking? After her Unison tour when she almost lost her voice due to constantly singing 100% live and hard notes. After that she wasn't even allowed to speak for quite some time.
I have seen her in the Taking Chances tour and her voice is in top shape, and I for one don't think any song from that concert were lipsticked.

Mariah in her prime was able to sing her songs better than the recording, but you can always tell when she sings live. Celine lips alot but she does need to try and preserve her voice, but she should not fake people out of their money.

Ultimate shame? Nope... She always sings most of her concert live, I would love her to never lipsynch, but if that can give her voice a rest, if that allows her to not overuse her intrument, it's fine. I would rather hear her live all the time, but if she uses pre recorded tracks for a couple of songs, I'm a bit disapointed but I'm not that upset. I'm happy if I get to SEE her live too you know?

You seem to be very angry at her in this vid. I'm not a huge céline's fan so it does'nt affect me that much and i think she can sing live. But if you're a fan you should be trying to understand her and why she did that instead of bringing her down. I don't think she"s mean and trying to take the monney of her fans but they wanna hear perfection. So she's under pressure and what would you do if you were in her position. she IS hell of a good singer so the tones are nearly sung identically.. thats what makes professionals professional :) believe me.. there is no lipsync in this.. at least not in this case.. i am not quite sure about "power of love"'s high note at the end.. but in anyway prerecordings do not prove she is a bad singer, just that she did it around 1000 times and is fed up doing it all over again..
she is still one of the best female singers ever.. with or without prerecording

I don't think the videos were completely in sync.There were key places where they weren't in sync and if you expected to here completely out of sync versions then I suspect you were expecting some amateur singer instead of a almost-legend like Celine Dion. With her experience and her vocals I'm not surprised she can be very consistent in her performances. She may have lip sync-ed in her performances, not ruling out that, but what I'm trying to say is, this video doesn't prove anything. :)

You can not sing exactly the same everytime the human voice is not man made.. you may be able to sing the melody and hit the notes the same but the differences in the vibrato and falsetto will be noticeably different.
the vocals here as in others are identical.

its about .9 seconds slower bc the sound is in a different arena which can be smaller so the sound takes longer to bounce, its still about the exact same in synch...Impossible for real singers

@Dallas3212 To love you more is a recording from 1996 as far as I'm aware. In the later shorter version however, she comes in completely live for the 'oh's' of the end section but the track takes over for the last note. I think when she 'lips' she is actually singing (obviously not to full capacity) but her mic is basically turned way down and the track overpowers her. It would also make sense to do that so her voice is a little warmed up for when she is switching in and out of live and lip. :)

Also you can hear the difference in sound quality between the playback and her mic if you watch different performances of 'To love you more' from TC tour. Very few people believe me but if you compare videos enough it becomes obvious. I would love it if the whole thing was live but I guess it's her most technically difficult hit. :D

People who are used to working with 'sound' have a pretty good ear for when a voice has been electronically manipulated. Breathiness, hard consonant sounds, sharpness, timbre, etc., are smoothed over. So, it's not just a question of comparing performances that are so alike; it's also about being able to hear the qualitative difference in the sound . Sorry folks.

What show was this? I can't remember a time when anyone is close enough to Celine during these lipped numbers to be able to hear anything from her mouth. LOL. She sings live and lips a few numbers, too. Big whoop. But MHWGO has been lipped since 2003: every A New Day... show and every Taking Chances Tour performance. Heck, I've seen her perform when the backing track fails or she has to re-do a song because she didn't mime it right [That's Just The Woman In Me TV Special recording]

I kinda get what you're saying... if indeed you REALLY were that close! Lol but it is possible that she sings something under the playback, it just wouldn't be detected due to the pre-recorded vocal blending over her. Have you seen the Arizona performance of all by myself? Both her and the track start the big ANYMORE note. Softly singing with or completely miming to, she's using playback vocals, FACT. But I do undestand why and LOVE Celine! Saw her back in May last year and she was awesome :D

Oh, yeah, for sure... she's singing along with it, and her mic is either off or way down. There's definitely something coming out of her throat and mouth during these numbers, but the sound is normally mixed so well we can't hear it. You're right about the ABM, you can hear both. I think it's one of the first times we've heard both vocals in her career recently. I'll message you about your other question.

i'm afraid there is no difference between the two videos, each note is an exact copy, she finishes each note in exactly the same place, her pronunciation is a complete twin. the only reason it may sound a bit different is because one is slightly in front of the other. if anything, that enhances the similarities between the two. she has the capacity to sing live, n obv the voice is precious, but..... when u have a talent like that.....

Singing 5 days a week for 5 years, with all those power vocals, do you think she would have still had a voice now if they were all live?
You know when she started lipsticking? After her Unison tour when she almost lost her voice due to constantly singing 100% live and hard notes. After that she wasn't even allowed to speak for quite some time.
I have seen her in the Taking Chances tour and her voice is in top shape, and I for one don't think any song from that concert were lipsticked.
