My father was a miner for 42 years, 38 of them underground his last 4 years on the surface at Phalen, lost his father in #18 colliery back in 1953.He saw many awful things over the years,he was part of a brotherhood like none other except maybe those that serve us proudly in the military. There was no limit to what these men would do for another miner when the need arose.God bless those miners that have left us as well as those that remain.
@russfromdodge God bless them indeed. You could never pay me twice what those coal miners made to go underground.By the way,I'm a Caper myself.I've only ever been to the Miner's Museum in Glace Bay once in my life.
@krnannable hear hear CB this song can bring tears to me they will never be forgotten may those who lost there lives never be forgotten LEST WE FORGET
I remember seeing this on History Television.
