@hakkai999 The empire turned their backs on talos when they signed the treaty with the Aldemeri Dominion. Plus The Dominion pushed the empire to their capital showing that the empire got weak. And the only importance Skyrim has to the Empire is its resources, so its time for the Nords to kick them out.

Although as another entry states that Hammerfell but it was left in a devastated state. People may think surrender is a heavier price than death but dont you think people are better off to live under dictated rules than die?

@hakkai999 No, robbing the people's freedom and rights for just security is no excuse. Even if the Imperials did take back the city they were in no position to fight back. Hammerfell didn't even get the chance to negotiate the terms and and the Empire turned its back on it. Yet Hammerfell, without the Empire, drove out the Aldmeri Dominion and gain independence. If Hammerfell can do that then an army of angry, talos loving, Nords can do the same.
