  • you mind leaving some skill for the rest of us..

  • those guitars were made for you

  • It's always good to see my old 335 (blonde)is still kicking. Its a 82/83 custom shop.

  • What overdrive pedal are you using? Sweet tone

  • It was the Hermida Zendrive 2....It has a tube in it, very big full sounder !

  • hey starman great playing, what years are your 335's? and necks slim taper, name? casino? i want to buy one, but want your style 335 the black looks nice any suggestions thanks a fan from boston mass

  • WCR darkburst takes the cake, although the WB sound great too, very close

  • Gibsom 335 is the best electric guitar.

I've got copy of that guitar and it is better than les paul an stratocaster

  • man i got to get me a 335, sound better than a les paul

  • yeah! i love it, i like the wcr's when you start jamming to the fuck shuffle, great feek and tastul licks! you da man!

  • funk shuffle, sorry although i guess that could 70's porn

  • Sweet Tone. I love 335's too. Great demo but without your amp, amp settings, pedals, signal-chain etc, the demo is meaningless because we don't have a perspective on what the amp and pedals are contributing to the overall sound. Could you fill in the gap for us?

Thanks and once again, sweet tone man.

  • Thanks...Ok, from what I remember, All tone controls on bothe 335's were all the way up, volume comstrols up all the way except when I was in the middle postion (bothe pickups) I rolled the neck pickup volume back about 2 numbers. The chain was overdrive (Zendrive 2 i think) and TC Nova delay into a vintage vibroverb. On the amp the Volume was on about 2.5, treble 6, bass 4, reverb 2.5. Basically a moderate overdrive into a pretty clean sounding Fender with a little delay to fatten it up.....

  • Do you recall the settings on your Zendrive 2? I'm guessing you probably don't, but here's for trying...

  • Man, that's the last thing I was hoping to hear :)

Vibroverbs are so expensive. I've seen some of your gig videos and are you using this same amp for gigs as well?

  • The live gig vids have me playing out of my Black face Twin Reverb, also with a 15" speaker. It's big and bad ! It was modded by Riveria in the 70's....

  • Just for the record, when I said "The 83", I'm referring to the blonde guitar (1983), and "The 81" black guitar (1981). The Blonde has WB Vintage Tuned Pickups, and the black 335 has WCR "Darkburst" pickups....

  • "lovely singing"?

He didn't sing in the video you retard.

  • I think his punctuation was just bad.

    "Lovely, singing, creamy tone ..."

  • Lovely singing, creamy tone - kind of puts me in mind of Eric Johnson....

  • well above below-average .

  • This is what frustrates me about music and musicians, that someone can play this well and be virtually unknown (no disrespect intended).

I mean this cat flat out kills!!.. truly a master of the instrument. I could listen to this guy play all day long, the music just seems to pour out of him.. in an endless sea of posers your the real deal my friend!!!

  • what kind of wcr pickups are you using?

  • Why do you talk in etalicks.. whats WB?

  • WB is a guitar pickup company....It stands for " Will Boggs" the founder....He's a cool guy from CA who makes some awsome guitar pickups!

  • What the feck are WTRs??

  • Know it's WCR's.....Another great guitar pickup company from CA......This vid is all about comparing two differant high-end guitar pickups...

  • great playuing man, what kind of wcr pick up was in there? i also like the wb!

  • I think the WCR's cut through the mix better than the WB's.

  • Very EJ-ish tones, imo. Great playing and technique.

  • Hey Frank, I'll admit, those are two of the hottest guitars anywhere, and the vintage Vibroverb is to die for. But how come nobody get excited about that way-cool metronome on the table?

All kidding aside - great video.

  • Holy Smokes, why aren't you famous yet?

  • That's great Frank!

  • I meant WCRs

  • Frank, that was very informative and I think I might like to put the WTR's in my Les Paul. You played some killer licks in the demo too. If it was only that easy for everybody.......
