internet from virgin is so useless that if I want to load a youtube video I have to wait sometimes 10 minutes or more(sometimes works fine but most times is horrible). I do not recommend Virgin to anyone
@ktfwolverley the worst answer I could expect. what does a browser have to do with the speed of your connection? it could interfere with the speed of your computer some browsers use more computer resources and some less, but it's got nothing to do with my problem. next time shut up when you see a question you don't know the answer.
I agree with the comment further down, i can see AVG scanning, and what possibly could be uTorrent running (2nd icon on left) and it looks like its on battery power which cuts LAN down to 5Mb/s
I've got virgins 50mbps fiber optic broadband its soo fast you tube content downloads instantly amazing broadband :D virgin are soo much better than any other broadband provider in the UK and thats a fact !

Pc is top spec. Virgin were ok for about 2 months but i download films and music and use iplayer. If you do this a lot they tend to cripple your connection during peak hours 4 till 11pm. Using the same equipment during the day is OK but I'm at work then so no good for me.The tech guy actually told me that their traffic managemnt system had a fault and couldnt tell me when it would be fixed. He let me out of my 12 monthe contract.with Demon now.£3 a month more but fast.Hope you have better luck.
