  • Yes, and no offense to Blur or Oasis. I like them too, but they don't quite have the depth that Pulp possesses.

  • Jarvis is a funny man. Pulp are so fucking great :')

  • I looked up that band Wet Wet Wet that Jarvis said he hates. He's right - they suck and are really annoying! I just watched that video for Love Is All Around and it reminded me of the song in Animal House where the guy is singing to 2 girls "I gave my love a chicken that had no bone". :)

  • It fuckin is that national antem of South Yorkshire. Too fuckin right!

  • 1:04 evil

  • totaly agree

  • Jarvis is my boyfriend

  • that whole album was amazing!

  • Are number 1

  • Pulp is No.1

  • well said

  • pulp is a great band, i rate them higher than blur and oasis

  • Pulp ARE a great band, not IS. Plural not singular.

  • Wouldn't it indeed be IS, because Pulp is the collective word for the members in the band. The comment is about the band as a whole, which is one thing, not about the individual members?

  • Yes, and band being plural!

  • Band isn't plural! It's one thing! That's why there are tshirts that read: "I'm with THE band." And why you would say: "I'm in A band." It's called a Collective Noun.

  • I'm not a native speaker of English, but I teach the language, and actually both singular and plural forms are correct with collective nouns like band, family, class, etc. Singular forms are more common when the group is seen as an impersonal unit, and plural when we see the group as a collection of individuals. Singular forms are more common in American English (after Michael Swan's 'Practical English Usage' published by OUP in 1996).

  • Aren't you clever!

  • @AshtonArcher

sorry mate, but "band" is not plural just cos there's more than one person in it.

    the plural would be "bands"

    so there!

  • Ok, but you ARE a dick.

  • @AshtonArcher its nice to meet some one who is piccky about grammar like me ...cheers.

  • @AshtonArcher Actually, you're wrong. Pulp is a band and therefore when talking about the band, they must be singular, not plural, if you were referring to the members of the band, that would be different. The members of Pulp are great. But the band is only one band. So Pulp is a great band. Not are.

  • @seviwesuohetarepsed Not really. As someone said earlier both forms are grammatically correct. Just that the form of 'is' is more prevelant in American English - it just sounds wrong to English ears. But I'm not wrong.

  • @AshtonArcher Yeah, you're right. Sorry mate, both forms are correct. I'm from Australia and I did a little bit of research and you're right.

  • @AshtonArcher Pulp were one band as identified by your reference 'a great band' hence, singular. Thank you. Don't get up.

  • @avenlac Fail.

  • @AshtonArcher America are a great nation?

  • @avenlac Oh the irony. Turn the light off on your way out.

  • Jarvis is just godlike, see how Steve looks at him! He's truly amazing & one of the funniest, down to earth people i've heard of.

I'm actually praying for a Pulp reunion, or at least for Jarvis to come back and tour the UK. I missed him in Manchester last year! :(

  • His N Hers was a better album in my opinion.

  • Lipgloss is the only song that really catches me from His 'n' Hers.

I prefer This is Hardcore overall.

I know it's darker and seedier than the others but I think that Jarvis does it well.

  • Lol they really are good friends, aren't they? Bless. Incidentally, I Hate Wet Wet Wet.

  • I think Steve looks at Jarvis lovingly. Aww.

  • I love listening to Jarvis speak and man, Steve's nice to look at.

  • this is a good video and I'm the firt to comment and I have to say well yeah it took them over 15 years but look at them at the top of brit charts
