Agreed, the actor who played him in the movie did an absolute brilliant job. Especially I noticed when he's screaming for them to give him back his mask, the actor even got the faces amazingly accurate. Brilliant.

I don't know if he died in the comic, I haven't read it yet, but if he did I don't think the author chose for it to happen because he hated him.

Alan Moore seems a bit too mature to create a character just to destroy it as an effigy of those with whom he disagrees.

I didn't entirely agree with Rorschach's world view but I was very sad to see him die, you can appreciate someone without agreeing with them.

Rorschach had to die though, and Alan Moore stated that Wlater Kovacs was a man of desperation and in pain. He wanted it to all end. The story revolves around the Comedian, sure. However, the plot revolves around Rorschach's death. It's not a spoiler since you've seen the movie already, and the graphic novel and movie are closely the same. Believe me, Rorschach was the best thing to happen for DC since the joker.

i have only heard about watchmen a month ago read the graphic novel was the best read that coming from me is impresive as im not much of a reader only two things about it i didnt like 1 in the book and movie they shouldnt have shown rorschach face would have made him more of a mystery 2: they shoulnt have killed him his the best ot of all of them and killing him in the way they did was fucked up

There was a point in killing rorschach, in that his one main weakness was his unwillingness to compromise his beliefs, because he was gonna tell everybody what ozzy did and everybody else wanted to keep it a secret so the world can believe aliens were gonna take over.

Well at first i was like "man thats gay" i was shocked that they killed him off, but now that i think of it it's a alright change for the hero to die instead of having a happy ending even though it sucks him dying, it would have been cool for him to still be alive, but his journal is his legacy and we can interpret the story after that anyway we want to, we decide what happens next.

Rorschach is NOT the hero. That's the whole point of Watchmen. There are no heroes. Power corrupts and makes you a psycho (Rorschach, Comedian), detached from your fellow man (Dr. M.) or a megalomaniac jackass (Ozymandias).

I don't think the point of Watchmen was that all the heroes were secretly bad people and, there fore, not really heroes. I think it was meant to debunk the idea that heroes are void of human flaws. They weren't morally ideal boyscouts like Superman, they were normal people who just happened to be masked vigilantees trying to do what they believed was best but, because thy're all human after all, they're reasoning is always inescapably flawed in some way. Except Comedian, he was a sociopath.

Don't think of the point of the movie being about superheroes. Apply it to yourself and others. What ideals do people hold when they're young and over time compromise? Only few can hold true to their ideals. Like Rorschach's character - "No compromises"

Excellent tribute to one of the finest and most interesting characters in graphic novel history.

I don't know about anyone else but I thought that Rorschach was the real hero of Watchmen. At least he knew how to get shit done. :)
