  • Galaxy 1 and 2 were so epic. I can't wait to see what adventures await Mario next.

  • I should get this sheet music and see if our school band can play this, thumbs if you'd like to see us try!

  • good game. No Mario will ever beat SuperMario64 though :)

  • Mario my good friend, you never let me down.

  • One of the best video game soundtracks ever. This game was extremely well orchestrated.

  • when i played this for the first time i accidently went off the edge of something and thought i was going to die. but then i was like "holy crap!! i'm upside down!!" lol

  • A grand introduction to the best game of 2007, and I daresay one of the greatest games ever!

  • nintendo are the best because when they make a mario or a zelda you know it a good game they dont say we make a shity game and put mario in the game like sega and the ( microsoft ) rareware

  • 0:00 used to be a way to skip adverticement... now it is a way to replay this epic song :)

  • This game is like DKC. Objectively speaking, this game is pretty average if not below average. The gameplay just isn't as involved and arcadey as a Mario game is supposed to be. You can pull of incredible feats of jumping prowess that require precision and skill in other Marios. But this one is as slow as molasses. What carries the game for people is the visuals and the music. So yeah, pretty much exactly like DKC. NSMBW is the real game on the system.

  • @BalladoftheWindfish You can't long jump your way all the way around a planet a dozen times or wall jump your way up a couple of small waterfalls in other Mario platformers. You don't call that amazing feats of jumping prowess?

I don't remember Super Mario 64 being all that fast paced either. In fact I'm pretty sure it was slower and more exploration-oriented than Galaxy.

You can't compare a 3D Mario platformer to a 2D Mario platformer. The two series are way too different.

  • @bONz08r0nzan I think you are right. 2D Mario and 3D Mario should not be compared, and, in its own way, the 3D Mario series is a good series. My view has developed somewhat sense I made the comment to which you are responding. I just wish Nintendo realized that the distinction exist. Consider: which series is getting the most resources? Which game is getting a release on the 3DS FIRST? Their priorities obviously lie with the 3D Mario when people on the ground want 2D Mario!!! What gives!!!

  • @BalladoftheWindfish I think the reason why we're seeing 3D Mario on the 3DS first instead of 2D Mario is because

    1. There is more they can do in regards to 3D effects with a 3D platformer rather than a 2D one. Have you watched the Super Mario 3D trailer on the 3DS? It looks pretty sweet.

    2. They are most likely currently working on a 2D Mario game for the Wii U and want it to be either a launch title or a launch window title. You remember how they showed off "Super Mario Mii" at E3, yes?

  • @BalladoftheWindfish And, hey, at least they're incorporating more elements of the 2D Mario games into Super Mario 3DS. You have the powerups like the fireflower functioning more like they did in the 2D games, the Tanooki Suit is back, instead of a health meter you shrink if you get it, more 2D levels, etc.

  • @BalladoftheWindfish Oh, one more thing. Flagpoles instead of power stars!

  • @BalladoftheWindfish NSMBW is only 2D. These games have friggin' great gameplay and you obviously haven't played the games thoroughly.

SMG and SMG2 aare the best main series Mario games by far.

  • @Darkhuaza517 Super Mario World was the best 2d mario game. Super Mario Galaxy was the best 3rd person gravity 3d game. Super Mario 3d Land is the best 3DS 3D game.

  • 0 dislikes! WOOT WOOT!

  • good egg has the best song ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

  • *sigh* This game is too easy... Fun, but it will never be a true classic. However, the music is a totally different story! It's wonderfully orchestrated! Koji Kondo has done it again.

  • @Schrubbery It wasn't as hard as SM64 but it was harder than Sunshine, way harder

  • @playoffexpert1 What?? You're not talking about just beating the main story, right? Cause that's a stupid way to judge Mario difficulty. Galaxy was much harder than Sunshine. Getting all the Shine Sprites in Sunshine was pretty hard. And those damned blue coins....

I'm a Mario fanatic and I just sorta gave up on trying to completely beat Sunshine. I completely beat Galaxy with both Mario and Luigi, on the other hand.

  • @bONz08r0nzan Well I am, but I had a players guide so that made it easier. It shows all the blue coins. Sunshine actually took me a few more years to beat only because of my lack of experience. As far as a straight playthrough, Galaxy is for more difficult.

  • @playoffexpert1 Oh, I had a guide too. Probably the same as you. The thing is, though, I didn't want to go back and find them all because by the time I got the guide I had already found at least a third of them. So it was either go through each level and check off each one I had already found or just say "screw it, it's not worth the stupid shirt".

  • @playoffexpert1

The difficult parts of Galaxy are usually the gimmicky things. Like the rolling ball or manta ray thing. Sunshine's difficulty came from those levels where Shadow Mario took away FLUDD. I rank challenging platforming based difficulty over "You only have one hitpoint to beat this boss" or "get 200 purple coins before the time runs out" based difficulty.

  • @bONz08r0nzan You're right, but getting the stars to me (with a few exceptions, some of those Delfino Plaza shine sprites are hard to get) was far more difficult on Galaxy, even without gimmick type stars. The purple coins weren't too difficult, but outside of the first Serena Beach and Noki Bay secrets, I didn't find them too challenging. Galaxy to me reminded me a lot of SM64, by far the hardest. Well not as terms of difficulty but in mental capacity with how to get the stars.

  • I remember playing this game over the summer. I was completely hooked. I love this game so much. <3

  • 0:00 <-- replay button

  • @username3282 THANK YOU!!!

  • 0 dislikes as is should be =]

  • Very apropriate first galaxy theme, reeled me into the game, constantly play it over in my head

  • I've only completed 1/5 of the game so far, but I think that this would be my favorite theme in the whole game.

  • It kinda sounds like music from a Starfox game. Great music from a great game.

  • this is a perfect game and so was mario 64 but this is better

  • @scottyupiner wrong

  • @playoffexpert1 i've had my experience in both, they are outstanding games, i cnt decide so because of the super spin and the fact u can play as luigi makes smg a little better to me, but hey, thts just my opinion

  • Good Egg Galaxy is the best galaxy (And most original) :D

  • I Love Egg Music.*** Lovtheme Music for Mario and Peach ***

  • I remember, i was in best buy with my dad, it was a few weeks after the game came out, me and him stood there and played with one set of controls for a good 15 min or so, i thought this was the hub world, and we just stayed on the first planet with the house and tower, but it was fun, little did i know that this game was gonna turn into one of the best game ever

  • i can play this on clarinet

  • This returns in the ultimate mission of SMG2: The Perfect Run.

  • I like this better than Gusty Garden Galaxy :D

I got really happy when hearing this in Galaxy 2

  • this is one of the main tunes that you first hear, and its pretty damm good!

  • They never tried this on VGL -_-'

    kuso! XD

  • Makes me feel so hopeful and powerful

  • Great from 0:57, awsome game, perfect music, cool gameplay, 10/10

  • The intro is so EPIC

  • ...And so the awesomesauciness began!

  • This is a great song to play on flute! :D

  • this is actually koji kondo's piece, no jokes it is.

  • koji kondo is a genius! , he created the only one theme that can join the entire world!

  • Makes me want to explore my own galaxy. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

  • its cool how koji kondo formed an orchestra just for super mario galaxy and galaxy 2, just proves how big mario really is, he's the mickey mouse of gaming

  • @slaymaster999 legend of zelda series also dude

  • @theorc2 yea in twilight princess, im not sure about the others though

  • @slaymaster999 Couldn't have said that better myself. Unfortunately, just like Mickey, his popularity is draining as we speak due to Microsoft's games.

  • @slaymaster999 Mario is so much more popular than Mickey Mouse these days.

  • @slaymaster999 a lot of games, and i mean a SHITLOAD OF GAMES hire the whole orchestra for their soundtrack.. i agree tho that mario is a boss

  • one of the best things Koji Kondo has composed...

  • Yeah, this was effectively composed only by Koji Kondo.

  • This was composed by Koji Kondo only, not Mahito Yokata! :P

  • AWSOME IM WAITING ON GALAXY 2
