Laura deceived Gabriel.. He shouldn't have accepted to resort to vampirism, t'wasn't the only way. But deep inside, he was so devastated by the revelation of being made to murder his beloved wife & also of the impossibility to bring her back, that he turned to embrace Darkness. It was a lie that he "had no choice" one he wanted to believe in. Gabriel CHOSE to corrupt himself in the end cause he couldn't bear Marie's loss.
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as the Castlevania series. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
Off the subject. Just beat the game! Good overall but TOO MANY puzzles! No place for puzzles in an adventure game. Must be at least 20-30 if not more. Complaints about puzzles in game call KONAMI at 310-220-8330. Hopefully the next one has no puzzles or animals stealing our relics/magic.
Quick question that I could use your opinion on. I found the collector's edition on sale for $40 bucks which included the game, art book, and the soundtrack. Worth it?
Is it possible that Gabriel is the founder of the Belmont bloodline? I mean Lords of Shadow takes place ca. 40 years before the other castelvania games...
Well this makes a great change from the Prog-rock-esque themes that i keep hearing among other Castlevania character themes :)
This song just feels so full of promise of adventure, and prepares you for the long, gruelling road ahead as you wander through the valley of the Shadow of Death to finally face your destiny and become a true hero :3
This puzzle was enjoyable to solve. And honestly one of the hardest in the games
"Fourth week of the month of the virgin, the moon will overtake the sun."
seriously, trying figuring it out. If it wasn't for the pride I have as a gamer and a castlevania fan, I prolly would've skipped it. (That and I probably wouldn't have gotten ultimate light and thus horribly face-rape the last boss with it.)
@Sukuraidogai. Castlevania Lament of Innocence came out before God of War, years before it, thus GOW DID NOT innovate today's action genre. In fact, DMC is what started it, and Castlevania has been in that genre long before since the 80's, it just lacked the technology.
I have played all Castlevania titles and i think you just can't compare this game to the old ones. For as much as i love those classics, this is just a new, separate chapter of the series: you can like it or not, this is not meant to replace the entire Castlevania franchise, i'm quite sure of it.
I found the game really enjoyable and this track is just my absolute favourite of the whole soundtrack, yet i wouldn't dare compare this to previous titles: it's just out of place, different products
Played all the Castlevanias including the old Nintendo ones. Love this reboot and I think it made a very strong return. Where it had been heading in the past I felt was the wrong direction. Castlevania IV had been my favorite up till this point. Great voice acting besides perhaps Patrick Stewarts melodramatic performance (which I'm sure they requested from him), fantastic art, very interesting storyline that'll leave you guessing what happens next. I'm in for the sequel!
Abit weird that most people actually dont know that Castlevania came out way before GoW actually did, which means that it cant ripp off from GoW since it already was out waaaay before.....theres a little bit of history for you kids :)
my only beef with this game was the lack of classic tunes (other than the music box part) BUT I was relieved that the music although different was still fantastic. If it's one thing that has remained consistent throughout the Castlevania series it is the repertoire of fantastic game music. This is no exception.
Well , I miss the original castlevania's song from the previous games but I have to admit they really made a great score with all the music in this game especially with this one...totaly luv it...thumbs up if you agree
This track is brilliant. This game was epic. Right up there with SOTN. The soundtrack fit the game. When i heard this going into the necromancer's abyss I was pumped. Can't wait for the next game. Hopefully we will play as a belmont fighting gabriel aka dracula. Thank you konami and mercury steam. This deserves game of the year.
For fans of lore, and fantasy, and well thought univers, it is certainly one of the best games in the recent years, and it bodes very well for the Castlevania games to come, indeed.
The game, from the start, explain to you that this is the end of the age of wonder, that the creatures of Darkness were on the verge of extinction, that all creatures of magics are dying.
It is a truly epic game, with a lot of underlying themes, and it required such a cinematic soundtrack
this whole OST is great, it fits the game so well.
To all the unhappy fans, sorry, but Michiru Yamane's music, despite being absolutely perfect for the previous game, would have been very lacking for the scope of this one.
This Castlevania is a reboot, it's the first adult Castlevania, it's about loss, end and beginnings, it's a Dark Fantasy game, where the limits between good and evil are blurred.
Also, there is nothing "generic" about this orchestra. This track in particular has a great sense of flow, it isn't derivative at all. Might not be your style, but that doesn't make it generic.
On the whole... Not impressed with this soundtrack so far.
All the tracks sound like they belong in Lord of The Rings, not Castlevania. I know it may sound a little childish of me but the music is a very large reason of what made this series for me, to take away those catchy and epic tunes and replace them with generic orchestra just seems disappointing... Just sayin'.
I'm loving it because I think that Lord of the Rings music is far better than the simplistic MIDI stuff that is associated with old school Castlevania.
@AngelBeeps Why is it stupid people think all orchestrated music sounds like Lord of the Rings? This sounds absolutely like NOTHING Howard Shore would make, let alone LOTR. Please fuck off.
@VastedCouth No, I think I'll stay put, thanks. I was merely comparing it to that, I was not saying it sounded identical to it. On the whole, this soundtrack sucks, all the tracks are the same and there is nothing either memorable or special about them, which is terrible for a game in the Castlevania series. Zelda had orchestrated music, you don't hear me comparing that to lord of the rings and I've heard some great Castlevania Orchestrations in the past. So it can be done.
Zelda music has never been orchestrated. Even the last one, Twilight Princess, had MIDI tracks. That's one of the things that is really annoying about Nintendo being backwards these days.
The new Zelda game doesn't inspire confidence, though it is always possible they could make a good game again in the future.
But look at it this way: back in the Super NES and N64 days, when Nintendo made all of their best games, they were completely focused on making quality games. Now it's about Wii Sports Resort and this "mainstream" bullshit. They don't care about making good games anymore, when that kind of stuff is much cheaper and easier to make and sells more.
Laura deceived Gabriel.. He shouldn't have accepted to resort to vampirism, t'wasn't the only way. @dralka777 and @SVisionary , I agree. This score is amazing and this game is a bold direction for the Castlevania series.
Does anyone find this score to be reminiscent of the SCV4 soundtrack? It has a similar vibe, to me, especially this track and the Agharta Waterfalls.

and to that, I must disagree.
Most tracks uses similar arrangements and mechanics, giving the whole soundtrack a feeling of continuity.
There are a lot of great themes, but they are different from what we usually have in games, and closer to what we have in movies.
Again, it fits the game, and it completes it
