I loved the fuck out of the runnin rebels!! But it doesnt take a rocket scientist to know that the 91 final four matchup between duke and unlv was fixed by "The Fixer" How do you play a team a year before in the championship, then play them again the next year in the final four? Anything to make the pussy-ass white "Duke" boys look good!! Damn shame.

I remember watching the 1991 quarter finals, and thinking to myself, "this is not the same team from last year". They beat the brakes off the very same team(Duke), and just seemed not to be in the building then. I hoped that it wasn't fixed, but I know in my heart it was. Damn shame, could have been way above any other team, EVER!

This was the best college basketball team of my lifetime. I say that because it was basically the same team in 1991, which for my money was unbeatable. My late father insisted that Richard Perry had those guys fix that Duke semifinal game. I dunno...as much as I hate Duke, they had a great team. But no one played like UNLV did. It's too bad those guys were labeled as 'thugs' and crap because they were black and had fun. Greg Anthony is a freakin' Republican! SMH

@cbaldwinjr Well said. If you're black and aggressive, not a choir boy that constantly tows the line like the Dookies, you get called a "thug", or the like. Same with G-town and Michigan back then. Rose was exactly right. The Dookies got squashed cuz they played guys who played like men; tough, ferocious, highly athletic men. Coach K. is a tremendous coach at the college level, but he'd never succeed as well at the pro level, cuz he has to have these candy-ass choir boys who will be submissive.

THOSE WERE GREAT TIMES UNLV!!! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A REPEAT AND A PERFECT SEASON IN 1991, BUT IT'S ALL GOOD!! DUKE IS A GREAT TEAM TOO!! I'M JUST GLAD I LIVED TO SEE MY HOMETOWN RUNNING REBELS BECOME THE BEST TEAM IN AMERICA!!
