i was there later on at three or four i asked the life gaurd how big they are he said 20ft iwas there at 1o just like this guy they or only 12footers

Although the surf was amazing this past weekend, it was not 20-25' anywhere that I am aware of. I surfed N. San Diego and it was 8-10' with some set waves over 12 but most were closing out. Sorry to hear about the guy on the rocks. It really does not matter how it happened or who know more about the Wedge!

Wedge was easily 25' on Fri. Saturday morning pushed 30'. No doubt.

First off, Wave height is always exaggerated no matter what. Second, most surfers understand that measuring a wave from the back is the most reliable method. Even if you measure from the front you can't find much evidence of a 25+ wave last weekend. Thirdly, the wave height last weekend from all credible sources, Surfline & all news agencies reported up to 20 ft. We've been gathering screenshots and photos here and we still don't see the 25+foot face. Only awe struck spectators are saying 25+.

Even in the description in this video says 20 ft, but he decided to sensationalize it in his headline with the 25 ft inaccuracy. But look, it was a huge day at the wedge. It was awesome and if you want to believe that it was 30 ft, then fine. Perhaps one or two 25+ waves came in but none are in this footage nor any other I've seen.
