If you want to get rid of the blank app icons. Download app sync through cydia and sync your ipad to itunes. after you sync your itunes, and after you import the apps. Delete the blank icon apps from your ipad and then reinstall them through itunes.

you're supposed to use the appsync 3.2.

That's probably why you are experiencing issues with it thinking its an iphone.
