Also, The Beatles may have sold more ONLY because they had like a 30 year head start. Michael's already catching up and he will OVERTAKE their sales overall.

Btw, Thriller sells around 20, 000 copies a week....25 years later. The Beatles may have been around for a short while but still there's YEARS of sales.

This was EARLY in the 80's so of course more music came along that rocked the 80's. I LOVE the 80's - 80's and 90's were BEST era's for music. Apparently sales were just weak in the early 80's - the market sucked NOT the music. Also, Thriller was already BIG before the moonwalk...the moonwalk just made it HUGE! Billie Jean was #1 for 7 weeks! HUGE song! Beat It #1 for 3 weeks.

It's ALSO important to accept the fact that The Beatles were a band with THREE people contributing to songwriting while MJ was a solo artist (he wrote ALL of bad by himself and it had 5 #1's - still a record!). Beatles released albums like every year for 10 years and MJ released albums every 4 yrs.
