Im sorry but the beatles are anything but over rated. They deserve all the credit they have. The beatles were and still are huge influences to musicians all over. I bet your a typical kid who rips on the beatles because you only know Hey Jude Or Yellow Submarine, but all of their songs are amazing and they are some of the best musicians/songwriters of all time. Actually that IS the beginning (there was no film for the first part, this is what was shown in concert in the '70s), but yeah the end is chopped off. (The updated version on Pulse does have other footage and covers all of both songs.)

This was actually a backdrop film to be shown in concert (not originally intended as a "music video"), so apparently they never showed anything during the first half of the song. These old films were dug up and aired as music videos by MTV/VH1.

Because of the fact that Brain Damage segues into Eclipse, it isn't very smooth to end a song abruptly. And a 6-minute song isn't very radio-friendly. So, to save time, they ditch the first half, and sell it off as "Brain Damage Eclipse". Sometimes the newly-edited song is sold off as "The Dark Side of the Moon".
