That it it's not always centered on one individual or one god and is accepted in many countries where each country makes it work for their culture. The US economy is not collapsing because of capitalism, it is collapsing because of massive corruption within the government and the banking sector. The US has not been run along true freemarket lines for decades. I think you overestimate the ability of a small business and underestimate the crushing might of a large corporation. How many mom-and-pop shops closed down when Wal-Mart moved in to their towns? As Wal-Mart shows, consumers are generally more interested in saving a few dollars than saving local businesses.
