Rhyme Asylum got slept on, Lowkey fucked off to the states, Jehst got slept on, Same shit happened to Braintax, Sway disappeared, last I heard Roots Manuva was running a cafe in south London, Doc Browns doing comedy these days. And in the meantime, cunts like Chipmunk are all over my fucking TV saying "I'm the best in the bizz". Fucks Sake.

  • he NEEDS to do a collab with rhyme asylum!!!!!

  • @nemoz95 No offense to RA i dig them dudes, but the fact is Jehst is on some real life shit.

  • @JakyRedEyes RA rap about real life too (Lost is a good example). Yeah I get what you mean but it depends on what you like. RA's lyrics are fantastical but they're characterised by very intelligent metaphors. Jehst is sick but he can't make puns like they do.

  • this is amazing. this is wat i put on wen i need to be reminded of great hiphop.

  • After re-listening to Jehst and Klashnekoff gems I'm remined that dope Hip-Hop used to come out of the UK before grime tookover. I now only listen to American Hip-Hop, and "Alcoholic Author" is way greater than anything by Devlin & Pro Green, who everyones really feeling at the moment, which is shameful.

  • @19MJsPr89 A salute to you and all the other like minded listeners. Well said.

  • US hip hop has had its day. This is where its fucking at

  • @AtStreetLevel The US is still producing classics, but like it is over here, you've just gotta know where to look

  • Comment removed

  • @shaolinsword it's only the US underground thats worth looking at. RA, jedi mind tricks, immortal technique, etc

    The mainstream is dead.

  • @A736staz True. That's the same anywhere though

  • @AtStreetLevel this is an old song you numpty.

  • @AtStreetLevel Don't chat shit because you like a UK artist lol

  • @AtStreetLevel no doubt. most US shit is all the same today. the UK has the fresh shit, wish i was over there

  • people moan about jehst not being recognised. The fact that him and other similar artists arent recognised makes them what they are. If they became recognised their music would change to suit the mainstream style of music. I appreciate the fact that 14 year old girls arent posting jehst all over facebook, they would just be unwanted fans.

  • so underrated, takes the piss really. Soo sick

  • @andzo3000

Pfff i feel you man....it hurts.

  • @andzo3000 its too poetic to be highly rated, intelligent music will always suffer in the shadows of unintelligable commercial mediocrity

  • ohh wariorss samplee thats hot

  • "son of the devil I turn wine into water"

  • CLASSIC!!!

  • . . . Jehst, man i loved him when i was younger. . amazing album

  • @chaserbaser1988 PEACE FAM ONE LOVE THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT

Yeah I know it well and have the soundtrack on vinyl, I was quoting that line 'who are the warriors?!' in memory of this crazy old bald barber that used to shout it out and make me laugh in the chair! And suggesting the real warriors are the true heads of the UK HipHop scene like Jeh5st as we are on his tune for example.

    peace from sw uk

  • me encanta

  • Next year this banger will be a decade old. Amazing, shows Jehst's longevity and his timeless style. Big up the drifter.

  • I'm neither UK nor US, I'm Irish and I love the UK stuff because in terms of slang and subject matter I can generally relate to the UK heads more, but whatever the accent or language a great MC is a great MC... Personally I love hearing accents, Hip Hop is about representing where you're from, a truly great MC should be able to tell you and explain what life is like where he or she lives, and Jehst passes the test IMO...

  • @executivesteve Im Irish too but im all for UK Hip Hop,i do listen to some US stuff but nothing compare to the liked of Roots Manuva,Braintax,Jehst etc

  • Great comment

  • Not really. You guys produced some amazing rappers in the past. American rap is seen s a joke nowadays, what with talentless idiots like flow rider and lupe fiasco. Still, you guys have Eminem, he makes everyone look like an amateur. British rappers are okay, nothing special though. This guys a bit lame.

  • i'm curious, why would you put Lupe Fiasco in the category of "talentless idiots"?

  • Lupe talentless? He isn't anywhere near the depth of Jehst but his lyrics have such brilliantly woven latencies and underlying complexity and his flow is absoloutely incredible. He is one of the few mainstream rappers I actually like. And by the fact you called Jehst lame I'm guessing you didn't take time to look into what his lyrics were actually saying. Would also explain why you don't like Lupe maybe? I do agree Eminem is incredible though.

  • @lkinop i love jehst but come on man lupe lyrics another thing. streets are on fire etc. wow

  • @moodini99 dont talk about eminem i cant understand y everyone thinks hes so amazing hes maintstream like everyone else now

underground and old school 4 life

    the music of educated ppl

  • though eminem is mainstream, you cant argue he is influential on the lives of so many people, he is a good lyricist, and many enjoy his music. don't hate on him just 'cause he is mainstream, people need to learn that you should like something based on your opinions, not those around you.

  • @94george94 im not sure ive ever heard an eminem song with any actual meaning. his lyrics are all about how much people hate him cos he's such a badboy, what influences can you get from listening to the most egotistical man in music sing about himself for 4 solid minutes?

  • sing for the moment - eminem.
